13:20 Goodwood – Silawi
Gram Dodd; Market Analyst at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
The Coral Chesterfield Cup is a deep and competitive handicap, but Silawi looks overpriced given the context of his recent form and draw. His effort in the Royal Hunt Cup can be quickly forgiven — caught in the middle of a field that saw all the action unfold down either rail. With the first five home drawn almost exclusively from the extreme inside and outside, Silawi, breaking from stall 14, had little chance to get involved meaningfully. His prior win at Windsor was eye-catching, and while he’s now 7lb higher, it’s worth remembering this horse was contesting races of far greater quality overseas not long ago.
Representing Wathnan Racing, whose runners are targeted for peak efforts at marquee meetings, he’s had ample recovery time since Ascot and clearly goes well fresh. His trainer Hamad Al Jehani is enjoying a good spell, and James Doyle can take full advantage of stall 4 to secure a handy position. If he settles better than last time and gets cover, his finishing burst can make a big impression. There’s substance behind that Windsor success and this looks the perfect place to bounce back.

14:30 Goodwood – Audience
John Pentin; Sports Journalist at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
Audience comes into the Group 2 Lennox Stakes with every chance of repeating last year’s dominant display. A winner of this very race 12 months ago, he returns without the burden of a Group 1 penalty and from an ideal draw in stall 4. That combination of favourable race conditions and tactical positioning is likely to see him get a similar setup as last year, particularly with the pace expected to be strong thanks to the presence of front-runner Quinault. The son of Iffraaj is a tricky character at times, as shown in his recent Haydock run where he threw away his chance by hanging late.
However, cheekpieces are applied today for the first time and that tweak in headgear has worked for him before — including when winning first time in a hood and again when it was removed. The Gosden yard is flying right now, and their decision to keep Audience at seven furlongs, a distance he relishes at Goodwood, is telling. He has proven he can thrive around this unique track, and when given a clean trip with cover, his ability to quicken is a potent weapon. With Kinross and Jonquil drawn wider than ideal, the race may once again fall into Audience’s lap.
15:45 Goodwood – Redorange
Herrin Kendrick; Race Tactics Expert at BettingTips4You
Rationale:
The final leg of this accumulator comes in the Coral Golden Rewards Shaker Handicap, and Redorange stands out as one of the more progressive sprinters in the field. He’s been on an upward curve over the minimum five furlongs, producing a strong win at Chester and then running a belter at Ascot when beaten under a length despite facing tougher opposition off a higher mark. That race confirmed his ability to handle the rise in class, and although his rating now sits at 100, he still gives the impression there’s more to come. He’s got early speed, handles sharp turns, and benefits from a draw in stall 18, which is often an asset in sprints at Goodwood where the field naturally drifts to the stands’ rail.
With Rossa Ryan in the saddle — a jockey operating at a 20% win rate over the past fortnight — and Clive Cox’s yard also firing with regularity, this looks an ideal time to strike. Redorange has proven he can race prominently and dig in late, which is precisely what’s needed at this unique venue. If he breaks sharply and gets into a rhythm, he could very easily go in again and announce himself as more than just a handicapper. With his current rate of improvement and a trainer operating at a high strike rate, he looks the type to defy the rise in the weights and continue his winning run.
