Reasoning
Each horse in today’s Lucky 15 brings solid reasons for confidence — Miss Dolly Rocker is thriving under new care, Getthepot is knocking loudly, Ravenscraig Castle takes a big class drop, and Matchless is chasing a four-timer. Together, they form a balanced, high-upside accumulator that blends class, form, and track suitability.

4:35 Newmarket – Believing

Herrin Kendrick; Racing analyst at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
In the highlight race of the day – the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket – Herrin Kendrick has locked onto Believing as a value alternative to the short-priced favourite Notable Speech. While the market leader brings top-class mile credentials to the sprinting stage, doubts linger over his suitability to six furlongs at this level.

That opens the door to a more battle-hardened sprinter, and Believing fits that bill perfectly. She didn’t get the rub of the green at Royal Ascot in the King Charles III Stakes, where she found herself drawn out wide in stall one and was caught racing on the far side – a part of the track that proved a disadvantage on the day. Still, she managed to show enough to suggest her sharpness is intact, and it was only her first run back on UK turf this season.

The daughter of Mehmas holds a solid profile over six furlongs, including a Group 1 win in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan. Her placed efforts at big meetings last year – including York and Goodwood – underline her consistency. With Spy Chief and Inisherin expected to force a strong pace, her draw looks favourable for a tow into the race. Add to that Billy Loughnane’s ice-cool riding style and George Boughey’s strong record with mares in foal, and it’s clear she has every chance of ending her racing career with a flourish.

13:45 Ascot – Anashhad

Steve Harrington; Flat racing contributor at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Steve Harrington goes to the opening race at Ascot for his selection, siding with Roger Varian’s promising juvenile Anashhad. This son of Mohaather made a bright start to his career with a third-place finish at York, and the form from that contest has been considerably boosted since.

The winner from that day, Tadej, has gone on to contest top-level races and is now rated 100, while the runner-up Do Or Do Not has since finished second in both the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and the July Stakes. Even the fourth, Champion Island, has come out and won since. Based on that evidence, Anashhad was competing at a much higher level than most debutants and likely ran to a mark in the low-to-mid 80s on his first appearance.

With natural improvement expected and this step up to seven furlongs looking a positive move, there is every reason to think he’ll prove difficult to beat. His breeding suggests that stamina won’t be an issue, and the Varian yard continues in red-hot form with a 26% strike rate over the past fortnight.

Facing only a small field and with many rivals yet to show anything noteworthy, Anashhad looks well-placed to assert his superiority in this novice event, especially given the confidence from the stable and the likelihood of further improvement from his debut.

3:25 Newmarket – Secret Theory

John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
John Pentin has pinpointed Secret Theory as the best option in a fiercely competitive bet365 Mile Handicap at Newmarket. Charlie Appleby’s gelding returns after a gelding operation and the removal of a hood – a combination the trainer has used to good effect in the past.

There’s a lot to like about Secret Theory, especially his season-opening victory at Nottingham. That win came in a novice event where he handed weight to subsequent winners Archivist and Mister Winston. That piece of form now reads extremely well, particularly with Archivist being sent off favourite for the John Smith’s Cup at York.

After Nottingham, Secret Theory was sent to Goodwood and ran with credit in a deep race, only beaten by horses who later claimed success at Royal Ascot. That outing was arguably compromised by the track, and with Newmarket’s more galloping nature likely to suit, he looks primed for a big run.

Charlie Appleby has enjoyed another excellent July Festival and has a fine record in this particular contest. With James Doyle in the saddle and the Godolphin red cap likely to go off at a backable price, this looks the time to strike with a horse carrying clear pattern potential.

3:10 York – Naqeeb

Gram Dodd; Senior tipster at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Gram Dodd turns his attention to the John Smith’s Cup and is confident Naqeeb can outrun his odds in this prestigious handicap. Since moving to Julie Camacho, the five-year-old has looked like a horse finding his feet again, and there’s evidence that the new environment has sparked some progression.

Although his pedigree suggests staying trips might be his natural game – being related to Baaeed and Hukum – he’s looked increasingly comfortable when kept to 1m4f or shorter. At Royal Ascot last time, he travelled ominously well before being outstayed in the final 100 yards by rivals more suited to the extended trip.

Dropping back slightly in distance today could be exactly what’s needed. The big field, strong gallop, and long York straight all favour horses that can settle and come through late – a style Naqeeb is beginning to show. Add in the fact that Julie Camacho’s runners are flying right now with a 26% strike rate, and this looks an ideal time to catch him.

He’s already proved he handles the course, and this step back in trip could be the making of him. At the current price, he looks a standout each-way option in one of the most intriguing handicaps of the summer.
