Reasoning
Today’s Lucky 15 blends proven performers with progressive contenders. Arisaig drops in class with a big chance, Zanthos returns to her best track, Zeus Olympios seeks to maintain his unbeaten streak, and Banderas looks well-handicapped back over hurdles. Together, the quartet form a strong multiple with plenty of upside.

13:15 Newmarket – Arisaig

John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You

Rationale:
Arisaig stands out in this Listed mile contest for fillies and mares. Her most recent effort in a Group 2 at Goodwood confirmed she belongs at this level. She chased home Jonquil that day, failing by less than a length, but it marked a new career peak. Dropping into a calmer Listed field should make life easier and the Johnston yard know how to get the best out of their fillies.

The daughter of Harry Angel has always hinted at untapped potential, and the step back down in grade is significant given how well she acquitted herself last time. With Tom Marquand back in the saddle – a jockey who has been successful on her previously – conditions look ideal for her to strike. She possesses a turn of foot that can be decisive here, and if she runs to the same level as at Goodwood, she is very hard to oppose.

14:25 Newmarket – Zanthos

Herrin Kendrick; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You

Rationale:
Zanthos is a filly who deserves another chance to showcase her ability. She created a strong impression when scoring on debut at Newmarket for Oisin Murphy, travelling smoothly and quickening with authority. However, she then disappointed at Leicester when a very short-priced favourite. That run is easy enough to forgive, as she never found a rhythm and was unable to replicate the fluency of her first appearance. Returning to Newmarket, where she showed her best form, should reignite her spark.

The Crisford team clearly think a lot of her, having given her lofty Group 1 entries later this autumn, and they wouldn’t be doing so without confidence in her raw ability. With Murphy riding at the top of his game, the stage is set for her to bounce back and underline why she is considered a filly with a big future. A strong showing here would reaffirm her credentials at a higher level.

15:00 Newmarket – Zeus Olympios

Gram Dodd; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You

Rationale:
Zeus Olympios arrives unbeaten after three career starts and each performance has been more convincing than the last. His most recent victory in a Group 3 at Haydock saw him stride clear in the closing stages, still showing signs of inexperience yet managing to dominate a good field. The manner of that success suggested he has the constitution to continue climbing the ladder, and this next step up in class looks well within reach.

His ability to travel strongly and then lengthen at the finish is a potent weapon on the Rowley Mile, a track that demands balance and stamina. With each run he is learning more about his job, and the promise of further progress is clear. Given the confidence connections have shown by aiming him at this level so soon, it would be no surprise if he maintained his flawless record and took another sizeable leap forward.

14:42 Worcester – Banderas

Steve Harrington; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You

Rationale:
Banderas is a five-year-old who looks on the cusp of a productive campaign over hurdles. He got off the mark at Southwell on his third start in this sphere, staying on powerfully on decent ground to land the prize. That form has worked out nicely, with the runner-up winning since. He then switched to the Flat, where he handled soft conditions well to land a handicap at Carlisle, proving his versatility across both codes. Now he returns to timber with a workable opening mark of 114, which appears generous given what he has achieved.

Sam England’s charge is a big, scopey individual who has always hinted at further progress to come, and this competitive novice handicap hurdle provides the perfect platform for him to continue his upward trajectory. If he builds on his Southwell success, he looks more than capable of playing a leading role at Worcester.
