Reasoning
Today’s Lucky 15 blends proven performers with progressive contenders. Arisaig drops in class with a big chance, Zanthos returns to her best track, Zeus Olympios seeks to maintain his unbeaten streak, and Banderas looks well-handicapped back over hurdles. Together, the quartet form a strong multiple with plenty of upside.

13:20 Goodwood – Aggagio

John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Aggagio’s remarkable affinity with Goodwood makes him impossible to ignore in the opening staying handicap. Representing the father-son training duo of Gary and Josh Moore, this hardy seven-year-old boasts an outstanding record at the Sussex track, having bagged five wins here across multiple seasons. Most recently, he stamped his authority over two miles in commanding fashion, dictating the pace and pulling away when asked, suggesting there’s still fire in the belly despite his advancing years.

The form of that victory has taken a notable boost—both the runner-up and fourth have returned to win subsequently, indicating the depth of the race. While this contest represents a stiffer stamina test with an extra four furlongs to cover, Aggagio appears better equipped than ever to deal with it. A 4lb rise from the handicapper seems more than manageable considering the way he put that field to the sword. His wide course experience and strong relationship with young claimer Ashley Lewis give further confidence. The seven-pound claim reduces his racing weight to a handy level, and if Lewis employs the same aggressive tactics again, this horse could steal a march and prove very tough to peg back.

15:05 Goodwood – Big Mojo

Herrin Kendrick; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

The progressive Big Mojo lines up for the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes, and this represents a significant moment for the colt, who continues to enhance his reputation with each run. Returning to the scene of his standout juvenile success in last year’s Molecomb Stakes, the son of Mohaather again teams up with Tom Marquand, a partnership that could click into gear once more.

Big Mojo has returned this season in excellent heart, and his effort in the Group 1 July Cup earlier this month was arguably the best performance of his career. Despite tackling 6f that day, he came within a neck of landing the top prize, finishing with a rattle that spoke volumes for his current wellbeing. While some might argue a step up in trip might suit him better now, the likely ease in the going at Goodwood should make this minimum distance more testing, bringing his strong finishing style right into play.

The draw is not a concern, and with Marquand likely to hold onto him and deliver late, this speedball looks primed to burst through the field in the closing stages. On figures and recent form, he’s one of the standouts and might well be underestimated in the betting, making him a compelling choice for this leg of the Lucky 15.

16:20 Goodwood – Shaman Champion

Gram Dodd; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

A sharp turnaround of foot and solid breeding underpin the case for Shaman Champion, a colt who appears to be improving with every run. The son of Shaman made a winning debut in a Leicester maiden and has since been shaping like a horse with considerable upside, especially after his most recent outing at Newbury. That effort saw him finish strongly after missing the kick slightly, running through the line as if crying out for this 6f trip.

Richard Hughes’s team is in excellent form, and the booking of Oisin Murphy adds a layer of confidence. He’s no stranger to making an impact aboard inexperienced runners and will likely have a good idea of how to navigate the early stages of this nursery handicap.

What makes Shaman Champion particularly interesting is the strength of that Newbury race, which looked deeper than the bare numbers imply. The switch to a sharper, more testing track like Goodwood should suit his run-style, especially if Murphy can tuck him in before unleashing his turn of foot. With pedigree, profile, and pilot all ticking the right boxes, this colt looks capable of making further progress, and there’s definite value in siding with him now before the market wakes up.

16:55 Goodwood – Push The Limit

Steve Harrington; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Push The Limit makes his handicap bow after two respectable efforts in novice company, and Ralph Beckett could have him primed for a big run now that he moves into a handicap scenario off a fair-looking mark of 91. Despite not getting his head in front this term, the form lines from his last outing at Carlisle are rock-solid, possibly even gold-plated.

On that occasion, he was attempting to concede 10lb to The King’s Falcon, a horse who was being prepped for a major handicap at Royal Ascot and only missed it due to a setback. The third in that Carlisle contest has since won a maiden impressively and is now rated 89, while the fourth has subsequently run into the places at Listed level and holds a mark of 101. That kind of depth in the form book elevates Push The Limit’s performance to something above what the bare result suggests.

Now facing similarly aged rivals in a three-year-old only handicap, and with Beckett’s yard hitting peak form, this looks the right moment to strike. He should get a solid pace to aim at and if his stamina holds up over this stiff mile and a quarter, expect him to be involved when it matters most.of competitive handicap is the perfect stage for a breakthrough.ip keeps him sharp and travelling strongly throughout. If Soumillon gets him into a good rhythm early, he could easily outkick these rivals in the final stages.
