 2yo, 14 Runners

 Flat,Turf , 5f , GOOD TO FIRM, Good in places (GoingStick 7.5) (Watering) (Rail movements: 6.30, 8.00 & 8.30 +15yds)

1. Archibald Ives – Best odds: 17/2 – BetVictor

Archibald Ives didn’t show much first time but improved slightly second time out. With experience now on his side and a handy draw, Liam Wright could help him find more from a nice stalking position.

Suggested bookmaker: BetVictor

2. Blue Jammin – Best odds: 20/1 – bet365

This William Muir and Chris Grassick-trained colt Blue Jammin is an unknown quantity making his debut. With Cam Hardie taking the ride, he may benefit from patient handling and could catch the eye late on.

Suggested bookmaker: bet365

3. Calafiori – Best odds: 6/1 – Unibet

Well backed on debut but not quite delivering, Calafiori showed flashes of potential in that run. With the excellent Billy Loughnane up, and natural progress expected, he could easily take a step forward in this weaker field.

Suggested bookmaker: Unibet

4. Dandy’s Rocket – Best odds: 20/1 – bet365

Dandy’s Rocket looked in need of the outing last time and returns quickly for another try. Michael Appleby’s colt might find this ground and sharper trip more to his liking.

Suggested bookmaker: bet365

5. Diamond Ali – Best odds: 14/1 – BetVictor

Diamond Ali is another debutant with an eye-catching name, and although the yard is low profile, this could be a sharp type. Dylan Hogan takes the ride, and improvement can’t be ruled out from stall 14.

Suggested bookmaker: BetVictor

6. Oh West Virginia – Best odds: 7/1 – bet365

Although unplaced last time, Oh West Virginia shaped with some promise and comes from a yard that can get juveniles to fire early. Aidan Keeley remains in the saddle, and this could be a livelier effort from a better draw.

Suggested bookmaker: bet365

7. Renovatio Angel – Best odds: 25/1 – Unibet

Renovatio Angel debuts here with little buzz around him in the market, but Tom Dascombe’s runners often come on for their initial start. If he’s forward enough, this colt might show more than expected.

Suggested bookmaker: Unibet

8. Send The Navy – Best odds: 66/1 – BetVictor

Send The Navy was well beaten on his first try and will need to find plenty to challenge today. That said, he’s open to improvement and could be sharper with that experience under his belt.

Suggested bookmaker: BetVictor

9. Shaman Champion – Best odds: 4/1 – bet365

Shaman Champion has been noted in the market and showed enough on debut to suggest more is to come. Pat Cosgrave keeps the ride, and he looks poised to run a big race with even slight progression.

Suggested bookmaker: bet365

10. Who’s On First – Best odds: 8/1 – BetVictor

Who’s On First appeared green and inexperienced on debut but showed a little ability late in the race. Stuart Williams tends to bring them on second time and he could sneak into contention if sharper.

Suggested bookmaker: BetVictor

11. Blossom In The Air – Best odds: 20/1 – Unibet

Blossom In The Air wasn’t far away on her first run and could come forward from that. Dominic Ffrench Davis is having a solid season with two-year-olds, and she could grab a place if things go her way.

Suggested bookmaker: Unibet

12. Lexington Express – Best odds: 10/1 – bet365

Lexington Express made a pleasing start and looked like a quick learner. Alice Haynes continues to deliver results with her juveniles and this runner could easily build on that promising opening.

Suggested bookmaker: bet365

13. Moghitha – Best odds: 5/2 – BetVictor

The market leader, Moghitha, ran with real purpose last time and finished full of running. With Connor Planas taking off 3lb, and a stable in cracking form, she sets a strong standard.

Suggested bookmaker: BetVictor

14. Ocean Pie – Best odds: 14/1 – bet365

Ocean Pie may need more time to develop but the dam’s side of the pedigree suggests there could be improvement to come. Shane Gray takes the mount, and this might be a stepping stone for future races.

Suggested bookmaker: bet365

Verdict

While Moghitha heads the betting and looks hard to oppose on paper, Shaman Champion has the potential to close the gap with a stronger run second time out. Lexington Express is another who made a solid impression first up and shouldn’t be discounted for the places.

1. Black Cab – Best odds: 100/1 – BetVictor

Still without a placing after three runs and has shown little to suggest he can challenge at this level. Looks set for another educational run. Suggested with: BetVictor

2. Dark Tornado – Best odds: 7/4 – bet365

This gelding displayed flashes of promise when last seen and has figures suggesting he’s ready to strike. Carries more experience than most, and this looks a solid opportunity. Bookmaker pick: bet365

3. Albeyours – Best odds: 50/1 – Unibet

Couldn’t land a blow in his only previous run and would need to find massive improvement to get involved here. Likely a longer-term project. Bet with: Unibet

4. Exactly Right – Best odds: 5/2 – bet365

Made a striking impression when getting off the mark second time out. That success suggested further improvement is on the cards, and he’s a leading player here. Top odds via: bet365

5. Festive Time – Best odds: 16/1 – BetVictor

Only has one outing under his belt and was well held that day. May strip fitter now, but others bring stronger credentials on paper. Use: BetVictor

6. Havana Whisper – Best odds: 11/1 – bet365

Yet to show enough to be seriously considered, though connections are capable of finding improvement. May need this before really stepping forward. Try with: bet365

7. Jet Packer – Best odds: 9/2 – Unibet

Brings more experience than most and has previously run to a fair standard. Not without a chance if he can settle into a rhythm early on. Back at: Unibet

8. Regal Guest – Best odds: 12/1 – BetVictor

Caught the eye when finishing third last time out and could be one to keep an eye on. Likely to improve further, especially under today’s rider. Top bookie: BetVictor

9. Rogue Diplomat – Best odds: 6/1 – bet365

Runner-up on both appearances last term and shaped with promise. Should be right there again with that foundation behind him. Recommended via: bet365

Verdict

Exactly Right impressed with the manner of his victory last time and has the potential to follow up in a race like this. Rogue Diplomat looks a solid danger based on last year’s efforts, while Dark Tornado shouldn’t be underestimated returning from a break and may go well fresh.

Betting And Gaming Council Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

  •  5yo+, 6 Runners
  •  Jumps,Turf , 2m 6f 151y , GOOD TO SOFT, Soft in places (GoingStick: 5.8) (Rail movements: 2.20, 2.50, 3.20 & 3.55 +49yds and 4.28 & 5.02 +33yds)
  •  Winner £7,922, 2nd £3,645, 3rd £1,823, 4th £912, 5th £455

1. Marlay Park – Best odds: 8/1 – bet365

This veteran has plenty of miles on the clock but still retains some ability. Ran below expectations at the tail end of last season but isn’t without a squeak off this rating. Recommended with: bet365

2. Shelbourne – Best odds: 5/2 – BetVictor

Posted an encouraging return when fourth at Wolverhampton and should improve for that effort. Stable remains in decent nick, and the drop in class looks favourable. Top choice via: BetVictor

3. Gincident – _(Non-Runner)_

Was due to represent in-form connections and held strong claims on past efforts. However, he’s been declared a non-runner.

4. Marsh Benham – _(Non-Runner)_

Also withdrawn from this contest. Would have had some appeal on his best figures.

5. Dakota Power – Best odds: 7/1 – bet365

While form figures are patchy, he’s shown enough at times to be dangerous when things go his way. Has tactical speed and should enjoy conditions. Bet with: bet365

6. Another Baar – Best odds: 7/1 – Unibet

Dropped in the weights and has shown glimpses of ability in stronger company. If things fall right, he could be in the frame at a decent price. Bookie recommendation: Unibet

7. Queens Road Revue – Best odds: 7/1 – BetVictor

Scored over this course and distance last season and represents a yard that often readies one first time out. Could sneak into the reckoning if handling the return. Try via: BetVictor

8. Amathus – Best odds: 16/1 – bet365

Recent efforts have been uninspiring, but he’s now well below his last winning mark. If rediscovering a spark, he could run better than the odds imply. Wager with: bet365

Verdict

With Gincident out, the picture opens up considerably. Shelbourne shaped nicely on reappearance and can go one better now back on turf. Queens Road Revue is no stranger to this venue and shouldn’t be dismissed, while Another Baar has potential to bounce back in a weaker contest.

Leicester 19:00

Berkeley Insurance Group Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

 Winner £5,281, 2nd £2,430, 3rd £1,215, 4th £608, 5th £303

 5yo+, 4 Runners

 Jumps,Turf , 1m 7f 201y , HEAVY (GoingStick: 3.4) (Rail movements: 2.15, 2.45, 3.15, 4.15 & 4.45 +49yds and 3.45 +33yds)

Do Your Job – 11/1 (📌 bet365)

Hasn’t been in top form this season, failing to trouble the leaders in recent outings. However, he’s been running in stronger company and could find this race more suitable. Needs to rediscover his best, but not without a chance if he does.

Mr Grey Sky – 7/2 (📌 BetVictor)

Ran well in defeat last time and seems to be getting back to form. Has performed respectably in similar races and could be well suited to the conditions here. If he builds on his latest effort, he should be in contention. A serious player.

Diamond Dice – 2/1 (📌 Unibet)

Has been running well of late but comes with risks, having unseated his rider in one of his recent starts. However, his placed efforts before that suggest he has the ability to make an impact if keeping his jumping clean. A strong chance if avoiding mistakes.

Lucky Lugger – 7/4 (📌 bet365)

Arrives in fine form, having secured victory last time out after a series of consistent runs. He appears to be on an upward curve and has the credentials to be a major factor again. One of the leading contenders in this lineup.

Verdict

Lucky Lugger comes into this in good shape and looks capable of doubling up after his recent win. Diamond Dice has shown promise but must prove his jumping can hold up under pressure. Mr Grey Sky has the experience to be a threat and should be in the mix, while Do Your Job will need to improve but is not completely ruled out. However, Lucky Lugger is the one who makes the strongest appeal.

Leicester 19:30

Quorn Maiden Hunters’ Chase

 Winner £2,980, 2nd £1,491, 3rd £745, 4th £373, 5th £186

 6yo+, 5 Runners

 Jumps,Turf , 2m 4f 25y , HEAVY (GoingStick: 3.4) (Rail movements: 2.15, 2.45, 3.15, 4.15 & 4.45 +49yds and 3.45 +33yds)

For One Night Only – 4/1 (📌 bet365)

Showed ability when landing a point-to-point win two starts ago but struggled when last seen under rules. Has potential for further progress, but needs to prove he can replicate his best efforts in this company. Capable if putting everything together.

Important Notice – 11/8 (📌 BetVictor)

Highly regarded in the pointing field, having won multiple times in that sphere. However, his record under rules is slightly inconsistent, with a mix of victories and non-completions. If he jumps cleanly, he is the one they all have to beat.

Pyleigh Court – 9/2 (📌 Unibet)

Has a fair bit of experience, with placed efforts in both point-to-points and under rules. Returned from a long break with a solid third last time out and should strip fitter for that effort. Can be competitive with further improvement.

Wallace Olinger – 3/1 (📌 bet365)

Consistent performer in the pointing sphere, picking up a win and several runner-up finishes. Fell on his first attempt over regulation fences but bounced back strongly to win next time out. Has to be respected if producing a clear round.

Fine Dining – 20/1 (📌 BetVictor)

Yet to make a significant impact in this sphere and was pulled up on his most recent appearance. Will need a major step forward to trouble the leading contenders. Looks an outsider on form.

Verdict

Important Notice has shown enough in point-to-points to suggest he can make an impact here, provided his jumping holds up. Wallace Olinger looks like the biggest threat, especially if he can build on his recent good form. Pyleigh Court should be fitter after his recent return and could go well, while For One Night Only has ability but needs to step up in this company. However, Important Notice gets the nod as the most likely winner.

Leicester 20:00

Cottesmore Open Hunters’ Chase

 Winner £7,451, 2nd £3,728, 3rd £1,862, 4th £933, 5th £465

 6yo+, 8 Runners

 Jumps,Turf , 2m 6f 151y , HEAVY (GoingStick: 3.4) (Rail movements: 2.15, 2.45, 3.15, 4.15 & 4.45 +49yds and 3.45 +33yds)

Autonomous Cloud – 10/1 (📌 bet365)

Has shown glimpses of ability this season, posting a respectable fourth last time out. However, overall form has been inconsistent, and he needs to step up to be a major player. Could be competitive if running to his best, but others appeal more.

Bennys King – 15/2 (📌 BetVictor)

A veteran chaser who still retains ability despite his advancing years. Placed last time after a string of pulled-up efforts, suggesting he might be returning to form. If he can maintain that upward trajectory, he could have a say in the finish.

D’Jango – 33/1 (📌 Unibet)

Struggled in recent outings and has yet to show enough to suggest he can make an impact at this level. Will need to produce something significantly better than his latest efforts to feature here. Unlikely to be a major player.

Gracchus De Balme – 5/2 (📌 bet365)

Won well two starts ago and ran a fine race in defeat last time. Progressive sort with plenty of ability in this sphere. Should be involved in the business end of the race if maintaining his current form. One of the key contenders.

Rebel Dawn Rising – 5/1 (📌 BetVictor)

Arrives with solid hunter chase form and has won in this sphere previously. Beaten into second last time but still ran a respectable race. Could be in with a chance if improving on that effort. Worth considering.

Givega – 9/4 (📌 Unibet)

Has looked highly promising, winning back-to-back races before being given a short break. If he picks up where he left off, he could be difficult to stop. Clearly one of the strongest contenders in the field.

Bothwell Bridge – 20/1 (📌 bet365)

Ran well in point-to-points but faces a tough challenge against this company. Has shown flashes of ability, but will need to step up considerably to be a factor here. Hard to fancy against stronger rivals.

Lord Du Mesnil – 7/1 (📌 BetVictor)

A capable performer on his day but hasn’t been able to find his best form recently. Last couple of runs suggest he still retains some ability, and if he puts in a big effort, he could challenge for a place. Not without hope.

Verdict

Givega has looked like an exciting prospect and could well extend his winning streak with another strong showing. Gracchus De Balme has also been progressing well and looks the main threat. Rebel Dawn Rising could be a value contender if he finds improvement, while Lord Du Mesnil has an outside chance if everything falls into place. However, Givega has the most convincing profile and is the one to beat.
