Pro Solar NI Maiden Hurdle

 Winner £4,876, 2nd £1,570, 3rd £744, 4th £331, 5th £165, 6th £83

 4yo+, 11 Runners

 Jumps,Turf , 2m 5f 185y , GOOD TO YIELDING (Selective watering)

1. Arabian Diamond – Best Odds: 6/4 – bet365

A solid performance when third on his most recent outing suggests this seven-year-old is starting to find his feet over hurdles. Gordon Elliott’s charge appears to be improving gradually and the extended trip may well bring out more. Definite place potential with the right rhythm.

2. All Eyez On Me – Best Odds: 50/1 – BetMGM

Has failed to complete on three of his four most recent starts and, despite his connections persevering, his jumping remains a major concern. Unlikely to feature unless producing a completely transformed display.

3. Game On – Best Odds: 7/1 – Unibet

Was runner-up in a maiden at Navan before a slightly less convincing sixth when last seen. Represents Noel Meade’s stable and has shown enough to merit respect in this grade. Could threaten the places if everything clicks.

4. Quality Control – Best Odds: 28/1 – Betvictor

No real spark on debut when trailing the field. May well come forward for the run, especially with Gordon Elliott doing the training, but needs significant improvement to enter calculations.

5. Quantum Quest – Best Odds: 4/1 – bet365

Showed promise in a series of mid-division finishes and may be suited by the longer trip today. JJ Slevin takes over in the saddle and Henry de Bromhead’s runner looks to be shaping in the right direction. Each-way claims look strong.

6. Retreat Archie – Best Odds: 50/1 – BetMGM

Unplaced in all starts to date, offering little to suggest he’s ready to step forward in this type of contest. Would be a surprise to see him get involved based on current form.

7. Savant Du Mesnil – Best Odds: 20/1 – Unibet

Some minor encouragement to be drawn from his midfield finish two runs ago. Likely needs softer ground or further to be at his most effective, but has shown just enough to be kept in mind for minor money.

8. Toad Hall – Best Odds: 11/10 – bet365

Held in the highest regard and made a strong impression when runner-up in both starts. Trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, he looks primed to get off the mark. Clearly the one to beat, though not much value in the price.

9. There’s Always One – Best Odds: 33/1 – Betvictor

First-time tongue-tie fitted but hasn’t shown enough in previous efforts to inspire confidence. Others have shown more substance and potential.

10. Having A Cut – Best Odds: 33/1 – BetMGM

Still very green and shaped like a long-term project. Unlikely to make an impact in this sort of company just yet. Opposable.

11. Seven Towns – Best Odds: 66/1 – bet365

A real outsider on paper with limited experience and virtually no form to speak of. Needs a miracle improvement to feature here.

Verdict

Toad Hall remains the standout with his consistency and connections, and today should be his day. That said, Quantum Quest has quietly progressed and might give the favourite something to think about, particularly at the weights. Game On is another with potential to challenge for the minor honours if returning to his best. For those seeking each-way value, the latter pair offer more enticing odds than the market leader.

Congratulations To Pinkerton On Winning The Tote Galway Plate Rated Hurdle

 Winner £8,209, 2nd £2,643, 3rd £1,252, 4th £557, 5th £278, 6th £139

 4yo+, 8 Runners

 Jumps,Turf , 2m 1f 165y , GOOD (Selective watering)

1. Kalsman – Best Odds: 13/2 – bet365

Took a sizeable step forward when scoring here last time, suggesting the step up in distance worked to his benefit. Carries top weight, but capable of mounting a strong finish if building on that effort. Has to be considered a serious player.

2. Seskin Flash – Best Odds: 5/2 – Betvictor

Has been knocking on the door and arrives with solid form in similar contests. Keith Donoghue keeps the ride, and while he’s yet to win over hurdles, his consistency makes him one to respect. Sure to be popular in the market.

3. Caulaincourt – Best Odds: 33/1 – BetMGM

Lightly raced and yet to show enough to suggest a breakthrough is imminent. Struggled on reappearance and others come here with stronger credentials. Faces an uphill task.

4. Peckham Springs – Best Odds: 28/1 – Unibet

Hasn’t made much impact in recent starts and is difficult to fancy on the balance of recent efforts. Looks up against it in this company unless rediscovering his form of old.

5. Jimli’s Cave – Best Odds: 12/1 – bet365

Was pulled up last time but had previously landed a course success and could bounce back under more suitable conditions. If forgiven the last run, he’s not without a squeak at bigger odds.

6. Cher Tara – Best Odds: 11/4 – Betvictor

Arrives here off the back of a convincing win, and with Gordon Elliott in her corner, she’s sure to attract attention again. Has gone up in the weights but clearly progressing. A major threat if she gets the lead.

7. Voice Of Reason – Best Odds: 8/1 – BetMGM

Form has been somewhat erratic, but a slight step back in trip and a return to this track might spark an improved showing. Has work to do but wouldn’t be the biggest shock if he crept into the frame.

8. Ilbdare – Best Odds: 10/1 – bet365

Has been running more encouragingly than the bare results might suggest. A couple of eye-catching late efforts indicate there’s more to come. Dangerous to dismiss completely in a race like this.

9. Kilkee Royal – Best Odds: 14/1 – Unibet

Took a tumble last time and needs to rebuild confidence. There were glimmers of promise before the fall, so not entirely ruled out. One for the braver punters.

10. Fire Force – Best Odds: 20/1 – bet365

Beaten a long way in recent outings and hasn’t offered enough encouragement to suggest a return to form is around the corner. May be best watched this time around.

11. Our Zebo – Best Odds: 12/1 – Betvictor

Well-held when last seen but prior efforts hinted he could be dangerous if everything falls right. Represents a shrewd stable and might sneak into contention if the tempo suits.

12. Coco Lightning – Best Odds: 11/2 – BetMGM

Consistently in the mix of late and has handled similar conditions before. A lively contender for a place and not far off landing one of these. One to include in the shortlist.

13. Doyen Flyer – Best Odds: 9/1 – bet365

Has shown flashes of ability and might be coming to the boil at the right time. Needs a bit of luck in running but wouldn’t be out of place in the finish with a clear round.

14. Are We Dancing – Best Odds: 25/1 – Unibet

Still learning the game and showed very little so far. Improvement required to get competitive, but lightly raced and might be one for the future more than today.

Verdict

Kalsman edges the vote here, having impressed with a tidy victory last time out over course and distance. While Cher Tara will be the one many expect to follow up, she may be vulnerable under a bigger burden. Coco Lightning has been quietly consistent and deserves respect for each-way players. Ilbdare also catches the eye at a value price with scope to progress.

Shortcross Gin Handicap Hurdle

 Winner £5,130, 2nd £1,652, 3rd £783, 4th £348, 5th £174, 6th £87

 Jumps,Turf , 2m 1f 165y , GOOD (Selective watering)

1. Ciao Adios – Best Odds: 9/2 – bet365

Returned to winning ways last time and did so with a degree of authority. The rise in the weights adds a new challenge, but Adrian Murray’s six-year-old looks to be in top shape and should remain competitive if maintaining recent progress.

2. Fool Me Once – Best Odds: 7/1 – Unibet

Although results haven’t dazzled recently, there are glimpses of ability lurking beneath the surface. Trained by Gavin Cromwell and partnered with Keith Donoghue, this five-year-old isn’t one to dismiss entirely in a race lacking a clear standout.

3. Gamigin – Best Odds: 13/2 – BetMGM

Has struggled with consistency since his win earlier in the season, but his latest fourth showed signs of life. If building on that effort, he’s capable of sneaking into the placings, particularly if things get tactical up front.

4. Tankardstown Diva – Best Odds: 8/1 – bet365

Pulled up last time but had shown glimpses of promise before that, particularly when finishing close up two starts ago. Not the most reliable, but she could outrun her odds if returning to that earlier form.

5. Burren Song – Best Odds: 12/1 – Betvictor

Still searching for his best form since returning from a break. Yet to fire this campaign but did shape as if retaining ability a couple of runs ago. Others appear more likely, though he wouldn’t be the first to spring a surprise in this grade.

6. Chortal – Best Odds: 6/1 – bet365

Lightly raced and trained by Gordon Elliott, this youngster is still learning the game. Shown enough to suggest a maiden victory isn’t far away, and this could be the ideal opportunity to take that next step forward. Respected.

7. Read To Return – Best Odds: 15/2 – BetMGM

Has been holding his own without threatening to win, but this trip suits and he’s in the right grade. With Daniel King aboard and cheekpieces retained, a bold showing wouldn’t be entirely out of the question.

8. A Mere Bagatelle – Best Odds: 11/2 – bet365

Found only one too strong last time and has placed in similar events before. Handles this sort of distance and carries fewer question marks than most. Another solid run looks likely and he’s one of the more reliable types in the line-up.

9. Telnobody – Best Odds: 14/1 – Unibet

Still hasn’t pieced it all together since going handicapping, though latest run hinted at possible improvement. Faces stronger opposition here and will need to raise his game to feature prominently.

10. Walk In The Sea – Best Odds: 12/1 – Betvictor

Stepping back slightly in distance may suit, and her recent outings weren’t without merit despite the modest results. Unlikely to be among the favourites but could sneak into contention if others falter.

11. I’m For Home – Best Odds: 12/1 – bet365

Struggled to land a blow in recent starts, though wasn’t disgraced in his last attempt. Has dropped down the weights and might take advantage of the leniency soon—keep an eye on market moves.

Verdict

Chortal is the pick in a wide-open contest. Gordon Elliott’s four-year-old has hinted at underlying ability and could take a big step forward with experience. A Mere Bagatelle has the profile of a consistent runner and should be in the mix once again. Gamigin, if repeating his latest effort, could pose a late threat, while Ciao Adios remains dangerous if handling the rise in ratings. A tricky puzzle, but Chortal holds the edge on potential.

 Jumps,Turf , 2m 5f 180y , GOOD (Selective watering)

1. Magic Boum – Best Odds: 10/1 – bet365

Started the season in fine fashion with a victory, though hasn’t quite replicated that since. Still, Gordon Elliott’s mare has scope to bounce back and returns with a capable 7lb claimer on board. Could go well if things fall into place.

2. Joueuse Royale – Best Odds: 7/1 – Betvictor

Kept on steadily in her last two starts and gives the impression she’s building toward something. De Bromhead’s charge stays this trip and Darragh O’Keeffe keeps the partnership intact. A bold showing wouldn’t surprise.

3. Slim Marvel – Best Odds: 12/1 – Unibet

Consistent without being flashy, this mare has often found one or two too strong in recent efforts. Wears blinkers again, and while a win may be a stretch, she can certainly stick on for a minor role.

4. Out For A Stroll – Best Odds: 11/2 – bet365

Has taken well to handicaps and arrives after finishing first and then second in recent outings. Still improving, and being trained by Joseph O’Brien adds further confidence. One of the leading players, particularly with Mark Walsh taking the reins.

5. Joya Del Mar – Best Odds: 20/1 – BetMGM

Has had a few opportunities now, though consistency remains an issue. Does have the ability to travel into races well, but finishing off has been her Achilles heel. Needs everything to go her way.

6. Stretchemout – Best Odds: 13/2 – Betvictor

Comes into this in decent form with a series of competitive efforts. Gordon Elliott’s second runner in the field has shown she can handle pressure at this level. Sam Ewing is booked again, and the mare makes each-way appeal.

7. Maid On The Moon – Best Odds: 9/4 – bet365

Produced a surprise win last time and has risen in the weights as a result. That said, she travelled smoothly through the race and saw things out well. While the market now respects her, backing up that performance won’t be easy in deeper waters.

8. Kilda Kelle – Best Odds: 16/1 – Unibet

Hasn’t made much of an impression in recent runs but takes a step up in trip here, which could suit. Trainer J P Dempsey reaches for a bit more experience in the saddle with L P Dempsey aboard. Likely an outsider with potential to outrun her odds.

9. Lilian Bland – Best Odds: 10/1 – bet365

A strong finish to her last race marked her as a mare in good heart, having gone close in her last two appearances. She’s fit, in-form, and clearly stays well. Will be staying on when others tire and deserves to be taken seriously.

Verdict

Out For A Stroll gets the nod following a pair of sharp performances which suggest she’s still on the upgrade. Her tactical speed and stamina combination could prove decisive. Lilian Bland has the look of a danger, especially if there’s a strong gallop, while Stretchemout continues to run creditably and appeals for each-way backers. Magic Boum, though a bit under the radar, could bounce back into contention if rediscovering her earlier season spark.

Bet on Due Course at Bet365

Eco Pete – 12/1 (Unibet)
While his recent runs haven’t been very strong, Eco Pete has previously shown glimpses of promise. He will need to find some of that earlier form to be competitive here.
Bet on Eco Pete at Unibet

Sea Road Fill – 100/30 (Betvictor)
Sea Road Fill has been consistent in handicap hurdles, and the switch to chasing could unlock further potential. He’s the current favorite, and many are backing him for success in this race.
Bet on Sea Road Fill at Betvictor

Tuckmill – 5/1 (Bet365)
After a convincing win last time out, Tuckmill heads into this contest with a lot of momentum. He’s a serious player here if he can replicate his recent winning effort.

Bet on My Policy at Betvictor

Halla Paroiste – 20/1 (Unibet)
Not shown much in his career so far, and it’s hard to make a strong case for Halla Paroiste. A big leap forward would be needed to trouble the more experienced runners.
Bet on Halla Paroiste at Unibet

Someone’s Wish – 9/1 (Bet365)
Ran respectably in recent flat races and now tries his hand over fences. If he takes to chasing, he could run into the places here.
Bet on Someone’s Wish at Bet365

Katakana – 13/2 (Betvictor)
A tricky horse to gauge, Katakana has run respectably on the flat but faces an uncertain transition to chasing. He’s one to watch, though, under the guidance of Rachael Blackmore.
Bet on Katakana at Betvictor

Verdict

In what looks like a competitive Beginners Chase, Sea Road Fill is the one to beat with his consistent performances over hurdles. However, Mrs Biddle is a serious threat, and Tuckmill shouldn’t be ruled out after his last victory.

Bet on Woodie Wango at Betvictor

Mullaghmore Wave – 16/1 (Unibet)
This runner has found it tough recently but is capable of producing better. If he can rediscover his form, Mullaghmore Wave could outperform his odds.
Bet on Mullaghmore Wave at Unibet

Singing Banjo – 12/1 (Bet365)
The 14-year-old veteran has shown flashes of ability, including a win last season. He’ll need to dig deep, but experience could see him outrun his odds.
Bet on Singing Banjo at Bet365

Verdict

The most likely winner looks to be Hand Over Fist, who enters the race in top form after a recent victory. However, Woodie Wango could be the one to watch if he builds on his recent efforts. Winding River also has a strong chance if he can replicate his earlier performances.
