Reasoning
This accumulator blends quality and value across three meetings. Regional brings Group 1 experience to a lower level, Another Abbot is thriving after a win over course and distance, and Ballysax Hank is an improving chaser with strong Irish form. Together, they offer a well-balanced and highly promising Saturday treble.

16:25 Haydock – Russian Crescendo

John Pentin; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

The 4.25 at Haydock is a competitive staying handicap where several arrive with questions to answer, but Russian Crescendo stands out as one who could have far more to offer. Although she returned to action with a modest seventh at Southwell, the context of that performance is crucial. It was her first run of the campaign after a break, and she looked to need the outing, having previously landed two victories from her first three career starts.

That reappearance effort doesn’t tell the full story of her potential, and connections have given her time to come forward since, which could prove a wise move. Now with that blowout behind her, she’s expected to strip much fitter and return to the promise she showed as a lightly raced filly. The switch to this 1m6f trip looks a smart decision, with her pedigree and style of racing hinting that she’s crying out for a thorough stamina test.

Trainer William Haggas has his team in fine shape, and booking Oisin Orr adds further confidence. Her mark of 84 still looks within reach based on what she’s shown before, and the race setup could allow her to sit off a likely strong pace and pounce late. If she can run to the level of her late-season form from last year, she will be a major threat in a field where several are exposed. Russian Crescendo has the profile of one who can progress beyond this grade and looks a solid anchor for this accumulator.

18:25 Newmarket – Lady Of Andros

Herrin Kendrick; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Lady Of Andros returns to the July Course in the 6.25, looking to make amends for what can only be described as a luckless defeat at York. On that occasion, she was trapped behind horses at a crucial point and, despite finishing strongly when the gap finally opened, it was too late to overhaul the front runners. That effort marked the latest in a series of steadily improving performances, and it’s clear that she’s heading in the right direction.

Her earlier runner-up finish hinted at her growing maturity, and she now finds herself returning to a track and trip that should play to her strengths. The stiff finish at Newmarket suits a filly who needs a bit of time to find her stride, and the booking of Jason Watson – who knows her well – should help maximise her finishing burst.

Ollie Sangster’s filly races off a mark of 89, which doesn’t look beyond her based on how well she’s been running in deeper company. The horses around her in the betting offer some threats – particularly Cuban Lady, who is unexposed – but they haven’t yet shown the consistency or racecraft that Lady Of Andros is beginning to exhibit. With the right run, and a little more luck in the final furlong, this could be her day. Her progressive profile, combined with conditions in her favour, makes her a strong leg in this multiple.

20:10 Newmarket – Waistcoat

Gram Dodd; Sports journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:

Newmarket’s closing handicap at 20:10 sees a fascinating angle in Waistcoat, who lines up for his stable debut with Ross Burdon – a relatively new name on the training circuit but already making waves. This four-year-old has had a somewhat nomadic career to date, passing through the hands of three different trainers. However, his current form has been excellent, and he appears to have found his feet over sprint trips after a few earlier experiments at further.

Having scored twice this season over six furlongs, first at Leicester and then Nottingham, he then went back up to seven and shaped well when fourth at Doncaster in a bunched finish. Crucially, he earned a ‘Horse In Focus’ rating from Timeform that day, having been forced to switch before staying on late – a performance that suggested he remains on a winnable mark. With a smoother passage, he might well have been right in the mix.

It’s interesting that Burdon sends him here for his first outing under the new yard’s banner, suggesting confidence in his current condition. His position at the top of the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings confirms that, on paper, he brings the strongest recent form. Back at seven furlongs and with the potential for tactical improvement, Waistcoat could easily take another step forward. Against relatively exposed opposition, he might just prove the smartest bit of placing on the card.
