Main Bet: Great Britain & Ireland

The majority of the odds seem to be in favour of the team from Great Britain and Ireland’s favour, who are deserving favourites and perhaps ought to be somewhat shorter than 5/6.

To begin with, GB&I will field the top three contenders (and potentially the fourth, in Seamus Power). Sepp Straka, the leader of the next wave, is severely weak in Middle East expertise, and Thomas Pieters and Alex Noren, one of whom has been away since the very beginning of October, are the major players on the European side.

Although Antoine Rozner and Adrian Meronk, two Europeans, won towards the very end of 2022, Tommy Fleetwood’s triumph at Nedbank and Shane Lowry’s recent victories at Wentworth, are the strongest examples of this type of performance.

Due to Fleetwood’s double, three of their ten players have won at this course, giving them a total of four victories. However, it is important to note that the Europeans have only one player who has played the course for the first time, compared to GB&I’s 3 (Power, Ferguson, Mansell).

Fleetwood and company take the win in an event that has the feel of a first-day-of-school, with many players experimenting with new equipment and a lack of intensity expected across the board.
