What Is Tournament Challenge?
bet365 has teamed up with Incentive Games to bring you Tournament Challenge — a free-to-play prediction game covering the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League. Predict the outcomes of UCL matches, rack up points, and climb the leaderboard for a share of the prizes each matchday — no stake required.
The game sits under the Free Games tab in the Football section on the bet365 website and app, so it’s quick to find and even quicker to enter.
🆕 What’s New: Preferred Team
The big update for 2026/27 is the Preferred Team feature. When you play, you’ll be given the option to select your favourite club. Once chosen, you’re automatically placed into a dedicated fan league — so you can compete not just on the global leaderboard, but specifically against other supporters of the same team.
If you’d rather keep it global only, you can skip the prompt — and you won’t be asked again. It’s a simple opt-in that adds a whole new social layer to the game.

How to Play Tournament Challenge
1
Find the Game
Log in to bet365, go to the Football section and tap the Free Games tab. Tournament Challenge is listed there — you can also access it via dedicated banners across the bet365 site and app.
2
Register Your Entry
One entry per person. Registrations must be completed before the last scheduled UCL game kicks off (5th June 2027). You can edit your predictions pre-match — once a fixture goes in-play, predictions are locked.
3
Select Your Preferred Team (Optional)
During gameplay you’ll be prompted to pick your favourite club. Do so and you’re placed into a dedicated fan league. Skip the prompt if you prefer — you won’t be asked again and you’ll still compete on the main leaderboard.
4
Make Your Predictions
Predict the outcome of UCL matches. Points are awarded based on correct selections. The more accurate your predictions, the higher you climb on the matchday leaderboard.
5
Check the Leaderboard — and Win
After each matchday, leaderboard positions are finalised and prizes paid out. 1st place wins £20,000 cash. The top 100 players each matchday receive something — down to £1 Bet Credits for 51st–100th.
BT4Y’s Guide to Tournament Challenge — How We’d Play It
Free-to-play games like this are won by the smart player, not just the lucky one. Here’s how we’d approach Tournament Challenge to give ourselves the best shot at that £20,000.
BT4Y Tip 01
Don’t Always Back the Favourite
The top leaderboard is determined by who gets the most correct — and if everyone picks Real Madrid to beat a lower-ranked side, you gain no edge. Look for matchdays where a credible upset is likely (think a group-stage game where the big side rotates) and back it. If you’re right when others aren’t, you shoot up the leaderboard.
BT4Y Tip 02
Pick Your Preferred Team Strategically
The fan league is a separate competition within Tournament Challenge. If your club has a massive fanbase (Man City, Real Madrid, Liverpool), expect hundreds in your league. Smaller club supporter? Your fan league will be thinner — meaning your chances of topping it are realistically higher. Worth factoring in if fan-league standing matters to you.
BT4Y Tip 03
Focus on the Matches You Know
If you follow the Premier League obsessively, your predictions on Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Villa in UCL games will be sharper than on Benfica vs Shakhtar. Play to your knowledge. Confident picks beat guesswork every time — use your genuine football insight rather than gut instinct on unfamiliar sides.
BT4Y Tip 04
Check Team News Before Kick-Off
You can edit your predictions right up until kick-off — so use that. If a key striker is ruled out the morning of the game, adjust. Injuries and rotations in UCL can flip a “safe” favourite result entirely. Make it a habit to check lineups closer to kick-off before your selections are locked in.
BT4Y Tip 05
Play Every Matchday — Even the Quiet Ones
The prize is per matchday, not overall. Don’t skip a midweek UCL round just because there are fewer fixtures — those rounds often have fewer entries too, which means your relative chances improve. Consistency across the whole season maximises the number of shots you have at the £20k top prize.
BT4Y Tip 06
Target the Higher Points Swings
If points are weighted by how “surprising” a result is, correctly calling an upset is worth significantly more than calling the nailed-on favourite. Identify one or two matches per round where you genuinely believe the underdog has a case — these are your differentiators against the field, and where leaderboard positions get reshuffled.
“Tournament Challenge is all about bringing fans closer to the action and the Preferred Team feature gives us an opportunity to deepen engagement by building on the loyalty fans already have for their clubs. It gives another reason for users to return to the game and gives them a more meaningful way to compete throughout the season.”

Preferred Team Feature
What is the Preferred Team feature?
Preferred Team is a new addition for the 2026/27 season that lets you select your favourite club during gameplay. Once selected, you’re automatically placed into a dedicated fan league alongside other supporters of the same team, giving you a second leaderboard to compete on alongside the main global one.
Do I have to choose a Preferred Team?
No — it’s completely optional. The selection prompt appears naturally during gameplay. If you skip it, you won’t be asked again and you’ll still compete on the main matchday leaderboard as normal.
Can I change my Preferred Team after selecting?
The PR materials don’t specify a change option — if this is something you’re keen to do, we’d recommend checking the full T&Cs on bet365 or contacting their customer support directly.
Is the fan league separate from the main prize leaderboard?
Yes. The main matchday leaderboard is the one tied to the cash prizes (up to £20,000 for 1st place). The fan/club league is an additional social layer that lets you compete against fellow supporters — it’s about bragging rights within your club’s community.
Prizes & Rules
How much can I win in Tournament Challenge?
The top prize is £20,000 cash for 1st place on the matchday leaderboard. 2nd wins £5,000, 3rd wins £1,000, 4th wins £250. From 5th place down to 100th, prizes are paid in Bet Credits (£100, £25, £5 and £1 respectively). Prizes are paid per matchday, not for the overall season.
Can I edit my predictions?
Yes — you can edit or reset your predictions before a fixture kicks off. Once a game is in-play, no changes can be made to that fixture’s prediction.
When does Tournament Challenge close for entries?
The overall entry window closes at kick-off of the last scheduled tournament game on 5th June 2027. However, per-match predictions must be submitted before each individual fixture’s kick-off.
