- Charleroi are unbeaten in their last 6 home league fixtures, with 5 straight wins at home.
Dundee vs Hibernian
John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Dundee return to top-flight league duties in improving form under new boss Steven Pressley. After a shaky start in the Scottish League Cup group phase, they closed out their campaign with two emphatic victories, scoring eight times in two games and looking far more cohesive. At Dens Park, they’ll be motivated to put on a show after a turbulent season that almost saw them drop.
Hibernian, in contrast, have seen their momentum stall. Their European dreams were crushed by Midtjylland in the Europa League qualifiers, and their form has been underwhelming for several weeks. Just two victories in their last 12 games shows this is not the confident, high-scoring Hibs side of old. They were also winless in their final four fixtures of last season.
Dundee’s home advantage, their attacking resurgence led by Simon Murray, and Hibernian’s continued inconsistency make the home win a solid opening leg in this accumulator.
Best bet – Dundee to win

Celtic vs St Mirren
Herrin Kendrick; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Celtic start their title defence with a fixture they’ve historically dominated. Brendan Rodgers’ men ended the 2024-25 season as champions once more, and their pre-season performances have been impressive – wins over Newcastle and Sporting Lisbon show their strength in depth. Even without Jota, they look sharp and ready.
St Mirren have been on a fine run themselves, winning their League Cup group and going unbeaten in pre-season, but they’ve not beaten Celtic in 13 consecutive meetings. Their last victory at Celtic Park was over a decade ago. Despite good form, they’re often overwhelmed by the pace and pressing of Rodgers’ side.
Celtic are at home, with a squad that has barely missed a beat, and a dominant record in this exact fixture. With attacking threats like Idah, Maeda and Hatate, they have more than enough to win convincingly and keep a clean sheet in the process.
Best bet – Celtic to win to nil
PSV Eindhoven vs Go Ahead Eagles
Wolfgang Shotten; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
PSV’s remarkable finish to last season saw them leapfrog Ajax to clinch the Eredivisie title, winning their last seven league games in dominant fashion. They’ve made the Johan Cruyff Shield a regular stop on their calendar and have claimed the trophy three times in the past four years.
Go Ahead Eagles, while deserving winners of the KNVB Cup, have been hit by a major blow – manager Paul Simonis has departed for Wolfsburg, and Melvin Boel takes over for his first match. The timing couldn’t be worse, facing a PSV team packed with attacking depth. With Ricardo Pepi fit again, and Noa Lang and Johan Bakayoko providing width, PSV’s firepower should be too much for the visitors.
PSV are motivated, more experienced at this level, and will want to start their season by lifting silverware in front of their fans. A commanding win looks very likely.
Best bet – PSV to win with a -1 handicap
Charleroi vs Sint-Truiden
Linus Bergström; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Charleroi may have started the 2025-26 campaign with a 2-2 draw, but their performance showed fighting spirit. Two late goals against OH Leuven rescued a point and extended their unbeaten home record to six games. They were one of Belgium’s strongest home sides last season, with 37 points from home fixtures — the fourth-best tally in the division.
Sint-Truiden were excellent in their season opener, beating Gent 3-1. However, that game aside, their away record remains fragile — only one win in their last seven league matches on the road. They also struggled against Charleroi last season, losing both head-to-head meetings.
Charleroi have strength in depth and have looked particularly dangerous from set-pieces, scoring twice from corners last time out. With home fans behind them and momentum building, they are well positioned to secure a win against a team they have regularly outplayed.
Best bet – Charleroi to win
