Reasoning
Today’s Lucky 15 is built around progressive types and proven performers with strong track profiles. From Sudu’s rapid rise in handicaps to Lady Iman’s Group 1-adjacent form, each runner brings a compelling case. Native Warrior and Tactical Formation complete a fourfold packed with potential value across two competitive cards.

13:20 Goodwood – Sudu

Herrin Kendrick; Flat Racing Specialist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Sudu arrives at Goodwood on the back of a dominant success, a victory that clearly suggested he’s stepped forward in a big way. That latest outing saw him romp home by a considerable seven-length margin at Epsom, and he now faces a higher level of opposition in this Class 2 event. However, the new rating of 86 may still underestimate his ceiling, especially considering how strongly he galloped through the line last time.

This son of Teofilo has been shaping like a horse ready to come into his own now that stamina is being properly tested. The longer trip here over a mile and a half seems to be what he’s been crying out for, particularly when factoring in that he’s out of a Dubawi mare—ideal breeding for this sort of stamina test. Silvestre De Sousa, who partnered him on debut, is back on board, and that familiarity could prove crucial.

Trainer Roger Varian clearly thinks plenty of him, and De Sousa doesn’t waste rides at this level. The way Sudu cruised to victory at Epsom implies that he’s not just improved physically, but mentally switched on as well. If he turns up in the same mood, this sharp improver may simply outclass these.

14:30 Goodwood – Lady Iman

Steve Harrington; Two-Year-Old Form Analyst at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Lady Iman steps into the Molecomb Stakes carrying the weight of some seriously smart form. Trained by Ger Lyons and partnered this time by Ryan Moore, the filly brings experience and quality into what looks a winnable Group 3. Her most recent run at the Curragh, when only two lengths behind the classy Beautify in a six-furlong Group 2, speaks volumes. Now she drops back to the minimum trip of five furlongs—arguably her optimum distance.

Earlier in the season, she got the better of True Love, who has since won the Queen Mary and absolutely bolted up in the Railway Stakes. That gives real substance to her early-season performances, and there’s every chance she’s still improving. Moore, a top-level operator, is more than just a late call-up here—he’s a serious upgrade on most and can be trusted to get the most out of her at this crucial stage.

Being drawn low in stall two isn’t the concern it might be in bigger fields, especially given her gate speed. With only seven others to contend with, track position should be manageable. All things considered, she holds a strong hand and brings Group 1-quality collateral form into a Group 3 test. That makes her extremely dangerous.

14:10 Redcar – Tactical Formation

John Pentin; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Tactical Formation made a pleasing start to his career when running a strong fourth at York on debut. The Starman colt travelled like a horse with ability but understandably faded late on, having done a fair bit early. With that initial experience behind him, improvement is highly likely, and he now lines up at Redcar with an ideal opportunity to go several places better.

The Richard Fahey yard is beginning to hit stride, particularly with their juveniles, and this one looks to have plenty more to offer. He’s one of only a couple from the yard to hold a Gimcrack entry, which speaks volumes about their long-term expectations. The fact that he was such a significant breeze-up purchase further underlines the point—he’s clearly been catching the eye behind closed doors.

Conditions at Redcar should suit, and the smaller field means he’s less likely to get crowded out during key stages. If he breaks well, as he did at York, and gets into a rhythm, there’s every chance he’ll go very close. With natural progression and fitness now on his side, this could be the first of several wins.

16:55 Goodwood – Native Warrior

Gram Dodd; Senior Tipster at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Native Warrior bypassed a potential tilt at the International at Ascot last weekend, where he had been strongly fancied, but this Class 3 contest represents a more manageable assignment with a big prize still on offer. That decision could prove wise, as this race lacks the depth of a top-tier handicap and offers him an ideal set-up to shine.

Last time out, he delivered a classy performance at Newcastle, regaining his best form and winning a well-contested event. He’s got an entry in the Golden Mile later this week, a race he was due to run in 12 months ago before ground concerns ruled him out. That tells us connections clearly believe he’s well-handicapped and capable at this level.

Drawn in six today, he should get a good position under Christophe Soumillon. He’s had the measure of some solid handicappers recently, and dropping back to seven furlongs now looks ideal. Unlike past outings where stamina was tested too far, this trip keeps him sharp and travelling strongly throughout. If Soumillon gets him into a good rhythm early, he could easily outkick these rivals in the final stages.
