Nottingham Forest to Win & Over 2.5 Goals
With Forest’s home record and Ipswich’s defensive issues, backing the hosts to win in a game featuring at least three goals looks a solid bet. The City Ground has been a stronghold for Forest, and their ability to dictate games in familiar surroundings has been crucial to their success this season. They have not only been winning but have also been doing so convincingly, limiting their opponents’ chances while creating plenty themselves.
Ipswich’s backline has been leaking goals at an alarming rate, with seven conceded in their last two matches alone. While their attacking play has been encouraging, their inability to keep things tight at the back makes them highly vulnerable against a Forest side with multiple attacking threats. Even if Ipswich manage to find the net, it is hard to see them keeping Forest at bay for 90 minutes.
As BettingTips4You.com expert Tyler Morris puts it:
“Forest’s home form and Ipswich’s defensive woes make this an obvious pick. With both sides capable of scoring but Forest being the superior outfit, backing a home win with goals is the smart move. Expect Forest to take control early and see this one through comfortably.”
Given the attacking intent of both sides and the defensive fragilities, a 3-1 win for Forest seems the most likely outcome. Ipswich will cause problems but ultimately lack the defensive solidity to pull off an upset.

Morgan Gibbs-White to Assist
One of the most consistent creative forces in Forest’s squad, Morgan Gibbs-White has been instrumental in their attacking play this season. With five goals and five assists to his name, he has been involved in key moments time and again. His recent form is particularly encouraging, as he has contributed either a goal or an assist in eight of his last 13 starts. Against an Ipswich defence that has been all over the place in their last two games, conceding seven goals, he will likely have plenty of opportunities to create chances.
With Forest expected to dominate possession and apply pressure in the final third, Gibbs-White will have the perfect platform to add to his assist tally. His ability to pick out teammates in dangerous positions, particularly with Taiwo Awoniyi’s movement in the box, makes this selection highly appealing. Ipswich’s defence has been vulnerable against intelligent attacking players, and Gibbs-White certainly fits that mould.

24/1 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning This bet builder focuses on Forest’s strong home form and attacking quality, Ipswich’s defensive weaknesses, and the key players likely to influence the game. With Forest expected to dominate, Gibbs-White’s creativity should lead to an assist, while Hutchinson’s attacking intent means he is likely to test the goalkeeper. Delap’s disciplinary struggles also make him a strong candidate for a booking. A high-scoring game with a Nottingham Forest win seems the best call. |
Omari Hutchinson 1+ Shot on Target
Ipswich may struggle defensively, but they are not lacking in attacking talent, and Omari Hutchinson has been one of their standout performers. Only Liam Delap has managed more shots on target for the club this season, and Hutchinson has been particularly consistent in testing opposition goalkeepers. He has registered at least one shot on target in six of his last eight appearances, highlighting his confidence in front of goal.
Given the way Ipswich play, they are unlikely to sit back, and this should create opportunities for Hutchinson to have attempts at goal. Whether cutting inside from wide areas or arriving in the box to support attacks, he is a player who constantly looks to get involved. Forest have been defensively solid at home, but Ipswich’s attacking intent means they should still carve out opportunities, with Hutchinson well-placed to register an effort on target.
Liam Delap to be Shown a Card
Discipline has been an issue for Liam Delap this season, and his aggressive style of play often lands him in trouble with referees. He hit double figures for yellow cards after being booked against Manchester United last weekend, with six of those coming in away matches. Given the intensity of this FA Cup clash and the likelihood that Ipswich will be chasing the game for large periods, Delap’s combative nature could lead to another booking.
Nottingham Forest have been one of the Premier League’s most effective sides at drawing fouls from their opponents, with only Aston Villa seeing their opposition collect more cards. Delap’s record of six yellows in his last 12 starts is a clear indicator that he is prone to bookings, and in a high-tempo match where he will be looking to impose himself physically, the chances of him being cautioned are high.
