Reasoning Valencia’s home form and Oviedo’s poor record point towards a victory for Los Che. Hugo Duro and Arnaut Danjuma, both in goalscoring form, should generate multiple chances against a struggling defence. Combining team success with reliable attacking output gives this Bet Builder strong potential. |
Valencia to Win
Valencia’s campaign has been a mixed one, with two victories, two stalemates, and two losses from their opening six fixtures. Nevertheless, Carlos Corberan’s side are proving difficult to beat at Mestalla and arrive with a run of four points from their last two matches. Their 2-0 triumph against Athletic Bilbao highlighted their defensive solidity, while the draw with Espanyol underlined their resilience in challenging moments.
By contrast, Real Oviedo are languishing in 18th, having managed just a single league win all season. They were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in midweek, continuing a run of three consecutive defeats. Away from home, their struggles are more pronounced, and their last victory at Valencia’s ground dates back to 1988. With history, form, and squad depth all favouring the hosts, the likelihood of Valencia securing maximum points looks particularly strong. Backing them for a win is therefore a logical starting point in this Bet Builder.

Hugo Duro – 2+ Shots on Target
Hugo Duro has become the heartbeat of Valencia’s frontline, providing both movement and finishing ability. He scored in the 2-2 draw with Espanyol and remains a constant danger in and around the penalty area. Playing as one of the front two, his role ensures he receives regular service, both from wide areas and through balls from midfielders like Javi Guerra.
Duro is rarely shy of pulling the trigger, and his work rate ensures he gets himself into multiple scoring positions during matches. Considering Oviedo’s defence has already shipped 13 goals in six games, the opportunities for Valencia’s leading striker to test goalkeeper Joan Escandell appear plentiful. The visitors’ back line has looked particularly uncomfortable when defending against pace and direct runners, which Duro can exploit.
Given his form, involvement in the attacking phases, and Oviedo’s defensive frailties, the expectation is that Duro will manage at least two accurate efforts on goal. This selection strengthens the attacking aspect of the Bet Builder.
Arnaut Danjuma – 2+ Shots on Target
Alongside Duro, Arnaut Danjuma has added cutting edge to Valencia’s attack. The Dutch forward was also on the scoresheet against Espanyol, and his performance demonstrated why he has become such an important player under Corberan. Capable of drifting wide or running directly at defenders, Danjuma often unsettles opposition backlines, creating both space and chances for himself.
His willingness to shoot from distance, combined with quick movement inside the box, ensures he regularly tests opposing goalkeepers. Against an Oviedo team struggling with organisation and low on confidence, Danjuma is likely to find ample opportunities. With Nacho Vidal and Alvaro Lemos unavailable, the visitors’ defensive reshuffle may provide further openings for him to exploit.
Danjuma’s versatility makes him difficult to contain: he can cut in from the flanks or link up neatly with Duro through the middle. The balance of Valencia’s attack is such that he will inevitably receive scoring chances. Expecting at least two shots on target is realistic, especially in front of the home support at Mestalla.
