✅ Beto to Score Anytime
Everton’s blunt attacking display at Elland Road highlighted their need for cutting edge up top – and Beto is the man most likely to provide it. Although the Toffees failed to register a single big chance in that defeat to Leeds, Beto was feeding off scraps and still caused problems with his movement and physicality.
Now, with the emotion of a first-ever competitive game at the brand-new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton will be fired up, and Moyes will surely tweak the system to get more support around his striker. Grealish could come into the XI and that alone would provide more creativity and service into the box.
Brighton conceded in the 96th minute against Fulham and looked shaky when balls were played into their area late on. If Everton come out with aggression and get bodies forward, Beto is more than capable of capitalising – especially against a back line that hasn’t gelled yet and is still adapting to new full-backs and centre-back partnerships.
With the crowd pushing them on and the memory of last year’s 3-0 home loss still fresh, expect Everton to get on the scoresheet – and if they do, Beto is your best bet.

✅ Idrissa Gana Gueye to Be Shown a Card
Everton’s midfield were completely overrun in the Leeds defeat, and Idrissa Gana Gueye had to do the job of two men at times. With Branthwaite and Mykolenko still absent, Moyes may have to field another makeshift defensive line, putting even more pressure on Gueye to protect the back four.
The Senegalese midfielder is no stranger to a booking. His role in this side is largely destructive – tasked with breaking up play and often operating on the edge when Everton lose their defensive shape. With Brighton likely to dominate the ball and pull Everton’s midfielders out of position, the chances of Gueye being late into a challenge increase dramatically.
Brighton’s midfield, particularly with Matt O’Riley driving forward and Mitoma drifting inside, will force Gueye into last-ditch tackles and transitions where tactical fouls are almost inevitable. With the pace and movement of Brighton’s attacking unit, Gueye is going to be stretched – and when he’s stretched, he picks up cards.
In a high-pressure atmosphere, with his team under siege at times, expect his name to go into the referee’s book.

West Ham vs Tottenham Bet Builder Tip | |
11/1 - odds when tipped | |
Reasoning With Tottenham’s defensive vulnerabilities and West Ham’s home scoring streak, goals at both ends seem likely. Bowen, fresh from a standout display, looks set to test Vicario frequently. Meanwhile, Richarlison, likely leading Spurs’ line, should pose a constant threat. This trio of bets combines logical form and tactical insight for strong value. |
✅ Jan Paul van Hecke to Be Shown a Card
Jan Paul van Hecke’s place in Brighton’s starting eleven looks assured now that Adam Webster is sidelined long-term. But while the Dutchman has a strong aerial presence and reads the game well, he’s also extremely prone to lunging into tackles – particularly when isolated.
Against Fulham, he showed signs of overcommitting, and in this match he could be directly up against a physically imposing forward like Beto, who loves to engage in battles with centre-backs. Everton will be desperate to press high and get the crowd involved, which could force Brighton into a few rash moments at the back.
Van Hecke has previously struggled against powerful strikers – he was booked five times in the second half of last season and has often had a tendency to struggle with pace in behind as well.
Everton might not dominate this game, but they’ll certainly make it physical – and with a ref likely to set the tone early, van Hecke is an ideal candidate for a card in a fiery battle.
