Lucky 15 Tips: Sunday July 20 – Can One Look, Bollin Neil & Arclight Lead This Big Value Bet?

There’s no shortage of opportunities across Sunday’s racing, and we’ve drawn together a carefully curated Lucky 15 from four meetings with value running through each leg. All four selections come courtesy of our BettingTips4You experts—John Pentin, Herrin Kendrick, Gram Dodd and Steve Harrington—who have identified key angles, trainer intent, course records, and tactical advantages. This isn’t a random collection of fancies, but a properly balanced fourfold with each tip carrying a weight of reasoning behind it.

Our selections include a proven Curragh specialist stepping up in distance, a well-handicapped chaser returning to her preferred code, a veteran stayer who could relish softening ground at Redcar, and a filly ready to build on a runner-up finish at Newton Abbot. Individually, each looks like a solid bet—but combine them and you have a Lucky 15 with the potential for a substantial return.

Let’s break down each leg, meet the tipster behind it, and explore the rationale behind their confidence.

Reasoning
This Lucky 15 brings together four well-reasoned selections across Sunday’s racing, each identified by our expert tipsters. With strong course form, tactical switches, and soft-ground preference all in play, the acca offers both logic and value. If each runner performs to potential, the combined return could be highly rewarding.

14:30 Curragh – One Look

John Pentin; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

All roads lead back to the Curragh for One Look, and rightly so. Her profile is strikingly consistent whenever she races at this venue, and her strongest form has repeatedly come on this turf. That was seen again earlier this season when she finished second to the top-class Porta Fortuna over course and distance, having previously beaten Naomi Lapaglia—who reappears here—in a Group 3 contest on the same track.

Although her Royal Ascot effort was underwhelming, that race featured a stronger field, and the wide trip she endured didn’t suit her natural rhythm. Back in more familiar surroundings, she looks poised to return to her best. The penalty she carries for her previous Group 3 success is the only minor concern, but stepping up to 1m2f for the first time could easily bring about improvement. Billy Lee knows how to get the best from her, and trainer Paddy Twomey has placed her perfectly to bounce back in this less demanding company.

15:25 Redcar – Bollin Neil

Herrin Kendrick; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

It may have been more than three years since Bollin Neil last tasted victory on the Flat, but his recent profile—combined with the ground forecast and booking of rising star Elizabeth Gale—makes him a fascinating runner in the 2m handicap at Redcar. Trainer Tim Easterby has confirmed that ease underfoot is crucial for the nine-year-old, and with the likelihood of softer conditions on Sunday, this may be the opportunity he’s been waiting for.

Bollin Neil has been kept active over hurdles recently, where he’s shown a reasonable level of form, and that fitness edge should serve him well against rivals who may be more one-paced over this extended distance. Gale’s 10 wins this year underline her rising status, and the fact this is her first ride for Easterby only adds weight to the belief that she’s been sought out for a specific job. With the yard’s older handicappers often taking a few spins to peak, this could be the day it all comes together for this stayer.

15:13 Stratford – Arclight

Gram Dodd; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Arclight returns to fences in the 2m1f Skip Hire Flyer Handicap Chase at Stratford, and that could be the catalyst for a winning performance. Nicky Henderson’s six-year-old had a prolific run last year when switching to chasing, rattling off a sequence of three victories in quick succession. She then stepped up in grade, competing in tougher company where she understandably found it harder to land a blow.

More recently, she’s been kept busy over hurdles, most notably running in a match race at Newton Abbot that kept her ticking over. Dropping back in trip and back to chasing, she could well be thrown in at the weights. James Bowen takes the ride and has built a solid rapport with her, and this small field should help her find a comfortable rhythm in the early stages. With Finest View looking like the main threat, Arclight’s tactical speed and proven jumping ability could prove decisive at the business end.

17:17 Newton Abbot – Fire Flyer

Steve Harrington; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

The last leg of the Lucky 15 comes in the 2m1f maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot where Fire Flyer can go one better after a solid second at this venue earlier this month. That was just his second run under rules, and he shaped with real promise, finishing clear of the remainder in behind a more experienced winner. He travelled fluently and jumped with greater assurance than on debut, indicating that the penny may now have dropped.

Trainer comments suggest they’ve been taking their time with him, and with natural improvement, he ought to find himself firmly in contention here. The slight ease in ground should also play to his strengths, as his pedigree points to him appreciating conditions with a bit more give. If he can build on his recent effort, Fire Flyer could easily outclass his rivals in a race that lacks strength in depth. With another straightforward run, it would be no surprise to see him break his duck today.
