🇵🇹 Portugal vs Denmark

Rationale:
Portugal have their backs against the wall following a flat first-leg display in Copenhagen. Denmark walked away with a deserved 1-0 win, and it could’ve been worse for Roberto Martinez’s side had Christian Eriksen not missed a penalty. Despite boasting elite talent, Portugal looked disjointed in midfield and failed to convert possession into real danger. That being said, with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes expected to start again, goals can’t be far behind. Denmark, for their part, showed excellent attacking rhythm with Rasmus Hojlund adding much-needed presence in the box. Given both sides’ attacking qualities and the stakes involved, this match has all the ingredients for a goal at either end. After a strong comeback in Plovdiv, the Republic of Ireland will be confident of sealing the deal at home. Hallgrimsson’s men showed grit and discipline after going behind early, eventually taking a 2-1 lead thanks to a smart finish by Azaz and a crucial header from Matt Doherty. Back at the Aviva, they’ll be targeting a clean sheet and another win. Bulgaria, meanwhile, continue to underwhelm in the final third.
