1. Deferred Interest – Best Odds: 100/1 with Unibet

Showed very little on debut and arrives here as a rank outsider. The booking of a capable jockey may help, but there’s no obvious evidence of ability yet. Will need significant progression to play a part at this level.

2. Fantasy World – Best Odds: 9/2 with Betvictor

Placed on both appearances this season and shaped as though more to come remains. From a stable that excels with improving 3yos, and the longer trip could be a plus. Rob Hornby keeps the partnership intact, which is a positive sign.

3. Sky Advocate – Best Odds: 15/8 with bet365

This colt has been running with consistency, hitting the frame multiple times. Experience is on his side, and he holds the highest rating in the field. Might well dictate the pace, but remains vulnerable to a newcomer with a turn of foot.

4. Zolder – Best Odds: 25/1 with Betvictor

Absent since an undistinguished debut effort last year and returns without any real buzz. Connections may be looking for fitness today rather than a winning run. Best watched unless the market speaks strongly in his favour.

5. Wine Dark Sea – Best Odds: 13/2 with Unibet

Second on debut in a fair race, but disappointed when reappearing at Kempton. That said, he’s in good hands and this stiffer track might bring out the best in him. Could be a dark horse if bouncing back from that below-par run.

6. Bin Ajwad – Best Odds: 11/2 with bet365

Made some late ground on his latest start and appears to be improving steadily. The Tate yard is no stranger to success with late-maturing types, and this step up in trip should be beneficial. Place claims are solid.

7. Blea Tarn – Best Odds: 20/1 with Betvictor

Made a quiet start to his career and failed to get involved at Windsor. Drawn wide and likely to be dropped in again, he’ll need to improve markedly to get into contention. Best to wait for signs of progress before supporting.

8. Captain Robert – Best Odds: 12/1 with bet365

Put in a reasonable effort on sole outing as a juvenile, and now returns from a long layoff. Represents a respected stable and looks one to keep an eye on if the market speaks positively. May be a sharpener for future assignments.

9. Finalise – Best Odds: 3/1 with Unibet

Hails from the powerful Haggas operation and shaped with potential when staying on in eighth on debut. That was a warm Newbury maiden, and this represents calmer waters. Expected to take a step forward with Fallon now booked.

Verdict

Finalise is the one likely to come on bundles from his first outing and should be hard to stop in a race lacking depth. Fantasy World brings consistent form to the table and is shaping up as the most reliable of the exposed runners. Bin Ajwad looks to be improving and could pick up the pieces late for a place, while Sky Advocate, though consistent, might be vulnerable if one of the unexposed types takes a major leap forward.

1. Change Of Fortune – Best Odds: 9/4 with bet365

Got off the mark here last time with a determined front-running effort, holding rivals comfortably in the final strides. The return to this track and trip is an obvious plus, and Gale claims valuable weight again. On the up and clearly in good heart.

2. Anticipating – Best Odds: 7/2 with Unibet

Responded well to cheekpieces recently and stayed on gamely to land a similar contest. While not the most consistent overall, he appears to be enjoying life at present. Remains competitively weighted and should be in the thick of it once again.

3. Hiccups – Best Odds: 25/1 with Betvictor

Absent since late last year and returns with something to prove. Displayed minor promise at times but looks to need more to trouble the principals in this line-up. Trainer and jockey know how to spring a surprise, but this may be too much first up.

4. James Park Woods – Best Odds: 16/1 with bet365

Veteran performer who hasn’t fired in three appearances this season. Best judged on his past form, which includes stronger efforts than these, but his current trajectory raises concerns. Ground conditions suit, though revival is required.

5. Jurality – Best Odds: 4/1 with Unibet

Running steadily without winning and now drops into a weaker grade. Probert takes over in the saddle, and that’s a positive move. Form stacks up well enough in the context of this race and should be capable of making a bold bid from a handy position.

6. Spartan Times – Best Odds: 6/1 with bet365

Often runs his race without threatening to win, placing several times without delivering the final blow. Candlish has kept him ticking over with hurdles spins, but this flat return could suit. Consider for each-way purposes, especially if a solid gallop unfolds.

7. Beaune – Best Odds: 7/1 with Betvictor

Beginning to look more competitive, finishing within striking distance on recent starts. Looks to have found her level in these classified events and continues to run creditably. Can pick up the pieces late if they go too quick up front.

8. Helston Dance – Best Odds: 10/1 with bet365

Lightly raced and could come forward after two outings this term. Yet to fully settle in his races but has hinted at ability. Hornby is a positive booking and improvement wouldn’t be surprising now stepping up in distance again.

9. My Candy Girl – Best Odds: 25/1 with Unibet

Form figures don’t inspire confidence and she’s yet to threaten in any of her runs. Blinkers didn’t appear to have the desired effect last time. Needs major progression or perhaps a tactical change to get involved.

Verdict

Anticipating gets the nod after showing clear signs of improvement in recent weeks and landing a similar race with authority. Jurality has been knocking on the door and could well pounce if the favourite falters. Beaune is creeping closer to a breakthrough and appeals as a lively each-way player. Change Of Fortune, while respected after a recent course win, might find life a little tougher off a revised mark.

1. Obsessedwithyou – Best Odds: 11/10 – bet365

Jamie Snowden’s mare has been knocking on the door with a series of placed finishes, including a respectable fourth last time out in a stronger contest. Gavin Sheehan remains in the saddle and the drop in grade may be what she needs to go one better this time.

2. Calli Black – Best Odds: 7/1 – BetMGM

Lightly raced in recent months, this 7-year-old has struggled for consistency, though her fourth-place effort on penultimate start was respectable. James Davies partners her once again for David Weston, and she’s not without a squeak if returning to that better form.

3. Lady Pretender – Best Odds: 11/4 – BetVictor

Venetia Williams’ runner has been keeping solid company and often runs to a good standard. With Charlie Deutsch in the irons and cheekpieces retained, she looks the chief danger to the market leader and shouldn’t be underestimated on her seasonal return.

4. Culligran – Best Odds: 7/2 – bet365

Yet to get her head in front over fences, but John O’Shea’s mare has been plugging on late in recent runs. Kielan Woods takes the ride again and with the right gallop, she may sneak into the frame if she jumps with more fluency.

5. Miss Marette – Best Odds: 20/1 – Unibet

Chris Down’s veteran mare has shown little in her recent efforts, with a tendency to weaken under pressure. She’ll need to rediscover her old spark to feature here, but David Noonan knows her well and any ease in the ground could help.

Verdict

Lady Pretender looks ready to make a winning return for Venetia Williams after a break and could prove too strong if she’s fit and firing. Obsessedwithyou will be popular with punters and has the form to be right there again, though her finishing effort can be questionable. Culligran may offer value if the leaders tire late on.

1. Sir Galahad – Best Odds: 4/5 – bet365

Olly Murphy’s rising star has made a perfect start to his hurdling campaign with consecutive wins. Sean Bowen stays aboard and this speedy gelding looks primed to go in again, especially with more to come and race fitness on his side.

2. Roxanne – Best Odds: 11/10 – BetVictor

Dan Skelton’s mare has also gone unbeaten so far, landing both starts with authority. With 7lb claimer Heidi Palin maintaining the partnership, she receives weight from the boys and poses a serious threat to the favourite if she maintains her progress.

3. Ifan Full Pelt – Best Odds: 100/1 – Unibet

This 5yo showed little in two previous efforts and fell on one occasion. Nikki Evans’ charge will need a monumental leap forward to be competitive here. Ben Poste takes the reins but huge improvement is needed.

4. Millsbridge – Best Odds: 66/1 – BetMGM

Adrian Wintle’s runner has been unplaced in all attempts and doesn’t bring much encouragement on paper. Ciaran Gethings is booked, though this gelding looks firmly up against it in this company.

5. Chanelle Noir – Best Odds: 33/1 – bet365

Placed on her most recent appearance, Ben Clarke’s mare showed a bit more spark after some low-key prior efforts. Ben Jones remains aboard, and while she’s unlikely to trouble the top pair, she could be the best of the rest.

6. Sure To Please – Best Odds: 25/1 – Unibet

Evan Williams’ mare has yet to feature in four starts but might appreciate this shorter trip. Adam Wedge returns to the saddle and connections will be hoping she can take a step in the right direction, though others look far stronger.

Verdict

This looks set to be a match race between the unbeaten pair, but Roxanne edges preference due to her weight allowance and powerful finish last time out. Sir Galahad is clearly a danger, though he may find conceding 7lb tough against a filly in top form. Chanelle Noir appeals most of the remainder for minor money.

1. Ri Na Cuirte – Best Odds: 3/1 – BetVictor

Ben Clarke’s gelding arrives with a string of runner-up finishes and looks ready to strike after knocking on the door for some time. Ben Jones remains in the saddle, and the addition of cheekpieces appears to have sharpened him up. A big run is expected if he can see out the trip with conviction.

2. D’Jo Dela Barriere – Best Odds: 13/8 – bet365

Evan Williams’ representative returned to form in style when scoring last time and now looks to back it up off a slightly higher mark. Ellis Collier claims a valuable 5lb, and with confidence flowing, this 6yo is sure to be popular with punters. Major player once again.

3. Karavomylos – Best Odds: 5/1 – Unibet

Absent since early 2023, this returning gelding has winning form and could go well fresh for the Bowen stable. Sean Bowen is a significant booking, and with fitness not an issue for this yard, he may offer value if returning in similar form to his last campaign.

4. Northern Symphonie – Best Odds: 2/1 – BetMGM

Keiran Burke’s mare is on a roll after winning twice in quick succession, and she has improved for the step up in distance. Sam Twiston-Davies keeps the ride, and although up in the weights, she’s not one to take lightly in this kind of form.

Verdict

Northern Symphonie has been thriving of late and could complete the hat-trick if progressing again. D’Jo Dela Barriere is another with momentum and rates the main danger in a compact but competitive heat. Karavomylos may represent each-way value if ready after a lengthy absence, especially with conditions to suit.

1. Blue In The West – Best Odds: 7/1 – BetMGM

Returned from a break to finish second in a small-field event, showing improved stamina over this distance. Callum Pritchard takes off 5lb again and Ben Lund’s mare could build on that recent effort. With conditions to suit, she has a chance if replicating her latest performance.

2. Lucky Bounce – Best Odds: 5/1 – BetVictor

Lightly raced and seemingly rejuvenated when runner-up last time following a lengthy absence. Brendan Powell retains the ride for Ryan Potter, and with that run under his belt, further improvement over this extended trip can’t be ruled out.

3. Little Miller – Best Odds: 5/1 – bet365

Had a quiet season last term but hinted at ability before. D J Jeffreys applies first-time blinkers and the return to a stamina test might bring out more. Kielan Woods partners, and with a clear round, he could go well in a field of inconsistent rivals.

4. Miss Popalong – Best Odds: 11/4 – Unibet

Philip Hobbs & Johnson White’s mare showed some consistency in novice company and returns with headgear on after a break. Micheal Nolan is back aboard and the step up in distance should suit. She deserves respect and could go one better if fresh and fit.

5. Blackacre – Best Odds: 3/1 – bet365

Often there or thereabouts, Evan Williams’ gelding remains a maiden but his form reads better than many here. Isabel Williams takes the reins again and first-time cheekpieces could help find that extra edge. Likely to be on the premises once more.

6. Harvie Wallbanger – Best Odds: 13/2 – BetMGM

Well-beaten on his return but had been off the track a long time prior. John O’Shea’s 9yo may strip fitter today and Sean Bowen is a notable booking. A case can be made on his earlier form if the race develops into a stamina battle.

7. Junior Des Mottes – Best Odds: 10/1 – BetVictor

Out of form throughout last season but drops in the weights and steps up in trip. David Brace’s charge has Connor Brace aboard, and the blinkers remain. Not the easiest to trust, but not impossible if finding rhythm from the front.

Verdict

Miss Popalong appears to have been laid out for this and, with stamina assured, she can make her presence felt on seasonal return. Blackacre continues to run solid races and will be thereabouts again if cheekpieces have a positive effect. Lucky Bounce is one of the less exposed types and may still have something up his sleeve after an eye-catching comeback.
