Doublethetrouble (Best Odds: 9/2 – bet365)
After a string of solid performances without finding the breakthrough, Doublethetrouble deserves respect today and looks sure to be involved with another game showing.

Easter Icon (Best Odds: 9/2 – Unibet)
Fresh from a success on seasonal return, Easter Icon appears to have more to offer and carries strong credentials to double up if taking another step forward.

Standbackandlook (Best Odds: 7/1 – bet365)
Although well held last time, Standbackandlook can be forgiven for that effort and looks an interesting contender if able to bounce back under today’s conditions.

Turing (Best Odds: 16/1 – Betvictor)
Lightly raced and open to improvement, Turing could outrun his odds if finding a rhythm early, though he will need to sharpen up from his previous outing.

The Colorist (Best Odds: 10/3 – bet365)
Runner-up in a competitive affair most recently, The Colorist is thriving right now and looks a major player if producing a similar effort on this occasion.

Fravanco (Best Odds: 5/1 – Betvictor)
Despite a below-par run latest, Fravanco’s previous course form reads well and it would be no shock to see him bounce back to form for today’s challenge.

Smith (Best Odds: 4/1 – bet365)
Smith, already a course and distance scorer, is one to consider seriously, particularly with his proven ability to find extra late in the piece.

Verdict

In a race where cases can be made for many, Smith earns the nod thanks to his previous Lingfield win and solid credentials at the trip. The Colorist looks the chief danger given his recent strong finishing effort, while Easter Icon is another worth noting if building again on his latest success.

Mr Baloo (best odds 6/1 at bet365)
Highly progressive of late, Mr Baloo has rattled off a superb winning streak and will be looking to maintain his sharp upward curve.

Kind Of Kiss (best odds 6/1 at Unibet)
Showed significant promise last time with an improved effort and could be poised to capitalise on a favourable mark here.

Koy Koy (best odds 14/1 at Betvictor)
Although Koy Koy has not fired consistently, he holds a touch of class and could find this slightly easier than recent assignments.

Arcadian Nights (best odds 7/1 at bet365)
Arrives seeking a fourth straight win, and Arcadian Nights appears to be thriving; he’s entitled to huge respect on recent form.

Beraz (best odds 8/1 at Betvictor)
Has shown signs of coming back to form this term, and a breakthrough could be close if Beraz can build on those runs.

Silent Age (best odds 9/1 at bet365)
Although not the most consistent, Silent Age has enough ability to land a blow if finding everything to his liking.

Son Of Man (best odds 7/1 at Unibet)
Placed in his last two outings, Son Of Man has every right to be thereabouts again if the race unfolds kindly for him.

Rogue Encore (best odds 16/1 at bet365)
Hasn’t built on early promise this season, but Rogue Encore could bounce back with a better showing at this distance.

Lordsbridge Blu (best odds 16/1 at Betvictor)
Often thereabouts without landing a blow, Lordsbridge Blu needs everything to fall perfectly to get his nose in front.

Cephalus (best odds 8/1 at bet365)
Bounced back to form recently and Cephalus has the profile of a horse who could continue improving for this partnership.

Paradoxical (best odds 10/1 at Unibet)
Has been enjoying a fruitful campaign and Paradoxical should go close if maintaining his current momentum.

Bajan Bandit (best odds 14/1 at Betvictor)
Reliable without being spectacular, Bajan Bandit could pick up some late pieces if the leaders go too hard early.

Hitched (best odds 20/1 at bet365)
Fair efforts on his day and Hitched could outperform his odds if finding a clear passage through the field.

Tribal Wisdom (best odds 22/1 at Betvictor)
Will need to rediscover his best efforts to figure here, but Tribal Wisdom has the stamina and could surprise a few if conditions favour.

Verdict

This looks an evenly matched affair, but Kind Of Kiss is taken to strike after a big step forward when third in a stronger event over course and distance. Arcadian Nights brings winning form and seems a major player once again, while Cephalus might offer each-way value if producing another polished performance.

Blue Prince (best odds 5/1 at bet365)
Placed in his last two starts, Blue Prince arrives in great form and looks well capable of making his presence felt.

Sterling Knight (best odds 12/1 at Betvictor)
Consistent without winning recently, Sterling Knight could sneak into the mix with a strong finish at the right time.

Farasi Lane (best odds 12/1 at Unibet)
Regular competitor in good company, Farasi Lane needs to pull out something extra but remains dangerous on his day.

Legal Reform (best odds 8/1 at bet365)
Brings rock-solid recent efforts to the table, and Legal Reform should be in the thick of it if replicating his best form.

Dragon Icon (best odds 9/2 at bet365)
Back to calmer waters here, Dragon Icon could prove a big danger if able to recapture the spark shown last season.

Dembe (best odds 13/2 at Betvictor)
Bang in form after consecutive wins, Dembe is thriving and looks a live contender once more under ideal conditions.

Sous La Neige (best odds 12/1 at Unibet)
Has struggled for consistency but Sous La Neige has the raw ability to outrun his odds if finding everything to suit.

Bravo Zulu (best odds 9/1 at bet365)
Improving type who has bagged two wins lately, Bravo Zulu could be right there at the business end again.

Kalamunda (best odds 8/1 at Betvictor)
Holding steady form this year, Kalamunda should have a say if getting the gaps when it matters most.

Longlai (best odds 20/1 at bet365)
Longlai needs to produce more than seen recently but a return to top form would bring him into each-way calculations.

Helm Rock (best odds 14/1 at Unibet)
Better than his recent form figures suggest, Helm Rock could pop up if he gets the strong pace he often needs.

Dingle (best odds 8/1 at bet365)
Made a welcome return to winning ways last time, and Dingle is capable of going close again if building on that confidence booster.

Verdict

This competitive mile handicap should produce a thrilling finish. Dembe, in red-hot form with two straight victories, could be the one to side with as he continues to improve. Dragon Icon appeals as the biggest threat if returning to his best, while Bravo Zulu offers solid each-way claims with recent momentum on his side.

1. Haaland – Best odds: 9/2 with Bet365

Despite showing glimpses of ability in recent starts, this gelding has struggled to land a blow when it matters. He’s fitted with cheekpieces again, and although he has the talent to be involved, his finishing effort remains questionable. Worth monitoring but hard to back with full confidence.

2. Poncho – Best odds: 7/1 with Betvictor

Delivered a win over shorter here in the winter and continues to run solid races in defeat. Has a handy draw and tends to stick on well, though whether this longer trip truly suits remains open to debate. Not without a chance if stamina holds.

3. Upepo – Best odds: 3/1 with Bet365

On a real upward curve since moving into staying handicaps, with a strong recent win followed by a solid third. Boasts course and distance credentials and is clearly thriving in this grade. Should go close again with minimal improvement required.

4. Dance Time – Best odds: 5/1 with Unibet

Consistent without being dominant, this five-year-old has placed on both outings this term. He keeps finding one or two too good but is rarely far away. Rossa Ryan’s booking is a plus, and he’s one to consider if the race becomes a tactical affair.

5. Wannabe Brave – Best odds: 7/4 with Bet365

A string of highly promising runs without getting his head in front lately, but the level of consistency is striking. He stays well and has responded well to the visor, but he does tend to find one better. Likely to be popular, but perhaps vulnerable to a stronger finisher once more.

6. Alright Sunshine – Best odds: 16/1 with Betvictor

Formerly smart in better company but now very much on a retrieval mission. Recent efforts suggest he’s a shadow of his former self, although he’s lurking on a tempting mark. The ability is there, but backing him requires a leap of faith.

Verdict

Upepo is selected to confirm his recent progress with another strong display over this course and distance. Dance Time could give him the most to think about if the race is run to suit, while Poncho may sneak into the placings if seeing out the trip.

Cabelleroso – 16/1 (Best odds: Unibet)

Ended last season with a victory and has shown a solid level of ability over this trip. However, this represents a tougher challenge, and he may need further improvement to trouble the main contenders. Could be an outsider worth monitoring.

Rajeko – 5/4 (Best odds: bet365)

Produced an eye-catching performance when finishing runner-up in a Group 2 event in Qatar last month. That form stands out in this company, and if he maintains that level, he will be difficult to beat. Strong contender.

Rebel’s Gamble – 15/2 (Best odds: Betvictor)

Has done little wrong so far, winning two of his three career starts. He is now facing a rise in class, but his battling qualities could make him dangerous if he stays competitive at this level. One to consider.

Bountiful – 2/1 (Best odds: bet365)

A progressive type who showed plenty of ability last season, winning twice before finishing fourth in stronger company. If he has developed further over the winter, he could be a major player in this contest. A definite threat.

Dance In The Storm – 10/1 (Best odds: Betvictor)

Produced a professional display when getting off the mark at the second attempt. This represents a significant rise in class, but he is trained by Andrew Balding, who does well with improving types. Could be one for each-way backers.

Enola Holmes – 50/1 (Best odds: bet365)

Won on her second career start but was well beaten last time in lesser company. The rise in grade looks a stiff assignment, and she will need to find a great deal more to feature here. A longshot.

Raneenn – 15/2 (Best odds: Unibet)

Had an impressive juvenile campaign, winning twice, before failing to fire in her final start. With William Haggas overseeing her progress, there’s every chance she can bounce back. If she returns to her best, she could be competitive.

Verdict

Rajeko ran a strong race in Qatar last month and looks the class act in this field. Bountiful is an improving sort and could be his main challenger if taking another step forward. Rebel’s Gamble has been highly consistent and could be involved if handling the step up in grade. Raneenn has the ability to get involved if recapturing her best form.

Alice’s Impact (13/2) – bet365
Although her recent results don’t jump off the page, Alice’s Impact has been showing signs of improvement. With Rossa Ryan booked for the ride, she could be one to watch if she gets a clean break from her stall. A competitive effort is expected at this level.

Brinton (5/2) – Betvictor
A reliable performer at this level, Brinton has been knocking on the door with two third-place finishes in his last two starts. With Hector Crouch in the saddle and a favorable inside draw, he looks primed for another strong showing. A leading contender.

Capallcliste (3/1) – Unibet
Had some consistent performances last season but struggled to land a win. However, his placed efforts suggest he’s capable, and with William Carver taking the ride, he could go close again. Needs to find an extra gear in the closing stages.

Muy Barato (13/2) – bet365
Not the most reliable, but Muy Barato has had flashes of form that suggest he’s capable on his day. Luke Morris takes the ride, and if he gets the right trip, he could make an impact in this field.

Rainbow Sign (7/2) – Betvictor
This seven-year-old is well-experienced and has found himself in the mix in similar contests. If he can reproduce his best efforts, Kieran O’Neill could steer him into contention late in the race.

Run Joy Run (33/1) – Unibet
A longshot in this lineup, Run Joy Run will need a career-best effort to get involved. However, Joey Haynes has been booked, and if the race is run to suit, an improved display could see him sneak into the places.

Taskheer (8/1) – bet365
Struggled for form lately, but Taskheer has previous winning experience over this distance. If Jack Mitchell can get him into a good rhythm, he might be able to produce a surprise performance.

Tilsworth Max (40/1) – Betvictor
Has shown little in recent starts, but Tilsworth Max has a small amount of past form that suggests he may be able to outrun his odds. Sean Levey will need to work hard to get him competitive, but stranger things have happened.

Verdict

A competitive field, but Brinton has been knocking on the door and looks ready to capitalize on recent placed efforts. Capallcliste is another who should be in the mix given his consistency, while Rainbow Sign is an experienced runner who shouldn’t be overlooked. Alice’s Impact and Muy Barato have claims if they find improvement, but Brinton appears to hold the strongest chance of getting the win.
