Main Bet: Tommy Fleetwood To Win

Tiger Woods will miss this tournament due to an injury. In a Monday news release, the great man debunked the buzz by explaining: “I’ve experienced plantar fasciitis in my right foot as a result of my training and preparation for this week’s Hero World Challenge, which is making it challenging to walk.” “I’ve decided to take a break this week and concentrate on my hosting responsibilities after speaking with my doctor and trainers.”

Tiger plans to team up with Rory McIlroy on December 10 to go up against Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas in the latest “The Match.”

Sepp Straka can now keep this prestigious annual event with 20 players after Tiger Woods dropped out. Jon Rahm, who recently won the DP World Tour Championship, is the betting favourite at 5/1. Rahm has made two appearances in the tournament, which has been held in Albany in the Bahamas since 2015, and has won both times (in 2018 and 2019). (2019). He’ll be difficult to defeat. Rahm won in 2018, Henrik Stenson won in 2019, and Viktor Hovland won in 2021 (the tournament didn’t take place in 2020), giving Europeans the last three titles. That comes as no big surprise. In Mexico’s breezy El Camaleon, Hovland has won twice, and Stenson has won the Open. Albany is a windy coastal track and has some of the same difficulties.

Rahm had just finished second at the DP World Tour Championship when he won here in 2018, while Hovland was fresh off a victory (that second Mexico Championship) at the time. Rahm finished second here in 2019 with a record of 1-1 (DP again and the Spanish Open in his home country). This shows that it helps to be in good shape when you play here. Tommy Fleetwood comes to mind as a straightforward option who succeeds on the coast and keeps things simple. With some sea air in his nose, the Englishman reminded us of his abilities by achieving back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the Scottish Open and the Open Championship back in July.

He finished tied fourth in the CJ Cup, first in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, and tied 5th at the DP World Tour Championship in his most recent three starts. The fact that he finished second in his last of 10 finishes at the DP World Tour’s season-ending event also helps to boost his form, as does the fact that he placed first for Strokes Gained: Approach on the Earth Course. Fleetwood has played Albany once, and his tie for third-place finish there in 2017 indicated that he likes the layout. The 2019 Open runner-up is worth a shot at this price, and it is our main bet for this week.
