Even if the South African Open is not part of the 2022 DP World Tour, this should be an interesting tournament this week, and our golf betting experts have looked at the opportunities here.

Main Bet: Wilco Nienaber
It will be the second time that this tournament is hosted at the Gary Player Country Club. Wilco Nienaber has performed well from tee to green, and it is ranking 16th for Greens in Regulation. He will now be back to a tournament where he ranked sixth in that category on his way to a tied 11th. His recent form has also been good, as he had two top 10s in the last five starts, so he will look forward to ending the year in the best possible way. He tends to do well on the Sunshine Tour, as, in the last 11 starts, he managed to secure eight top 25 finishes, which included two-second places and success in the Dimension Data Pro-Am. He will be keen to land his first win on home soil and surely has great chances to do so.

Louis De Jager (Each-Way) To Win
£20 bet returns £520 with Betvictor

Each-way Bet: Louis De Jager
Louis De Jager has won five times on the Sunshine Tour and finished tied 14th in this tournament a year ago. He was also leading in the Canary Islands and at The Belfry, and landed a spot in the field at Royal St George’s, despite couldn’t take part due to illness. Recently he was back in good form in the South African PGA Championship, as he was leading the tournament with two strokes at halfway. Eventually, he ended up in third place, and now he is back to a court that he has genuinely enjoyed in the past. He was tied 14h on debut here in 2008 and was tied sixth in 2011, 5th in 2016 and second in 2018. He has never finished outside the top 25 on his appearances here, and we expect he will be in contention once again this week.
