1. Ascending Star – 10/1 (Top price at Betvictor)
Produced a fair introduction and will aim to build on that here. With Cieren Fallon taking the reins and a favourable draw, he’s one to watch if improving at the right time.

2. Boston Dan – 14/1 (Best value through Unibet)
This Richard Fahey-trained colt didn’t set the world alight first time out but could be sharper now. From stall 2, he’s well placed to break smartly and potentially surprise.

3. Calico Blue – 5/2 (Best odds via bet365)
Caught the eye on debut with a promising third, and punters are likely to side with this Varian-trained runner again. A strong performance is anticipated with more experience under his belt.

4. Chairmanfourtimes – 3/1 (Back him at Betvictor)
Stepped forward from his initial outing and looks poised to deliver another solid effort. Keatley’s colt should appreciate Chester’s sharp track and is among the frontrunners in the market for good reason.

5. Eduardo Calderon – 12/1 (Attractive price with Unibet)
Improved last time to finish third, and a repeat of that effort would put him in the mix. Has shown he handles the race tempo and shouldn’t be discounted easily.

6. Fanjove – 20/1 (Long odds available at bet365)
Hasn’t offered much across his two appearances but may fare better with a patient ride. A wide draw does him no favours, but there’s a slim chance he’ll sneak into the frame.

7. Koffee And Kale – 12/1 (Currently at Betvictor)
Finished fifth on both outings so far but hasn’t been disgraced. With Hollie Doyle aboard, he’s in capable hands if he can sharpen up at the start.

8. Lucky Hero – 12/1 (Best odds at bet365)
Offered little first time out, though the inside gate might allow for early positioning. He could take a step forward, especially if finding rhythm quickly.

9. Straight Ahead – 11/2 (Top value with Unibet)
Been kept busy already and continues to show gradual progress. Sean Kirrane’s mount brings experience to the table and may go close with a prominent ride.

10. Perineighs – 7/1 (Top choice via bet365)
Looked much sharper when finishing fourth latest, and with Jason Hart retaining the ride, further improvement is possible. Could outrun his odds if breaking well from the gate.

Verdict

This contest revolves around early development and track craft. Chairmanfourtimes brings a strong profile with a solid second start and the right blend of speed and draw. Perineighs is an improving type who could be dangerous if he gets a good tow into the race. Don’t discount Eduardo Calderon either—he’s been knocking on the door and looks ready to deliver a bigger run.

1. Witch Hunter – 11/1 at Bet365

Hasn’t been firing on all cylinders recently but retains a touch of class and has gone well in competitive company before. Could run a big race if things fall into place from a handy draw.

2. Fair Point – 15/2 at Betvictor

Capable sort who strung together a nice sequence last season. Makes seasonal debut here and should be considered if fit and ready.

3. Never So Brave – 11/4 at Bet365

Lightly raced and remains on an upward curve. Classy in previous wins and looks the one they’ll all have to aim at if handling this turning track.

4. Holguin – 16/1 at Unibet

Well beaten last time but has shown a glimmer of ability at this level. Could sneak a place if able to find previous form and bounce back.

5. Telemark – 9/2 at Betvictor

Returned from a break with a slightly underwhelming run but has the ability to feature here. Big run wouldn’t surprise with the yard in decent form.

6. Kingdom Come – 28/1 at Bet365

Out of sorts of late, and while he’s shown class in the past, recent evidence leaves plenty of questions. Others appeal more strongly.

7. Cerulean Bay – 16/1 at Betvictor

Failed to shine this year so far but can be dangerous if rediscovering old sparkle. Has conditions in his favour if bouncing back.

8. Rhoscolyn – 16/1 at Bet365

No stranger to big fields and can often be found staying on late. Always a threat when delivered right, but needs to break well from this draw.

9. Bobby Bennu – 11/2 at Unibet

Ran well first time up this season and remains relatively unexposed. May still have more to give and looks primed to run a big race.

10. Purest Time – 40/1 at Bet365

Hasn’t been able to land a blow in similar company and the step back into hot handicap waters doesn’t help his chances. Best overlooked.

11. Myal – 10/1 at Betvictor

Won two of last three before a solid third. Could progress further and one of the more interesting types at a double-figure price.

12. Brewing – 20/1 at Bet365

Yet to find rhythm this season and has something to prove. Recent form doesn’t inspire, but back class could see him outrun his odds.

13. Yanifer – 12/1 at Unibet

Has run well at this track in the past and isn’t without ability. Might find a few too strong this time, but not without a shout on best form.

Verdict

This race looks set to revolve around Never So Brave, who brings a strong profile into the contest and may prove hard to peg back if settling early. Bobby Bennu is one to note with fitness on side, and Myal could be the value angle if he gets luck in running.

1. Tricky Tel – 11/8 at Bet365

Made a winning debut here last time, showing solid early pace and handling the turns well. Clearly knows the track and sets a strong standard, though more is needed with penalties now in play.

2. Ahead Of Fashion – 9/1 at Betvictor

Had three outings and showed improved form when fitted with headgear most recently. Experience could help, but may need the front pair to falter to feature prominently.

3. Call Me By My Name – 20/1 at Unibet

Showed more on second start but failed to build on it last time. Not without ability, yet looks held by a few of these on current form.

4. Come On Over – 11/4 at Bet365

One of the more interesting types on paper, having shaped nicely on debut. From a yard that does well with their two-year-olds, and improvement is highly likely on this tighter circuit.

5. Full Gas – 16/1 at Betvictor

Didn’t land a blow on his racecourse bow and remains with plenty to prove. Faces a difficult task from stall one, especially if not quickly away.

6. Going Commando – 7/1 at Bet365

Took a step forward on his second run, staying on well without threatening the winner. Should benefit from another furlong and looks capable of placing with luck in running.

7. Goldenstateofmind – 13/2 at Unibet

Came within striking distance of the winner on debut and shaped with promise. A repeat effort or slight step forward would see her bang in contention here.

8. Malinga The Slinga – 100/1 at Bet365

Hasn’t shown much in two starts to date and improvement would need to be dramatic to threaten. Market vibes may guide more than form here.

Verdict

Tricky Tel looks the most reliable option after a strong debut victory over course and distance. The reappearance of Come On Over brings intrigue, and that one looks likely to progress smartly. Goldenstateofmind also caught the eye and may be the value alternative if she takes another step forward.

1. It’s Good To Laugh – 25/1 at Betvictor

Absent since last year and offered little when last seen. Hard to fancy based on recent form, but he’s dropped a bit in the weights and has run well at Chester in the past.

2. Percy Shelley – 11/2 at Bet365

Reliable type with good recent efforts under his belt. Could be in the mix again and has the services of De Sousa, which is a plus in tight finishes.

3. State Legend – 28/1 at Unibet

Yet to really fire since returning to the flat. Needs a significant bounce back to trouble this field and others make more appeal for now.

4. Wind Your Neck In – 33/1 at Bet365

Bit of a mystery recently and has yet to regain the level of form seen last season. Improvement required to make a mark here.

5. Surrey Belle – 3/1 at Betvictor

Knocking on the door with back-to-back runner-up finishes. Looks ready to strike and will be suited by the stamina test—must be considered a strong contender.

6. Hydroplane – 16/1 at Bet365

Smart sort on his day and stays very well, but hasn’t been seen for a long time on the flat. Might need the outing to sharpen up.

7. William Walton – 7/2 at Unibet

Showed plenty of fight on seasonal return and looks a progressive stayer. Draw could be tricky, but he should be finishing strongly.

8. Dreams Adozen – 8/1 at Bet365

Ran respectably in each of his last three and holds solid form at this trip. May find one or two with a bit more finishing kick, but not ruled out for a place.

9. Oman – 12/1 at Betvictor

Wasn’t disgraced on seasonal debut and may strip fitter here. Has a fair strike rate and wouldn’t be a huge surprise if involved.

10. Grey Fable – 13/2 at Unibet

Hugely improved since switching to this distance range. Still lightly raced and might have more to offer, though market strength will be informative.

11. Lagoon Nebula – 9/1 at Bet365

Hasn’t been easy to predict but did show decent staying form when last seen. If tuned up, he could play a late hand in this type of race.

12. Perseus Way – 40/1 at Betvictor

Better known for his exploits over hurdles and recent flat outings offer little encouragement. Others bring more to the table here.

13. Trojan Sun – 20/1 at Bet365

Landed a win two runs back but was soon put back in his place last time. More exposed now and will need everything to fall perfectly to figure.

Verdict

The improving Surrey Belle looks primed for a big effort following a pair of close seconds and should enjoy this extended trip. William Walton rates the biggest danger after a solid reappearance, while Grey Fable appeals as the each-way play with a strong profile for staying handicaps.

1. Box To Box – 11/2 at Bet365

This consistent performer has struggled for clear runs lately but still retains ability. Has previous course form, and a big run wouldn’t be a surprise under De Sousa.

2. Per Contra – 14/1 at Unibet

Hasn’t quite hit top stride this campaign but did show minor promise last time. Faces tough company but could find improvement over this distance.

3. Dream Harder – 8/1 at Betvictor

A past winner on the Roodee and often travels smoothly in his races. Needs a strong pace to be seen to best effect and could be flying home late.

4. Spirit Of Acklam – 11/4 at Bet365

Built on solid form to score impressively last time out. Has a good attitude and arrives in peak condition, making him a leading player once again.

5. Charmaine – 9/4 at Unibet

On a roll with back-to-back wins and remains on the up. Draw looks favourable, and she could be difficult to peg back if given her head in front.

6. Struth – 12/1 at Betvictor

Hasn’t quite recaptured last year’s consistency. Capable of bouncing back at any point, though others make more convincing cases at present.

7. Mighty Bandit – 10/1 at Bet365

Showed promise last season and had excuses when below form recently. Could go well if the ground suits and pace is honest.

8. Paradoxical – 20/1 at Betvictor

Racked up a couple of wins early in the year but form has tailed off. Needs a revival and appears vulnerable against better-treated rivals.

9. Miss Alpilles – 12/1 at Bet365

Fair effort on return and likely to strip fitter here. Could sneak into the frame if getting a clear passage in the straight.

10. Gordon Grey – 20/1 at Unibet

Scored in a modest race earlier in the spring but hasn’t backed it up. Tougher challenge today and would be a surprise winner on current form.

Verdict

Charmaine has taken her form to a new level in recent weeks and has every chance to complete the hat-trick. Spirit Of Acklam remains a key danger after a polished win and has a strong finishing kick. For those seeking a longer-priced option, Dream Harder could provide late drama if the tempo is strong enough up front.

1. Convo – 33/1 at Betvictor

Returned with a lacklustre effort and has yet to convince over this trip. Big outsider here, and others make more pressing claims.

2. Lady Of Andros – 7/1 at Bet365

Stepped forward from her juvenile efforts on reappearance. Handles this trip well and might find her way into the frame with further progress.

3. Toomuchforme – 10/1 at Unibet

Disappointed when last seen but had previously shown plenty of ability. Can’t be written off entirely with De Sousa booked.

4. Sea Emily Run – 5/1 at Bet365

Well backed last time and didn’t get the smoothest passage. Should come on for the run and looks set for another bold bid.

5. Nazuki – 100/30 at Betvictor

Improving fast and already a dual scorer. Well drawn to control the race from the front—likely to be tough to reel in if allowed to dictate.

6. Seraphim Angel – 7/1 at Bet365

Hasn’t quite backed up her winning effort yet this season but remains dangerous if finding rhythm from stall one.

7. Educating Rita – 10/1 at Unibet

Struggled on reappearance but remains on a workable mark. Could run better than odds suggest if bouncing back near her best.

8. Mollie Foster – 8/1 at Bet365

Solid performer last year but was well below par on return. Needs a sharp turnaround in form to be a factor in this contest.

9. Eartha – 16/1 at Betvictor

Showed flashes of promise as a juvenile but yet to replicate that level recently. May find this a little too quick if others go forward early.

10. Ziggy’s Ariel – 14/1 at Bet365

Landed a win earlier this spring but found life tougher since. A return to prominent tactics could help if breaking sharply from the gates.

11. Glamour Show – 11/2 at Unibet

Has won and placed consistently, and ran creditably last time despite being caught out wide. Could be dangerous if slotting in early from her draw.

12. Beauty Nation – 20/1 at Betvictor

Flattered by her early-season form and failed to fire on return. Trainer has a good record here, but she looks up against it based on the field.

Verdict

Front-runner Nazuki is improving with every run and looks well placed to dominate from a handy draw. Sea Emily Run has plenty going for her if the race sets up off a strong pace. Meanwhile, Glamour Show continues to look well treated and shouldn’t be dismissed lightly for place honours.
