Reasoning
Blenheim Star thrives at Brighton and retains the same mark after a luckless third, Charlie Brow’n shaped like a stayer at Killarney and steps up in trip, while Jeudidee’s form has been repeatedly boosted. Combining course specialists, progressive types and ideal conditions makes this Sunday accumulator highly compelling and well-founded.

14:57 Newbury – Regional

John Pentin; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Few horses arrive at Newbury with the pedigree of Regional, who steps into this Group 3 contest having been mixing it at the very top of the sprinting ranks. The seven-year-old has been regularly facing elite competition, and although he’s not got his head in front since the 2023 Haydock Sprint Cup, he’s performed with real credit in several tough assignments.

Regional was second to Asfoora, a top-tier Australian sprinter, in the 2024 King Charles III Stakes, showing his ability remains undiminished. More recently, he came home third in that same event behind American Affair and Frost At Dawn. In between, he was a close third in Meydan’s Al Quoz Sprint, beaten only by Group 1 winners. That sequence of performances shows that he still competes at a very high level, and dropping into a Group 3 should suit him perfectly.

He finished fourth in this race last year, but the context is important: he was carrying a penalty and was forced to concede weight to both Elite Status and Kind Of Blue. This time, the weights are more in his favour, and those two rivals haven’t maintained their form. Regional now finds himself meeting a much more winnable field without any added burdens. Connections will be hoping the first-time cheekpieces keep him sharp early on, and if he produces his usual effort, he should prove too strong for this company.

19:05 Newmarket – Another Abbot

Gram Dodd; Flat Racing Editor at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Another Abbot lines up in the penultimate race on the Newmarket card with his credentials steadily growing, and he’s shaping up to be a horse with more to offer. Trained by the always-dangerous William Haggas, this three-year-old has only recently begun to show what he’s capable of since undergoing gelding surgery earlier in the season.

Although his reappearance at Yarmouth in May was underwhelming, finishing near the back of the field over a sharp five furlongs, his next two runs showed a marked turnaround. Placed second at both Redcar and Lingfield, he shaped as a horse learning on the job, and those experiences proved invaluable. That progress culminated in a decisive success at Newmarket last month when stepped up to six furlongs.

That win over course and distance is key. Not only did he handle the track’s undulations and the uphill finish, but he also travelled powerfully and showed a smart turn of foot to assert inside the final furlong. With that confidence-boosting win under his belt, the return to CB8 gives him a significant edge, especially against a field where many are either exposed or trying a new trip. While others carry more weight or have unclear profiles, Another Abbot is the unexposed improver. With Haggas likely to have left something to work on, there’s every reason to believe another step forward is imminent.

15:12 Market Rasen – Ballysax Hank

Herrin Kendrick; Racing Analyst at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
The Summer Plate Handicap Chase always attracts a deep field, but Ballysax Hank stands out as the type to improve beyond this level. The Irish-trained six-year-old represents Gavin Cromwell’s operation, and while many of his rivals here are long-time chasers with little room to progress, Ballysax Hank comes into the race with just three starts over fences under his belt.

After being transferred to Cromwell’s yard last winter, he made a steady start in novice chases, picking up a solid victory at Downpatrick on his second outing. Since then, he has switched back to hurdles, where he’s run with merit in two strong Irish handicaps, finishing second and third. His latest effort at Bellewstown showed he remains in form and likely to benefit from a return to the bigger obstacles.

It’s also worth noting that the Timeform assessment lists him as one with further potential, as indicated by the ‘p’ on his adjusted rating. That notation is rarely handed out lightly and supports the visual evidence that we’ve yet to see the best of him. The presence of Harry Cobden in the saddle adds further weight to his claims—he’s aiming for a third win in this race and knows how to ride this course to perfection. With a light racing weight and less miles on the clock than many others in the field, Ballysax Hank appeals as the horse with both form and future on his side.e confidence of a last-time-out victory, Ziggy’s Triton looks like one firmly on the up and ready to go in again.
