  • Kosovo are averaging two goals per game in the Nations League this season, despite missing their top scorer, Vedat Muriqi, through injury.
  • Cyprus have conceded seven goals in their last two matches, underlining their defensive vulnerabilities ahead of this clash.
  • The last time these two teams met, Kosovo ran out 4-0 winners, and they will be confident of another comfortable victory.

Our Tips

Rennes to Win to Nil
7/5 - odds when tipped

Reasoning
Backing Rennes to win without conceding is the strongest bet. Le Havre's poor attack, with just one goal in five games, and Rennes' solid home form, including clean sheets, support this prediction.
Rennes 2-0
13/2 - odds when tipped

Reasoning
A 2-0 victory for Rennes seems likely, given their solid home form and Le Havre's defensive struggles. Rennes should control possession, and Le Havre’s weak attack is unlikely to pose much threat.

As the UEFA Nations League continues to unfold, Kosovo will face Cyprus at the Pristina City Stadium, with both teams needing points for very different reasons. Kosovo, buoyed by back-to-back wins, are closing in on a promotion playoff spot, while Cyprus find themselves battling to avoid relegation, reeling from a string of heavy defeats. The stakes are high, and both sides have plenty to play for, but will Cyprus be able to reverse their fortunes, or will Kosovo maintain their upward trajectory?

Kosovo, under Franco Foda’s management, have been finding their stride in recent matches, particularly with their 2-1 victory over Lithuania at the weekend. Meanwhile, Cyprus are licking their wounds after a 3-0 defeat at home to Romania, adding to a series of dismal results that have them struggling to stay afloat in League C. A clash between a team on the rise and one stuck in a rut—it’s all set for an intriguing encounter in Pristina.

Best Bet: Kosovo to Win

There’s plenty of evidence to suggest Kosovo are the side to back in this contest, and it’s hard to look past them as favourites to take all three points. They’ve secured consecutive victories, including a convincing 4-0 thrashing of Cyprus in the reverse fixture. Although Kosovo are missing their star striker Vedat Muriqi, this has not slowed their momentum. Instead, they’ve shown resilience and adaptability, with other players like Edon Zhegrova and Ermal Krasniqi stepping up to provide key goals.

Cyprus, by contrast, are in freefall. Their defence has been porous, shipping seven goals in their last two games, including a three-goal drubbing by Romania. They’ve lost six of their last competitive home matches, with a staggering aggregate scoreline of 19-1. On the road, they’ve fared no better, suffering heavy losses to the likes of Spain, Norway, and Georgia. It’s difficult to see how they can muster a response, especially when their last encounter with Kosovo resulted in a humiliating 4-0 loss.

Kosovo’s attack, led by Albion Rrahmani in the absence of Muriqi, will fancy their chances against a Cyprus backline that has shown little resistance. Milot Rashica and Zhegrova, both dangerous on the wings, will look to exploit Cyprus’ defensive frailties, while midfield maestro Muharrem Jashari could also play a crucial role in unlocking the visitors’ defence.

The numbers back up Kosovo’s superiority. They’ve scored six goals in their last three Nations League games and possess an impressive goals-per-game ratio of 2. Their total of 11.3 shots per game, with 4 of those on target, suggests that they have plenty of firepower even without their main man up top. Cyprus, meanwhile, have only scored one goal in their three matches, with a woeful average of 0.3 goals per game.

Steve Harrington, BettingTips4You.com’s resident expert, summarises it neatly: “Kosovo have the momentum, the home advantage, and the firepower to take down a Cyprus side that simply can’t keep a clean sheet. Even without Muriqi, expect a comfortable win for the hosts.”

In terms of form, attacking prowess, and defensive stability, Kosovo are in a different league to their opponents. Cyprus’ poor run of results, coupled with Kosovo’s recent form, makes this an obvious pick for punters. It’s unlikely that Cyprus will be able to plug the gaps at the back in time for this match, and Kosovo should dominate proceedings from start to finish.

Correct Score Prediction: Kosovo 3-0 Cyprus

Based on both teams’ current form and the data available, a 3-0 scoreline in favour of Kosovo seems a logical outcome. Kosovo’s attacking statistics are promising, having found the back of the net six times in three games, while Cyprus have conceded a whopping seven goals over the same period. It’s hard to see how the Cypriots will be able to keep Kosovo at bay, especially away from home.

The last time these two met, Kosovo were 4-0 victors, and while Cyprus may tighten up slightly after that embarrassment, the difference in quality remains vast. Kosovo’s average of 11.3 shots per game, coupled with Cyprus’ defensive frailties—allowing an average of 2.3 goals per game—points to a fairly straightforward victory for the home side. The Dardanians are likely to dominate possession, with their ball possession percentage sitting at 53.7%, giving them plenty of opportunities to test the Cyprus defence.

There is little evidence to suggest Cyprus will pose a significant threat going forward. Their lone goal in this Nations League campaign came from Ioannis Pittas, but with just 2.7 shots on target per game and a possession rate of 41%, they are not likely to trouble Kosovo’s goalkeeper Arijanet Muric much. Kosovo should keep a clean sheet while adding a few more goals to their tally, setting them up nicely for their promotion push.
