A new week of summer racing arrives with competitive action across several tracks, and Tuesday’s cards offer plenty of interest for value seekers. We’ve taken a close look at the fields and, with the help of our four in-house analysts, have put together a Lucky 15 for August 12. Each leg of this bet comes from a different meeting and distance, ensuring a variety of scenarios where our selections can thrive.
From an experienced sprinting mare aiming to follow up last week’s success, to a promising juvenile dropping back to his optimal trip, to a handicapper returning to more suitable conditions, and finally to a lightly raced filly ready to progress, each of these horses brings a compelling case. The reasoning behind each selection has been put together by our four experts, each drawing on years of form study and race-watching to provide punters with confidence.
This bet has been placed with William Hill where new customers can get a very generous sign up offer by clicking below.

Wednesday’s Lucky 15 | |
226/1 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning Our Lucky 15 for Wednesday September 3 combines four horses identified by our experts as standout opportunities: Spuddling, Risen Again, Just Keep Flying and Song Brocade. Each has compelling reasons to deliver today, blending proven form, favourable conditions and handicapping advantages. Together, they create a balanced yet ambitious multiple bet. |
Hamilton 17:40 – Happier
John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale: Happier lines up here just seven days after a decisive victory at Catterick, where she won with authority, stretching clear by three lengths. That performance has earned her a 5lb penalty, but in this apprentice handicap, Jake Dickson’s 5lb claim effectively offsets that extra burden. While Dickson is still in the early stages of his career with only 34 rides under his belt, he has already steered home two winners and is learning his trade in a highly respected yard.

The mare’s current wellbeing is not in question — her recent win was full of running — and she has shown previously that Hamilton holds no mysteries for her. She has competed off higher marks than today’s, so the revised weight should not pose a major problem. This is a tightly contested five-furlong sprint, but Happier’s proven turn of foot, allied with the useful claim in the saddle, gives her a live chance of doubling up.
Hamilton 18:10 – Stoic Poet
Herrin Kendrick; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale: Stoic Poet stands out in this two-year-old maiden thanks to both his experience and the solid level of form he has shown so far. Representing Iain Jardine’s Dumfries and Galloway operation, the Far Above colt has three runs under his belt, a tally that already puts him ahead of several of his rivals in terms of race-craft. His performances to date have set a respectable target for others to match, and there is every reason to believe more can come.

Last time, he tackled seven furlongs, but the return to six today looks sensible given the pace he has shown in his earlier outings. The booking of Paul Mulrennan for a third consecutive start is another positive — the pair have been combining well and Mulrennan’s judgement from the saddle is an asset in juvenile contests. With valuable sprint entries on his agenda, this looks a perfect opportunity for Stoic Poet to take the next step forward.
Lingfield 15:00 – Gilet
Gram Dodd; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale: Gilet’s last appearance at Glorious Goodwood can be overlooked; the race developed into a messy affair, and his path was blocked at a crucial stage. That was over a trip that appeared to stretch his stamina, and the combination of unsuitable distance and traffic problems was always likely to hinder his chance. The drop back to seven furlongs today, and crucially the switch to the all-weather, should bring him right back into the reckoning.
Earlier in the season, Gilet had run a superb race to finish runner-up in a competitive handicap on Lockinge day at Newbury, clocking a solid time figure. His all-weather record is another reason for optimism, with consistent form in similar conditions from his younger days. Back in calmer waters compared to the deep three-year-old handicaps he has been contesting, and at a venue that should play to his strengths, the Warren Greatrex-trained gelding looks ready to get competitive again.
Carlisle 16:25 – Reenie’s Dream
Steve Harrington; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale: Reenie’s Dream shaped with promise in her early outings in maiden company, and her switch to handicaps at Doncaster last month saw a further step in the right direction. She finished third on that occasion, doing her best work late and giving the impression that more was to come. Her trainer’s decision to keep her at seven furlongs but move to the more testing Carlisle track could be key to unlocking extra improvement.
By Nathaniel, she is bred to appreciate a stamina test, and while the trip remains the same, the uphill finish at Carlisle should bring her staying power into play. There were signs at Doncaster that she was still learning on the job, but the way she finished that day, and the difficulty her jockey had in pulling her up afterwards, suggest she will progress with each run. Well treated on her current mark, she could prove a different proposition this time.pecially if he can get a clear passage from his draw. Given his proven track form, favourable weight, and optimal trip, Leadenhall looks primed to put recent disappointments behind him with a bold showing.
