The tournament is played on red clay, and it is usually slower than Cordoba, with a bit of altitude (175m).

The Dallas Open make the debut on the tour, and it is the only indoor tournament that is played on the main tour in the USA. The surface hasn’t been listed yet, so we don’t know what type it is, which adds a bit of uncertainty.

The New York Open, which was the one played in recent years instead of the Dallas tournament, had an average of 38% underdog winners in the last three years, and we should expect a similar percentage this week in Texas.
