Ross County vs Celtic Predictions
Can Ross County Surprise Celtic, or Will the Champions Continue Their Dominance?
- Celtic’s Dominance on the Road: Celtic have scored 11 goals in just three away games in the Premiership this season, making them a formidable force away from home. Ross County’s defence will need to be at their best to contain them.
- Ross County’s Resilience: The Staggies have found the net in their last three matches, scoring six goals in total. If they can continue this form, they could trouble a Celtic defence that has been imperious in the league but shaky in Europe.
- Celtic’s Clean Sheet Streak: Celtic have yet to concede in the Premiership this season, keeping six clean sheets in a row. However, they showed signs of vulnerability in their recent Champions League defeat, which could offer Ross County a glimmer of hope.

Reasoning |
As Celtic prepare to travel north to face Ross County, all attention will be on whether the hosts can put up a fight against the undefeated league leaders. Celtic have been impressive this season, dominating the Scottish Premiership and showing no signs of slowing down, despite a hammering midweek defeat in Europe. For Ross County, this match represents the ultimate challenge. While they’ve shown some fight in recent games, but this is going to be a completely different challenge. Their home form, coupled with Celtic’s current rampage, sets the stage for what could either be an inspired upset or a clinical dismantling by the Bhoys.
Given Celtic’s strong domestic form—six wins in six matches with 20 goals scored and none conceded—it’s difficult to see anything but an away win on Sunday. However, Ross County could still cause some problems to the hosts. Despite sitting seventh in the table, their recent performances have been gritty, and they’ve shown they can find the back of the net even in the most unexpected of circumstances. But can they keep out a Celtic side still licking their wounds from that 7-1 humiliation at the hands of Borussia Dortmund? That seems very difficult indeed.
Best Bet: Celtic to Win and Both Teams to Score
It’s no surprise that backing Celtic to win is the safest bet going into this fixture. They’ve been unstoppable in the Scottish Premiership, and their league form remains unblemished despite their Champions League woes. The real question here is whether Ross County can muster a goal against a side that has yet to concede in the league. Interestingly enough, there’s good reason to believe they might.
Ross County’s attack, while not prolific, has shown flashes of brilliance recently. They scored twice in the dying moments to salvage a 3-3 draw with St Johnstone and found the back of the net in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Hearts. Ronan Hale has been pivotal in this resurgence, scoring in each of their last two matches, and he remains a doubt for this clash. However, if fit, Hale’s presence gives Ross County a chance to find a way through Celtic’s fortress-like defence.
On the other hand, Celtic’s defence, despite their remarkable clean sheet record in the Premiership, looked alarmingly vulnerable against Borussia Dortmund. Ross County certainly won’t be attacking with the same firepower and don’t have the same quality, but Celtic’s midweek thrashing may leave some psychological scars, and Ross County’s pressing game could expose cracks.
From a betting perspective, combining a Celtic win with both teams to score offers excellent value. Celtic’s firepower, especially through the likes of Adam Idah and Reo Hatate, should prove too much for Ross County’s backline. Yet, with Ross County showing they can produce late-game drama and Celtic potentially still shaken from their European outing, the Staggies might just have enough to find a goal. Our expert at BettingTips4You.com, Herrin Kendrick, summarised it best: “Celtic will be out for blood after the Dortmund defeat, but don’t underestimate Ross County’s ability to hit back, especially in front of their home crowd. Both teams scoring is on the cards, but Celtic’s class will shine through.”
Correct Score Prediction: Ross County 1-3 Celtic
Given our best bet is backing Celtic to win and both teams to score, a 3-1 victory for Celtic looks the way to go. Celtic’s dominance in attack is undeniable—20 goals in six matches speaks for itself—and it’s hard to imagine Ross County holding out for long, even if they manage to frustrate the Hoops early on. With the likes of Idah and Hatate pulling the strings in the final third, Celtic should find the net multiple times.
Ross County, meanwhile, have enough about them to make life difficult for Celtic’s defenders. Their aerial prowess—three of their seven goals this season have come from headers—could trouble a Celtic back line still finding their feet without Cameron Carter-Vickers. If Ronan Hale features, you’d back him to snatch a consolation goal for the Staggies, likely capitalising on a set-piece or a rare counter-attack.
But in the grand scheme of things, Celtic’s attacking firepower should secure a win for the visitors, and a 3-1 scoreline fits the narrative of a match where Celtic dominate but Ross County refuse to go down without a fight.
