✅ Czech Republic vs Faroe Islands
Wolfgang Shotten; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Ivan Hasek’s Czech Republic side return to international action on the back of an impressive Nations League campaign and face an ideal opponent to open their 2026 qualifying run. The Czechs, who are unbeaten in 17 of their last 18 home fixtures, have been dominant on their own patch, winning each of their last seven with a combined 15 goals scored.
Their opponents, Faroe Islands, have lost all seven previous meetings without scoring a goal, and given their poor away record – winless in nine World Cup qualifiers on the road – this looks another uphill battle. They’ve also managed to score more than once in just one of their last nine international matches.
With players like Tomas Soucek controlling the midfield and Patrik Schick leading the attack, expect the hosts to take early control. Czech Republic have the tools to score in both halves and should maintain pressure throughout, making this a strong pick.
Best bet – Czech Republic to Win Both Halves
England to win both halves
4/5 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning England’s class and depth should be too much for a limited Latvian side, who struggled even against Andorra. Backing the hosts to control both periods of play feels safe given their dominance and momentum.
|
✅ Israel vs Estonia
John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Although Israel’s recent results include a 1-0 win over Belgium and a 0-0 draw against France, they are not known for free-flowing attacking play – particularly on neutral soil in Hungary, where they’ve been based due to regional conflict. Goals have been scarce in their games, with four of the last six featuring two goals or fewer.
Estonia’s form doesn’t inspire attacking confidence either. They’ve failed to find the net in five of their last six fixtures, and their most recent qualifiers have been flat, toothless affairs. Their frontline is short on international pedigree, and their approach away from home is often cautious and compact.
Given the nature of both teams – Israel’s patient style and Estonia’s defensive tendencies – this match could easily become a tense, low-scoring battle. With both sides aware of the importance of not losing their opening qualifier, a cagey affair is expected.
Best bet – Under 2.5 Goals
Albania -2.0 Asian handicap
15/8 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning Sylvinho’s Albania must respond and should find few obstacles against an Andorra team lacking goals and belief. The hosts need goals and confidence; this could be the perfect fixture to deliver both.
|
✅ Wales vs Kazakhstan
Steve Harrington; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Craig Bellamy’s tenure as Wales boss has already delivered clear improvements, especially defensively. The Dragons have recorded clean sheets in three of their last four at home, and remain unbeaten in six under their new manager. Their shape and discipline have returned, even without Aaron Ramsey and Harry Wilson.
Kazakhstan’s recent form has been dire. They’ve suffered seven defeats in their last eight competitive fixtures and failed to score in six Nations League matches. With no World Cup qualifying wins in 21 attempts, and having failed to score in friendlies against the likes of North Korea, their attacking outlook looks bleak.
Wales, who boast energetic attacking threats in Brennan Johnson and Daniel James, are well placed to control this match from start to finish. With the visitors likely to sit deep and offer little going forward, expect Bellamy’s men to shut them out and claim three points.
Best bet – Wales to Win to Nil
Poland to win to nil | |
7/10 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning Poland should have too much attacking quality for Malta, who struggle on the road. A clean sheet and a couple of goals seem likely given Malta’s poor away record and Poland’s increasing sharpness.
|
✅ Barnsley vs Cambridge United
Gram Dodd; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Barnsley’s defence has been anything but reliable in recent weeks, conceding in each of their last three games and winning just one of their past five at Oakwell. New interim boss Conor Hourihane is still looking to steady the ship.
Cambridge, despite sitting near the bottom, have been creating chances – they managed three big opportunities and 1.5 xG against Peterborough despite failing to score. Neil Harris’s side are desperate for points and can cause problems on the counter.
Both teams are unpredictable and neither has a consistent defence. With Barnsley needing to attack to stay in playoff contention and Cambridge fighting to avoid the drop, this could open up quickly. Past meetings suggest goals, and with pressure on both ends, a BTTS outcome seems likely.
Best bet – Both Teams to Score
Both teams to score | |
1/1 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning Finland’s attack should click against a leaky Lithuania side, but their own fragile defence may let the hosts grab a goal. A close match with action on both ends feels the most plausible outcome. |
Saturday’s Super Double
Two alternative bets to double your value (different to those tipped above):
- Israel to Win
- Czech Republic to Keep a Clean Sheet
Israel should have enough quality to edge past Estonia, who struggle on the road. Meanwhile, Czech Republic’s defensive record at home and the Faroe Islands’ toothless attack make a clean sheet highly probable. These two selections combine value and strong form trends for a confident Saturday double.
Monday’s Super Double | |
2/1 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning Bellingham was threatening throughout against Albania and will relish more freedom against Latvia’s porous defence. Meanwhile, Albania may dominate Andorra but tend to keep their games relatively tight. These two selections offer value, with one focused on individual quality and the other on tactical conservatism in what could be a routine win. |
