Our pick for this week is DENIS SHAPOVALOV. He won his lone ATP Tour title here (in 2019), but he also made the finals a year ago before losing to Tommy Paul. Three of the five ATP finals in his career have taken place indoors, while four of his five have occurred after the US Open.
His current form is his best of the season, so it’s not simply history that works in his favour.

Shapovalov took advantage of the Asian swing and came in second in Seoul. The next week, in a close semi-final in Tokyo, he lost to Taylor Fritz, who went on to win the tournament. Shapo will undoubtedly try to keep up his winning streak now that he’s in an environment he clearly enjoys. The carrot of a spot in Turin remains at the moment, so motivation is there, even if he’ll likely need to win the Paris Masters if he wants to make the ATP Finals. Things seem to be going well in terms of the draw.
Since the courts now play much more quickly than they were a few years ago (they are on Plexipave), I am happy to back Shapovalov at 13/2 since I believe he will enjoy them more than Norrie. The greatest threat in the top half is Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is also the betting favourite. That makes sense given that only Novak Djokovic recently defeated the Greek in the 500-level competition in Astana. But after dropping to the 250s, I’m not sure if Tsitsipas will be operating at full throttle this week.
He’s already secured a spot in the ATP Finals, so he’ll undoubtedly try to save some energy for it at some point in the coming weeks.
I’m not seeking to get with Tsitsipas at 11/4 here since Paris in a fortnight provides more on every level-money, points, and prestige. Shapovalov is unquestionably a better bet.

In Antwerp, Felix Auger-Aliassime is the tournament favourite, and that is reasonable.
He proved last week that he was in good shape by making it all the way to the final in Florence, and he is definitely motivated to try again in Belgium. The ‘Race to Turin,’ which will determine the ATP Finals field, has the Canadian in eighth place. FAA has the last qualifying spot right now, so it’s clear that he needs more ranking points to compete in the season finals.

He will probably have to play ARTHUR RINDERKNECH in his first encounter, which could be challenging on the often fast-paced Greenset courts.
The Frenchman served very well last week in Gijon. He had 39 aces and only dropped service twice in his four sets, which got him to the semifinals. You would anticipate that the quicker pace of play here would enhance that shot. His performance has improved somewhat since moving inside; he also finished in the quarterfinals of Tel-Aviv and Metz, where he lost to Hubert Hurkacz. Naturally, Auger-Aliassime might end up being too brilliant, but I believe there is enough reason to take a chance on him at 28/1.
