North Macedonia have gone three consecutive matches without scoring — two goalless draws against Ireland and Bosnia & Herzegovina followed by a 4-0 defeat to Turkey. Bojan Miovski and Eljif Elmas provide options in theory, but recent output offers little encouragement. Switzerland, meanwhile, are without Granit Xhaka and Denis Zakaria in central midfield, with Breel Embolo also suspended. The visitors’ attacking depth — Dan Ndoye, Winsley Boteli and Johan Manzambi among the options — may be enough to find a goal against a home defence that knows how to hold its shape, but North Macedonia’s current inability to score makes both teams finding the net a pattern that the recent evidence does not support in this fixture.
