1. Couldntmakeitup – 8/1 with BetVictor

Put in a strong performance last time when finishing runner-up, showing tenacity late on. That effort hinted at further progression to come, and with the benefit of race fitness, he’s a credible threat. One to keep an eye on if building on that momentum.

2. Eye On The Ball – 20/1 with Unibet

Debuting in this sphere with little in the way of exposed form, but bred to handle hurdles. Needs to find plenty, though a quiet market could disguise hidden talent. Hard to assess, but not ruled out completely at this level.

3. I Am River – 5/2 with bet365

A smart yard debutant who failed to complete earlier but comes from a powerful stable known for its patience. Shows potential on the gallops and looks capable of much more. If jumping improves, he could be hard to beat in this company.

4. In The Trenches – 11/4 with BetVictor

Hardy performer with solid recent efforts and looks overdue a maiden victory. Tactically versatile and always gives his rider something to work with. Conditions suit, and he’s one of the main dangers to the market leaders.

5. Keep Kool Coko – 3/1 with bet365

Never far from the action in past runs and brings a good level of consistency to the table. Travelled well last time and shaped as though further improvement is likely. Could be thereabouts again if given a clear shot at them.

6. Orkneys Jack – 50/1 with BetVictor

Not much encouragement to take from previous runs and improvement is needed in all departments. Needs to turn around form to stand a chance, but would be a big surprise winner.

7. Tedworth – 100/1 with bet365

Well held in all his starts so far, and little to suggest he can make an impact here. Likely to struggle again unless producing a major turnaround.

8. Twelve Tribes – 100/1 with Unibet

Showed nothing of note in previous attempts and has a lot to prove. Unlikely to feature prominently unless showing dramatic improvement.

9. Western Note – 25/1 with bet365

Only one run under rules, but shaped with a bit of promise. Open to progress and could take a step forward if finding rhythm early. Might be one for the long-term, but an each-way interest isn’t ruled out.

10. Whiskey On Ice – 14/1 with BetVictor

Caught the eye when finishing with purpose last time. Has some scope to improve and if reproducing that effort could surprise a few. Looks well suited by this distance.

11. Damoso – 100/1 with Unibet

Has shown little on his only start and would need a huge leap forward to figure. Others are much more convincing on form and promise.

12. Aine Beag – 33/1 with bet365

Absent for some time, and not much form to speak of. Likely to need this outing before we see what she’s really capable of. May struggle to keep up with some of these.

13. Belle Of Boston – 100/1 with BetVictor

No spark in two career efforts and makes little appeal on current evidence. Needs to show dramatic progress to get involved.

14. Sea Of Doubt – 14/1 with bet365

Put in some promising displays and deserves another look here. Has hit the frame more than once and stays this trip well. Not out of the frame if things go her way.

15. Belle Coko – 50/1 with Unibet

Unexposed and hasn’t had many chances, but no form so far to recommend her. Needs to take a big leap forward to trouble the better-fancied runners.

16. Eponine Etoile – 100/1 with BetVictor

Flat experience hasn’t translated to hurdling success, and there’s not much to suggest that will change today. Others are more appealing.

17. No Demand – 100/1 with bet365

Showed limited ability on debut and difficult to support based on that run. Needs to find major improvement, and quickly.

18. Annilogs Force – Non-runner

Declared at another meeting and does not take part.

19. Mountain Ahead – 50/1 with Unibet

Absent for a long spell and little on the record to inspire confidence. Should need this outing and better days may lie further down the line.

Verdict

In The Trenches has the most solid profile and may finally get his deserved maiden win in this company. Keep Kool Coko brings form and consistency to the table and should be involved throughout. Whiskey On Ice is one who could surprise with improvement, and Sea Of Doubt might sneak a place at decent odds with the right pace scenario.

1. Huntsgrove – 13/2 with BetVictor

Opened his account at long last with a determined effort last time and seems to be maturing with experience. The extended trip should pose no threat, especially after showing grit in testing ground conditions. May not have the flashiest profile, but he’s genuine and could battle his way into the mix.

2. Toad Hall – 4/5 with bet365

Progressive sort representing a powerhouse yard, and his earlier victories suggest he holds significant potential over staying trips. Hasn’t been seen for a while but is sure to be primed for this return. Everything points to a big run if he adapts quickly to this marathon assignment.

3. Cooke’s Lass – 7/2 with Unibet

Made a successful start under rules and now steps into deeper waters. Though untested at this distance, the manner of her victory implies she could relish a stamina challenge. Has scope to improve and must be taken seriously with a top yard guiding her career.

4. Long Gone – 4/1 with bet365

Returned with a below-par effort but prior form suggests he can bounce back. Landed a small race two runs ago in convincing fashion and seems better when allowed to dictate the pace. If he finds his rhythm early, he’s capable of surprising the leading contenders.

5. Reiki Revolution – 20/1 with BetVictor

Yet to truly make his presence felt at this level, though he hasn’t been disgraced in his recent outings. Faces a steep task here and would need the others to falter to land a serious blow. More likely to be running for minor money.

Verdict

Cooke’s Lass could be the one with untapped staying potential and the right profile to upset the market leader. Toad Hall undoubtedly has class and must be respected, especially on stable reputation and his earlier exploits. Long Gone may prove dangerous if allowed a soft lead, while Huntsgrove brings resilience and experience that could count for something late on.

1. Loup De Tallane – 10/1 with Unibet

Showed glimpses of ability in previous seasons, though consistency remains elusive. Capable on a going day, particularly when kept handy. Shouldn’t be overlooked if building on his more positive past efforts.

2. Blue Reed – 6/1 with bet365

Boasts some solid placed form, albeit without a win for some time. Remains well handicapped and should enjoy this distance. Could be a live player if finding rhythm early under a patient ride.

3. Cosmo Renfro – 22/1 with BetVictor

Recent performances have been disappointing, though he wasn’t disgraced in stronger company last year. A bounce-back would be needed, but he’s shown ability in the past and is not entirely out of the question.

4. Simpletwistoffaith – 33/1 with Unibet

Has struggled to make an impression in recent starts and form figures offer little encouragement. Faces an uphill task unless showing a dramatic return to earlier promise.

5. Kinbara Hills – 9/1 with bet365

Not far away in a few solid efforts and might be sharper now for a recent outing. Carries potential to step forward in this company and looks capable of making the frame with a strong finish.

6. Ballykinlar – 28/1 with BetVictor

Form tailing off lately, but not without potential. Needs everything to go right to get involved, but wouldn’t be the biggest shock if sneaking a place with a clear passage.

7. Our Uncle Jack – 14/1 with Unibet

Has hinted at better form on occasion and shaped like a possible improver in this class. Slight concerns over fitness after time off, but he’s a type that could catch fire under the right circumstances.

8. Welcome Aboard – 13/2 with BetVictor

Lightly raced and returns after a break, but open to further progress. If primed, this could be the ideal race to show more. Shortlist material on potential alone.

9. Johanna’sjean – 16/1 with bet365

Modest on paper, but connections are capable of springing surprises. Requires a leap of faith, though she might run into a minor placing if the pace collapses late.

10. No Big Deal – 14/1 with Unibet

Yet to deliver anything of note under rules, but did show faint promise in isolated efforts. Improvement needed, but the mark is workable if he puts it all together.

11. Silent Dawn – 9/1 with BetVictor

Occasionally shows spark and looks capable of outrunning his price. Best when held up off a strong gallop. Could be dangerous if conditions suit his running style.

12. Getaway Master – 33/1 with bet365

Form figures uninspiring, and he’s hard to fancy on current evidence. Improvement required, though rider booking suggests at least some level of ambition.

13. Give Him A Chance – 2/1 with BetVictor

Finished close up in several recent efforts and looks on the verge of a breakthrough. Clear claims based on consistency and seems to be thriving at the moment. A leading contender on paper.

14. Run For Cover – 12/1 with bet365

Has gradually worked back into form and could build on his last run. Trip looks to suit, and might outrun his odds with a prominent ride.

15. Sydney Cruiser – 16/1 with Unibet

Often involved in mid-division without threatening the leaders. Wouldn’t need massive improvement to place here but a win may be a stretch.

16. Give Her Hollie – 22/1 with BetVictor

Limited exposure so far, and while she hasn’t shown much, it’s early days. Outsider status is warranted but could catch the eye with more experience.

R17. Theanniversary Man – 25/1 with bet365

Likely to struggle based on previous runs. Would be a shock to see him involved without a major turnaround.

R18. Tea It Is – 16/1 with BetVictor

Better days behind him on paper but does stay this distance. Could sneak into the money if catching a soft race but is more speculative than solid.

R19. Aboy Joey – 16/1 with Unibet

Tough to gauge with any confidence, although he has finished mid-pack in stronger contests. Could surprise at a price with the right trip.

Verdict

Give Him A Chance arrives here with solid form and seems ready to shed the maiden tag. Welcome Aboard is the most intriguing of the lightly raced contenders and could step forward considerably. Blue Reed has the consistency to stay in contention throughout, while Silent Dawn is a potential value play if the race turns tactical.

1. Malbas – 9/2 with bet365

Scored well two starts back and didn’t run badly last time out either. Can travel strongly and looks fairly treated again off this mark. Likely to be played late and could easily come home best if the leaders tire.

2. Torquay Road – 22/1 with BetVictor

Struggled for form throughout his recent campaign and arrives here needing to turn things around. Does have a workable rating if he can spark back to life, but others make more solid appeal on current evidence.

3. Moulane West – 15/8 with Unibet

Produced a decisive display to win last time and looks to be going the right way. Should appreciate the ground and the return to this trip. Big player again if he replicates that effort.

4. Jerrari – 8/1 with BetVictor

Turned in a decent fourth when last seen and may just be starting to find his feet. Represents a respected yard and might improve further. Can’t be ruled out with a cleaner round of jumping.

5. Applejack Poet – 8/1 with bet365

Been running consistently without quite getting over the line, but he’s often thereabouts. Should relish this trip and looks like one for each-way money if the pace plays to his strengths.

6. Kartel And Co – 22/1 with Unibet

Nothing to get excited about based on recent runs, and he needs to produce something new to threaten this lot. Would be a surprise if he figures prominently, though he is dropped in grade.

7. Who’s In Midfield – 12/1 with BetVictor

Has shown glimpses of promise in limited appearances, and though hard to assess with confidence, this mark might be lenient. Could go well fresh if tuned up and might be one for the shortlist at a price.

8. My Good Pal – 7/1 with Unibet

Not beaten far recently and has been gradually working back into shape. Gets in here off a nice racing weight and may well be ready to strike. Can go close if the race unfolds to suit.

9. Boston Bongo – 33/1 with bet365

Has failed to land a serious blow in most of his appearances, and while a turnaround isn’t impossible, he’s hard to back with confidence. Will need everything to go his way.

10. May Call You Back – 11/4 with BetVictor

Comes in on the back of a narrow win and has claims if the 7lb penalty doesn’t anchor him. Carries stable confidence and is clearly in good form. One of the main contenders despite the added burden.

11. Surviving Murmansk – 20/1 with Unibet

Been struggling to find his best form this season and needs to bounce back sharply. That said, he has some past form that would give him a squeak if rediscovered. Probably best watched unless there’s a market move.

Verdict

Moulane West arrives here in winning form and appears well-placed to double up if building on that success. My Good Pal has been knocking on the door and could pounce if the race turns tactical. Malbas should not be discounted either with a favourable mark and recent solid runs, while May Call You Back remains dangerous despite a rise in the weights.

1. Aspurofthemoment – 9/4 with bet365

Arrives on a hat-trick of wins over hurdles and now takes a natural step into chasing. Represents a stable that excels in this division and clearly has momentum behind him. If taking to the larger obstacles, he’s a serious threat from the outset.

2. Beaufort Scale – 15/2 with BetVictor

Capable of a bold run when in the mood, although consistency hasn’t always been a strength. Handles the track and has the assistance of a top jockey. If putting his best foot forward, he could sneak into the picture.

3. Desert Cave – 25/1 with Unibet

Pulled up last time and carries a patchy record, but has a touch of ability if settling into a rhythm. Others make stronger claims on recent form, though the switch to fences might trigger some improvement.

4. Ennell Shadow – 50/1 with BetVictor

Yet to get seriously involved in previous starts and has plenty to prove now sent chasing. Needs a big leap forward to make any real impression. More of a watching brief here.

5. Game On – 5/1 with Unibet

Broke through the maiden ranks last time with a professional display and appears to be on the upgrade. From a reliable yard with solid novice chase credentials, and if he adapts to fences quickly, he could go very close.

6. Lehaunstown – 14/1 with bet365

Fairly reliable over timber without winning, and now moves to the larger obstacles in a bid to progress further. Might benefit from experience, but best watched on debut over fences unless supported in the market.

7. Nouvotic – 5/1 with BetVictor

Showed steady progression last season and shaped like a future chaser. Trained by one of the most astute minds in the business, and if he jumps fluently, could be right in the thick of it.

8. Nowwhatdoyouthink – 10/1 with bet365

Opened his account in a maiden hurdle before fading late last time out. Interesting recruit to fences and might find this track more to his liking. Has claims if jumping holds up.

9. St Cuthbert’s Cave – 4/1 with Unibet

Has already won over the course and distance under rules and ran with credit last time out. Should handle the transition to fences and represents a team that does well with chasing recruits. Strong claims.

10. Walhaan – 20/1 with bet365

More known for his efforts on the level and lacks any standout efforts over hurdles. The code switch might bring new life into him, but he’s a longshot on known jumps form.

11. Jumping Susie – 33/1 with BetVictor

Has a win to her name but didn’t go on from that and struggled against stronger fields. Fencing debut today and needs to show more spark if she’s to be competitive in this lineup.

12. Karacole – 100/1 with Unibet

Been well beaten on several occasions and makes little appeal on what’s been shown so far. Needs to produce a huge career-best to have any say.

Verdict

Game On brings solid form and a progressive profile to the table and could make a winning start over fences if adapting smoothly. St Cuthbert’s Cave looks a major danger with experience on his side and a win already on the board. Nouvotic shouldn’t be overlooked, particularly with a strong team behind him, while Aspurofthemoment commands attention but might be worth opposing at cramped odds on his chase debut.

1. Macinamillion – 5/1 with BetVictor

Looked sharper when returning to action with a respectable fourth, and may strip fitter this time around. Trained by a shrewd operator and steps in here with scope off this mark. Could feature prominently if the tempo suits his style.

2. She’s A Fine Wine – 11/2 with bet365

Finished last season on a slightly disappointing note but had previously hinted at above-average ability. May be suited by the likely conditions and could find this trip well within range. Can get involved if returning near peak form.

3. Nt Field Minnesota – 15/2 with Unibet

Landmark victory earlier last term but has failed to complete since. Talent isn’t the question—consistency is. If the jumping holds up, he could easily bounce back, especially with an elite rider booked.

4. Freddie Robdal – 9/2 with bet365

Signed off last season with a gutsy win and returns with confidence intact. Could find further success off this mark, especially if building on that momentum. Dangerous to dismiss if he settles into a rhythm early.

5. Cheerful Chap – 7/2 with BetVictor

A model of consistency in recent outings and clearly thriving at present. Yet to score over fences but has gone very close on several occasions. Looks ready to get his head in front if getting the right pace to aim at.

6. Big Island – 8/1 with Unibet

Showed a bit more spark last time out and now steps back up in trip, which should suit on breeding. Well handicapped if everything clicks. Interesting outsider if given a positive ride from the front.

7. Kilashee – 16/1 with bet365

Veteran runner whose form has tailed off but retains a touch of class. Connections apply pressure with a useful claim, and he could sneak into the frame with a revival. Needs to show more but not completely ruled out.

8. The Little Yank – 10/1 with Unibet

Ran with credit on recent comeback and could strip much fitter this time. Has winning form in the book and represents a yard that knows how to prime them second-up. One for value hunters in a race like this.

9. Spellacy’s Cross – 12/1 with BetVictor

Often runs an honest race and has shown he can handle this level. Might be slightly high in the weights but has place prospects if things fall his way. Could be one to watch at bigger odds.

Verdict

Freddie Robdal makes plenty of appeal returning from a break, with his previous win suggesting more is to come. Cheerful Chap has been knocking on the door and is bound to be thereabouts again. Macinamillion is one to note now fully fit, while The Little Yank might offer a touch of each-way value for punters seeking a price.
