Horse Racing Tips & Predictions for Tuesday 10th September 2024 at Catterick, Lingfield and Newcastle
Today’s Focus Races
Today promises an intriguing set of races, with plenty of contenders set to battle it out across the various courses. At Lingfield, the 2:30 race features a competitive field where No News looks to be regaining his form after a challenging season. Over at Catterick, the 4:57 offers another test for Jalaybee, a horse who is still searching for his first win but has shown potential.

The race will also see other runners like Scarboroughwarning, who has shown promise on turf. Meanwhile, at Leicester, Hot Fashion returns in the 4:14 after a less-than-ideal run, but her previous form indicates she could do well here. Finally, in Newcastle, Juicy steps up to 6f in the 6:30, looking to capitalise on her recent improvement. With a variety of racing styles and conditions on display today, we’re in for some competitive action.
Nap of the Day
Reasoning | |
Normandy Vista is our Nap of the Day and looks well-placed in the 3:20 at Catterick. Charlie Johnston’s charge has been showing consistent improvement and came agonisingly close to victory over a mile and three-quarters in his last outing here. Dropping back slightly in distance today should play to his strengths, as he’s shown he can handle the pace and push on when needed. With Due Consideration’s stamina questionable and Laudable looking to stretch for a third consecutive win, Normandy Vista appears to be the most reliable contender. His solid draw in stall two should allow him to position well and dictate the race from the front.
Reasoning | |
No News is a contender to watch at Lingfield today. While his form on turf has been far from stellar, his performance on the all-weather track has been much stronger. After a string of disappointing finishes at Newmarket and Yarmouth, he recently showed signs of improvement over 7f here at Lingfield. Sitting 2lb below his last winning mark, and with Oisin Murphy taking the reins, No News has a good chance to capitalise on this opportunity. If he can maintain his form and improve his finishing, he could be the one to beat in this race.
Reasoning | |
Jalaybee returns for his second start under the guidance of Declan Carroll, and there’s reason to believe he could pull off a surprise in this one. As a two-year-old, Jalaybee showed plenty of potential with strong finishes behind high-class rivals like Democracy. However, he’s yet to translate that form into wins. His recent performance, where he raced keenly but showed staying power, suggests there’s still more to come. With the ground at Catterick expected to suit him, Jalaybee could well be in with a shout if he manages to settle into his race rhythm. Keep an eye on him, as he has the potential to make an impact here.
Reasoning | |
Juicy steps down in class and tackles the 6f distance for the first time, which could prove a turning point for her. After a lengthy break, she returned to competitive action in a Racing League contest at Ascot and performed respectably, running to her mark. Her improved start from the stalls is a positive sign, as it had been a key weakness in previous runs. Still lightly raced and showing hints of improvement, Juicy has the potential to get her head in front today, especially given that she’s up against less-experienced competition.
