Main Bet: Lawrence
Thriston Lawrence of South Africa has had a fantastic season. He got off to a lucky start, but he has more than capitalised on it. That stroke of luck occurred when the event was called off and he was crowned the winner after leading the Joburg Open by four strokes at the halfway point after shooting a pair of 65s.
The following time the circuit peaked, he was 2nd in the Kenya Open before returning home and earning two top-20 finishes near Johannesburg. He played well all summer, with his best finish being in the top three at the Irish Open, before winning the European Masters in Crans.
At the Dunhill Links Championship on Friday, he was among those who suffered in the wind. Despite this, he recorded scores of 67 and 69 on either side of his 80. A week earlier, he was in the top 10 at the halfway point of the Open de France before coming in 20th. He is back on a parkland track with trees and thin air, where he is in his element and should do well on his course debut.

B. Hansen (Each-Way) To Win
£20 bet returns £135 (if placed) with Betvictor

Each Way Bet: B. Hansen
Joachim B. Hansen, a Dane, has demonstrated twice how much he appreciates the Villa Madrid test. He placed fourth in 2019 and competed for the majority of the weekend. He followed that up with a 24th last year, and in seven of his eight laps around the track, he has finished under 70. His ability to make decisions under pressure was evident in Kenya, but it was really on display in 2020 when he claimed the Joburg Open at Randpark.
He finished sixth there in 2017 as well, and he competed in the Steyn City Championship earlier this year after returning to the high veldt. After that effort, his form suffered, but he finished 14th in the European Masters and 13th in the Open de France two weeks prior.
I won’t worry too much about his inability to advance to the Dunhill Links final day because he has participated in that competition six times and has only ever completed four rounds. He has a tendency to play his best golf in the latter few months of the season, and this could happen this week as well.
