While Swiatek has served efficiently, dropping serve only six times during the tournament, Bencic has matched that with grit and consistency. The 28-year-old has saved her best for the big moments, prevailing in consecutive tiebreaks against Mirra Andreeva in the quarter-finals. That win not only proved her mental resilience but also marked a continuation of strong performances since returning from maternity leave. Although her first-serve percentage sits slightly behind Swiatek’s (68% to 80%), she edges the Pole in second-serve points won (59% versus 54%) – an indication of how well she handles pressure on grass.
Swiatek, while steady throughout, has not cruised through matches. McNally, Samsonova, and Tauson all managed to break her serve, and the Pole has not yet faced a player as seasoned and tactically varied as Bencic in this event. With the handicap set at 4.5 games, even a tight two-set defeat – especially with tiebreaks or a 7-5 set – would be enough for the Swiss to cover the spread.
