That downtime appears to have rejuvenated her, and the cooler weather at Goodwood is an added advantage for a horse who struggled in unseasonal heat last time.
She holds the highest Racing Post Rating in the field and already owns a pair of Group wins on turf in 2024. Her 2025 campaign began with a victory in Australia and she hasn’t been out of place at the highest level on either side of the globe. With Oisin Murphy in the saddle—riding at an impressive 27% strike rate over the past fortnight—she’ll be tactically guided by one of the sharpest minds in the weighing room.
Importantly, the competition appears beatable. Big Mojo, while very solid over six furlongs, is dropping back to five, and may find the early tempo difficult to cope with. Time For Sandals is dropping in trip and carrying extra weight, while others such as Frost At Dawn and She’s Quality are still establishing their credentials at Group 2 level. If Asfoora runs anywhere near her best form from last year, there is every reason to believe she can finally clinch this prize.
