Mourinho’s focus might be partially diverted to the upcoming Europa League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol, but rectifying Roma’s domestic form takes precedence. With Tammy Abraham and Paulo Dybala both struggling with injuries, Lukaku’s role becomes even more pivotal.
Historically, Empoli shouldn’t present a daunting challenge, given that Roma boast a winning streak against them dating back to February 2007. But football, as they say, is unpredictable.

Paolo Zanetti, Empoli’s coach, is feeling the heat.
