Since 2002 only four players have lifted the Wimbledon trophy: Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. And the question we ask ourselves every year is: when this dominance will end? Could it be the right time this year? Well, we believe it will.

With the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Casper Ruud and Cameron Norrie all having terrible records on grass, the man that we believe will break this dominance is Hubert Hurkacz. He should challenge Djokovic for a place in the final unless the Serb stumbles upon a roadblock earlier. Surely Djokovic can never be underestimated, but looking at the price, he is short. We won’t be backing him, although we recognize that he is still the most likely winner. But there is lots of value in Hubert Hurkacz, who reached the semi-finals here last season and has been on a very positive trajectory since. His odds are very generous, considering he has been in excellent form lately, and it is coming fresh from his win in Halle.

The bottom half of the draw is a lot more competitive, as even if Nadal doesn’t recover in time, many potential winners will clash against each other. The likes of Berrettini, Bautista Agut, Kyrgios, Tsitsipas, Auger-Aliassime, Evans and Cilic. It is difficult to pick who will survive in this part of the draw, making Hubert a much more potentially rewarding bet. Surely it won’t be easy for him to go all the way, but he has shown last year that he loves to play on this grass, and since losing to Berrettini in the semis, he seems to have made progress, especially in the mental aspect of the game. This could be his moment if things go a bit on his way!
