Today’s racing serves up a busy summer schedule across Britain, with flat action dominating the cards and several fascinating handicaps set to test punters’ judgement. From the tight turns of Brighton to the sweeping straight at Kempton, there are a host of opportunities for well–treated runners to strike. Wolverhampton rounds off the evening with its usual strong all–weather programme, offering another chance for consistent performers to showcase their talents under the floodlights.
Our team at BettingTips4You have studied the races in depth and drawn out four bets which form today’s Lucky 15. Each selection has been carefully chosen by one of our experts, who provide their reasoning for why these runners can shine in their respective contests. It is a combination designed not for quantity but quality, and the strength of the reasoning behind each choice is what underpins the potential of this multiple bet.

Tuesday’s Lucky 15 | |
1,315/1 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning This Lucky 15 combines four well–reasoned selections from our expert panel, each chosen for their proven form, conditions, and handicapping angles. With strong cases made for Irezumi, Ballsgrove Boy, Havana Sky and Thundering Breeze, the acca offers a balanced mix of reliability and potential upside across Brighton, Kempton and Wolverhampton. |
15:15 Brighton – Irezumi
John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Irezumi has long had an affinity with Brighton’s undulating mile–and–a–half track and his return here comes at an ideal moment. He captured a race on this very card twelve months ago and has proven repeatedly that this quirky venue plays to his strengths. Already this season, he has registered two placed finishes from three outings at the track, which confirms he remains highly competitive under these conditions.

Trainer Jim Boyle has opted to make further adjustments, adding a hood to the cheekpieces the horse already wears. This comes after Irezumi proved too fresh from the stalls on his most recent effort at Lingfield over a slightly longer trip, compromising his chances early on. That run should not be taken at face value given he had previously scored over one mile three and a half furlongs. Off his current handicap mark, he looks well positioned to bounce back, particularly now that the headgear combination should help him relax into the contest. Provided he settles and finds his rhythm, he holds strong claims of repeating his past success at this venue.
17:05 Kempton – Ballsgrove Boy
Herrin Kendrick; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Ballsgrove Boy has shaped into a consistent all–weather specialist, and his return to Kempton could hardly be better timed. His latest turf effort at Newmarket was again unconvincing, but reverting to the Polytrack, where he has been thriving this year, puts him firmly back in the reckoning. The gelding has already enjoyed a course–and–distance win here in May, when showing both speed and determination to edge out Blewburton. Since then, he has built on that victory with further placed efforts at Lingfield and Kempton, culminating in another success at Wolverhampton in July.

Martin Dunne’s runner has proven particularly reliable on the artificial surfaces, finishing in the top three on every start for his current trainer across five all–weather outings. That level of consistency is hard to ignore. Tuesday’s race presents conditions he knows well, and with a proven ability to travel strongly before finding plenty in the finish, Ballsgrove Boy looks primed to continue his impressive sequence. Against rivals who are less reliable, his record suggests he is the one most likely to deliver another bold run.
20:10 Wolverhampton – Havana Sky
Gram Dodd; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Havana Sky has yet to hit top stride this term, but signs of a revival have been clear, most recently when shaping well at Chelmsford. On that occasion, fitted with cheekpieces for the first time, he made smooth progress into contention only to be hampered a furlong from home. That interference ended his winning chance, but the way he picked up again once in the clear was highly encouraging. It suggested he retains plenty of ability and that a victory is not far away.
What adds to the appeal here is the handicapper’s leniency. Despite effectively running off his last winning mark at Chelmsford, Havana Sky has been eased a further pound for this contest. That leaves him appearing well treated relative to his past achievements, especially considering his proven record of striking form once he drops to this sort of level. Wolverhampton’s six–furlong test is straightforward enough for him to settle early and unleash his turn of foot late on. With Rossa Ryan booked again, and the cheekpieces retained, everything seems aligned for him to finally get his reward for recent consistency.
15:30 Kempton – Thundering Breeze
Steve Harrington; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Thundering Breeze has often hinted at ability, usually when starting at bigger odds, and she looks ready to put it all together in this mile handicap. At Lingfield last time, money came for her and she travelled well in rear, but when the race developed she could not match the acceleration of the eventual leaders. Even so, she shaped as if the ability was there, just lacking the perfect set–up.
A switch to Kempton could make the difference, as the track provides a stiffer test than Lingfield and is likely to play more to her strengths. The application of cheekpieces for the first time is another important factor. Horses often sharpen up with new headgear, and this filly has looked like one who could benefit from a little extra focus. With those adjustments, plus the evidence that she has been knocking on the door, she appears primed to produce her most competitive effort to date. At the weights, she looks attractively placed to take advantage of conditions that should finally bring out her best.
