Liverpool’s Inconsistency Hinders Progress
Liverpool’s season has been characterised by inconsistent form, both at home and away. This problem was also evident last weekend, when they started the game dreadfully but were able to fight back from a two-goal deficit to secure a point against high-flying Arsenal.
Despite their fighting spirit, which was surely something positive, the Reds are now finding themselves in a precarious position, 12 points adrift of the much-coveted top-four spot, basically in no man’s land with only nine games remaining in the Premier League.
Leeds United’s Home Advantage
Leeds will be hoping to make the most of their home form to get an edge in this affair. The Whites are pretty difficult to beat at Elland Road, having avoided defeat in 10 of their 15 Premier League home games this term.
They do, however, still have significant issues in their game, and their defensive vulnerabilities have been exposed several times recently, as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven league matches. What will give hope to Leeds is that Liverpool’s away form this season has been far from impressive, with the Reds having been able to win only three of their 15 top-flight road trips.
