Selection One: Liverpool to Win
Liverpool’s away record in Europe underlines why they are favourites. In their last 39 continental trips, they have drawn just once, securing 25 victories across that stretch. Such consistency away from Anfield highlights their ability to navigate difficult atmospheres like Istanbul.
Despite losing to Crystal Palace at the weekend, the Reds usually respond with resilience after setbacks. Arne Slot’s men have collected six wins in their past seven matches, including a dramatic 3-2 triumph over Atletico Madrid where Virgil van Dijk netted late to secure the points. Their capacity to dig deep when required adds weight to this selection.
Galatasaray are formidable at home in domestic action, yet their Champions League opener was alarming. Leading Eintracht Frankfurt early, they collapsed to a 5-1 defeat, exposing defensive vulnerabilities. Even with a squad containing stars like Ilkay Gundogan, Leroy Sane and the returning Victor Osimhen, their recent European record is not convincing. Against a Liverpool side with superior squad depth and experience, the visitors should have enough to come through.

Selection Two: Over 2 Goals
Both sides enter this encounter with attacking form, which lends itself well to a goals market. Liverpool have netted at least twice in five of their eight outings this season. Whether through Mohamed Salah’s sharpness, Cody Gakpo’s movement or Florian Wirtz’s creativity, the Reds consistently carve out openings.
Defensively, however, Slot’s team remain fragile. Conceding twice in four of their matches this term and offering Crystal Palace seven clear chances at the weekend, they often invite pressure. Galatasaray’s scoring record supports the idea of another high-scoring game; they have found the net at least twice in nine of their last eleven European matches at RAMS Park.
The Turkish champions have also scored nine times across three home fixtures this season, showing confidence in front of their own fans. While Liverpool’s attack should deliver, it would be no surprise if the hosts also contributed to the tally. Considering both teams’ tendencies, surpassing the two-goal mark looks well within reach.
Selection Three: Alexander Isak – 2+ Shots on Target
Isak’s importance to Liverpool cannot be overstated, even if fitness concerns limit his minutes. His direct running and ability to test goalkeepers mean he frequently works opportunities when he plays. In the clash with Atletico Madrid, he forced saves and drew defenders out of shape, showing his sharpness in European competition.
Galatasaray’s back line struggled against Frankfurt, conceding five times and allowing their opponents plenty of clear chances. With defenders like Davinson Sanchez prone to lapses, an intelligent forward such as Isak should be able to generate shooting opportunities. His height also makes him dangerous when Robertson and Frimpong deliver crosses from wide.
Although Hugo Ekitike may start given rotation needs, Isak should still be involved for a substantial period. His natural instinct to get shots away, coupled with Liverpool’s dominance in possession, gives him a strong chance of testing the goalkeeper on multiple occasions.
Selection Four: Florian Wirtz – 1+ Shots on Target
The German playmaker has quickly integrated into Liverpool’s system, offering vision and end product behind the striker. Against Atletico, Wirtz’s positioning allowed him to get into shooting zones as well as supply Salah and Gakpo. His eye for goal means he rarely passes up opportunities from distance.
Galatasaray are likely to allow space between midfield and defence, especially with Torreira and Lemina tasked with covering gaps. Wirtz thrives in these situations, drifting into pockets where he can unleash efforts on goal. His technical quality means even efforts from outside the box often force saves.
Given Liverpool’s likely dominance in midfield and Wirtz’s habit of trying his luck, expecting at least one effort on target from him is a logical addition to the bet builder.
Selection Five: Mohamed Salah – 2+ Shots on Target
No Liverpool bet builder feels complete without considering Salah’s output. The Egyptian forward remains central to everything in the final third, both scoring and creating chances. His hunger for goals was evident against Atletico Madrid, where he tested Jan Oblak several times and played with relentless directness.
Salah enjoys cutting inside from the right, and with Elmali expected to start at left-back for Galatasaray, there should be opportunities for him to drive at goal. The hosts conceded plenty of shots against Frankfurt, which suggests Liverpool’s talisman will have the platform to deliver multiple attempts on target.
Salah’s consistency in Europe further strengthens this angle. He rarely finishes a Champions League night without troubling the goalkeeper at least twice, making this selection a strong candidate.
