✅ Both Teams to Score

A look at recent displays makes it hard to see either side keeping a clean sheet. Germany have found the net regularly in competitive matches but have also looked shaky at the back. Their 5-4 aggregate win over Italy earlier this year highlighted both their attacking flair and defensive frailty, as they leaked three goals at home after going 5-1 up.

Portugal, meanwhile, possess attacking quality in abundance but have shown lapses of their own. They conceded twice at home to Denmark in the last round before turning things around in extra time. With Cristiano Ronaldo, Diogo Jota and Bernardo Silva involved, they always carry a goal threat.

Germany have scored in all of their last 11 home games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five. Similarly, Portugal’s front line has managed to breach some of Europe’s top defences, including France, Croatia and Denmark over the past year.

Given the quality and flaws of both backlines, and considering this is a semi-final where caution is likely to fade as the match wears on, goals at both ends looks like a smart inclusion.

✅ Florian Wirtz to Score Anytime

With several key attacking figures absent, Germany may lean heavily on young talent – and few are in better form than Florian Wirtz. The Bayer Leverkusen star has stepped up in recent months, particularly since Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala have been sidelined. He is likely to operate behind the striker and should be heavily involved in the final third.

Wirtz impressed during the quarter-final tie against Italy and has been one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga. He possesses the technical ability to carve open even the most disciplined defence and has a knack for popping up with goals from midfield.

Portugal’s back four, while experienced, struggled to contain Denmark at times and looked vulnerable when facing quick transitions. Wirtz’s positioning and movement can exploit those gaps – especially with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka likely to provide the ammunition from midfield.

If Germany are to get on the scoresheet, Wirtz looks one of the most likely candidates to be involved.

Reasoning
This value-focused Bet Builder for FC Midtjylland vs Hibernian includes Both Teams to Score, Each Team Over 4 Corners, and Each Team Over 2 Cards. Both sides favour wing play and attack with intent, while defensive weaknesses and European pressure should result in cards and set-piece opportunities for both.

✅ Over 4 Cards in the Match

This fixture has all the makings of a highly-charged battle. The Nations League semi-final status naturally raises the stakes, but the recent history of both teams points to a physical affair.

Germany committed several fouls in the two-legged clash with Italy and were lucky not to see red in the second leg. Portugal are no strangers to a card either – their clash with Denmark featured multiple bookings and a high tackle count.

With midfield heavyweights like Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha and Bernardo Silva battling Germany’s Kimmich and Goretzka, the central areas could see plenty of duels. Add in potential tactical fouls on counter-attacks and some touchline emotion, and cards are a real probability.

The pressure, the intensity, and the quality of the individuals involved make a card-heavy contest very likely – particularly if the scoreline remains tight late on.

✅ Over 10 Total Corners

Both nations play an expansive style that encourages wide play and frequent shots from around the box – a recipe for corners. Germany average a high corner count, particularly at home where they tend to control possession and push full-backs high. Their recent match with Italy saw them earn double-digit corners across both legs.

Portugal also produce a fair number of corners themselves. They managed to force extra time against Denmark with relentless late pressure that included a flurry of set pieces.

Given both sides’ attacking intentions and their tendency to take the game to opponents, this semi-final should see over 10 flag kicks fairly comfortably – especially if we see an early goal that forces the other to respond.history of collecting bookings in this tournament, and with everything to play for, discipline may be stretched thin.
