1. Athena’s Fortune – Best odds: 50/1 – Betvictor
Stuart Williams unleashes this daughter of a speedy influence, who debuts with headgear to sharpen her up. She’s bred for sprinting but may need experience today to make any real impact.
Suggested with: Betvictor
Our Take: Looks a long-term project rather than an instant contender; minor progress would be a positive.
2. Availability – Best odds: 14/1 – Bet365
John Butler introduces this newcomer drawn well in stall 1. There’s a touch of pace in the pedigree, but her work might still be a step behind more forward types.
Best with: Bet365
Our Take: Likely to benefit from a race under her belt; could show more in time.
3. Due Destiny – Best odds: 5/1 – Bet365
Archie Watson’s entries often come prepared, and this filly shaped nicely at home according to reports. William Cox takes the ride on this unexposed type, who may enjoy the surface.
Recommended bookmaker: Bet365
Our Take: Certainly one to consider in a race lacking exposed form; holds decent win credentials.
4. Eclipser – Best odds: 11/8 – Unibet
Charlie Clover’s juvenile ran with promise on debut and posted solid numbers in defeat. Hector Crouch maintains the partnership, and she should be wiser for that initial outing.
Go to: Unibet
Our Take: Likely to be a popular selection; leading claims but comes with a skinny price tag.
5. Gaia Tina – Best odds: 10/1 – Betvictor
The De Foy yard has a growing reputation with fillies, and this one appeals on breeding alone. Drawn handily, she could surprise if showing early zip.
Pick: Betvictor
Our Take: Unraced, but market signals could be telling—worth a glance in the prelims.
6. Houdini Miss – Best odds: 25/1 – Bet365
James Horton’s filly may need more time to come into her own, but she should learn plenty here. Jack Mitchell adds experience in the saddle.
Wager with: Bet365
Our Take: Not without hope, though others appear more advanced at this stage.
7. Jane Of The Jungle – Best odds: 100/1 – Betvictor
Jamie Osborne’s runner brings very modest figures into this contest. Wide draw and low speed ratings both count against her.
Back at: Betvictor
Our Take: Easy to look elsewhere unless the market speaks loudly late.
8. Miss Mambo – Best odds: 15/2 – Bet365
Rossa Ryan is a positive jockey booking for this Gay Kelleway-trained youngster. The damline suggests she could be better suited to sprints, and this looks a fair opening.
Use: Bet365
Our Take: Looks a live each-way shout if she can find early rhythm from a tricky draw.
9. No Way Hozay – Best odds: 14/1 – Unibet
Michael Keady’s representative runs in a hood for her introduction. Little known about her background, though rider claims 7lb and will be looking for a smooth trip.
Best through: Unibet
Our Take: Big question marks, but small yard surprises do happen—watch the board.
10. Out In The Cold – Best odds: 12/1 – Bet365
Daniel Muscutt takes the mount on this Michael Bell-trained filly. She has shaped well in her homework and represents a yard that knows how to prep for polytrack.
Back her at: Bet365
Our Take: Could go well at a decent price; place potential looks realistic.
11. Spirit Star – Best odds: 25/1 – Unibet
Marco Botti introduces this filly with modest credentials from her pedigree. Benoit De La Sayette is a capable rider, but the formbook offers little support.
Bet via: Unibet
Our Take: Plenty to prove at this level—surprise package if she figures.
12. Sunshine And Roses – Best odds: 7/1 – Betvictor
Jack Channon’s two-year-old could be a threat if handling the synthetic surface. Charles Bishop is a reliable pilot and the draw offers tactical flexibility.
Place bet with: Betvictor
Our Take: Has enough about her to make a serious impression if showing promise in the early stages.
Verdict
Due Destiny is taken to land this maiden, with her profile suggesting more upside than most. Sunshine And Roses catches the eye as a viable contender at the odds and should be competitive throughout. Miss Mambo also appeals as a strong each-way alternative, particularly if she gets away sharply.

1. Star Legend – Best Odds: 11/4 – BetVictor
Consistent across both codes this season, James Owen’s gelding has been in excellent form on the all-weather. Equipped with a visor and partnered by Mason Paetel, he’s tactically versatile and should thrive over this marathon distance. Solid favourite and a major threat.
2. Night Horn – Best Odds: 9/1 – BetMGM
Made little impact on seasonal return but had hinted at ability last year with some respectable placed efforts. Michael Keady’s lightly raced 4yo might step forward for that pipe-opener, especially with Alice Bond claiming 7lb. A lively outsider if finding rhythm early.
3. Grand Duchess Olga – Best Odds: 9/2 – Unibet
Scored here over course and distance last time and now returns quickly under a 4lb rise. Chloe Lyons claims a valuable 7lb again for the Birkett yard. She’s clearly in form and could mount another bold bid if granted a smooth passage.
4. Sullivan Bay – Best Odds: 5/2 – bet365
Stays well and enjoys Chelmsford, with several strong efforts at this venue. Jim and Suzi Best’s mare goes back up in distance, and Aiden Brookes remains in the saddle. If the pace is honest, she could pounce late. Dangerous to discount.
5. Stretch – Best Odds: 8/1 – BetVictor
Lightly raced since joining Jack Channon’s yard and has yet to make a mark in handicaps. That said, George Bass is a positive booking, and this test could unlock some untapped stamina. Might be capable of better than he’s shown so far.
Verdict
Star Legend boasts rock-solid credentials and should take all the beating if producing his recent form. Grand Duchess Olga is on the up and returns to a track she handles well, while Sullivan Bay adds depth with strong course form of her own. Don’t ignore Stretch, who could prove a surprise package if finding improvement over this longer trip.

1. Al Durry – Best Odds: 11/2 – BetMGM
Well-supported on debut and shaped with promise when third in a similar contest. Jim Crowley retains the ride for Owen Burrows, and natural improvement is expected. One of the more serious challengers if building on that initial effort.
2. Amelia Sedley – Best Odds: 150/1 – Unibet
Struggled to land a blow in both starts last term and returns from a break with plenty to prove. Michael Attwater’s filly will need to show dramatic progression to feature here.
3. Beauty Beyond – Best Odds: 10/1 – BetVictor
Caught the eye late on when finishing fourth on her first start. Trained by the Crisfords and ridden by Harry Davies, she’s likely to sharpen up with that run under her belt. Could easily get involved at the business end.
4. Bun Bang Fai – Best Odds: 16/1 – bet365
Has shown a little bit of ability in two outings but lacked finishing punch. Archie Watson’s filly will appreciate more experience and may improve again, but needs to find a few pounds to match the main contenders.
5. Danza Parigina – Best Odds: 25/1 – BetMGM
Represents Marco Botti and makes her racecourse debut. Market vibes should offer guidance on her prospects, but likely to need this experience before progressing.
6. El Fox – Best Odds: 20/1 – Unibet
Disappointed in both runs as a juvenile. Has a decent pedigree but hasn’t yet translated that to the track. Luke Morris booked again, but will need a much stronger showing this time around.
7. Eternal Blessing – Best Odds: 7/1 – BetVictor
Only sixth on her debut, but that was a decent race and there was encouragement to take from her finish. David Menuisier’s filly is open to improvement, and Robert Havlin takes over. Not ruled out if taking a step forward.
8. Jazzy Baby – Best Odds: 66/1 – BetMGM
Debutant from a small yard and lacks any notable entries or expectations in the market. Will likely benefit from a run or two before making her presence felt.
9. Magdalayna – Best Odds: 66/1 – Unibet
Has yet to threaten in either appearance and will need a big leap forward to feature prominently. Hughie Morrison’s filly looks one for handicaps down the line.
10. Making Moves – Best Odds: 50/1 – bet365
Finished a long way back in both outings so far and shows no current sign of competitiveness at this level. Difficult to recommend despite the booking of Jason Watson.
11. Participle – Best Odds: Evens – BetVictor
Only found one too good on debut and that form has since worked out well. Ralph Beckett’s filly has fitness on her side and Rossa Ryan stays in the saddle. She sets the standard on known form and looks hard to oppose.
12. Stellenbosch – Best Odds: 13/2 – bet365
Placed three times from four starts and always gives her running. Richard Hannon’s representative has shown consistency, and Sean Levey will be hoping to finally get her head in front. Major player again.
13. True Colors – Best Odds: 8/1 – Unibet
Twice placed and looks a filly of some ability. Marco Botti has booked Oisin Murphy, which catches the eye, and she’s another with genuine win credentials if progression continues.
Verdict
Participle looks the filly to beat after a very encouraging debut and should be hard to deny with natural improvement. Stellenbosch is always in the mix and should again play a key role, while Beauty Beyond has potential to take a big step forward second time out.

1. Open Road – Best Odds: 11/1 – Unibet
Sent off at big odds on debut and shaped like a longer trip would suit. Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, he could take a significant step forward with experience under his belt and should not be overlooked for minor honours.
2. Perry Mason – Best Odds: 25/1 – BetVictor
Put in a slightly better effort second time out, but still has plenty to prove. Michael Wigham’s gelding may need further or a mark to become competitive. Others make more appeal for win purposes.
3. Senor Cortez – Best Odds: 100/1 – bet365
Form so far has been well below standard for this grade. Needs to show dramatic improvement if he’s to get involved. Hard to support on what we’ve seen to date.
4. Miss Tinkerbell – Best Odds: 33/1 – BetMGM
Jumping-bred filly making her debut on the Flat. Hughie Morrison is capable of readying one, but this looks a warm maiden and it would be a surprise if she figures prominently first time out.
5. Antipodes – Best Odds: 8/1 – bet365
Roger Varian’s newcomer is well bred and starts off with a hood. Ray Dawson rides, and market support would be significant. An intriguing prospect who could make an immediate impression.
6. Belaya River – Best Odds: 50/1 – BetVictor
Showed limited promise in two starts and appears to have a mountain to climb here. Charlie Fellowes will likely find an easier opportunity later in the season.
7. Believe In Success – Best Odds: 100/1 – Unibet
Beaten a long way on both runs so far. Hasn’t shown enough to inspire confidence and is passed over.
8. Deauville Blue – Best Odds: 12/1 – BetMGM
Had a quiet juvenile season but retains potential. Now returns as a 3yo and with Rossa Ryan aboard, he’s one to monitor closely if there’s market strength behind him.
9. Dor’s Dream – Best Odds: 100/1 – bet365
No form of note and hasn’t made an impression in his early career. Difficult to back with any confidence here.
10. Explode – Best Odds: 2/1 – Unibet
Shaped really well on his only start, showing a strong turn of foot to finish third in a deep race. James Ferguson has him fit and Oisin Murphy takes over. Strong contender and holds leading claims.
11. Grand Harbour – Best Odds: 20/1 – BetVictor
Improved to place last time, but Sir Mark Prescott’s colt still looks raw. Luke Morris continues the partnership and he’s likely to need more time to develop fully.
12. Mudbir – Best Odds: 15/8 – bet365
Finished second behind a useful rival last time out and represents the Gosden team. Jim Crowley retains the ride, and the colt’s form stacks up nicely. Major player with scope to progress further.
13. Royal Emblem – Best Odds: 33/1 – BetMGM
Stable debutant for Edward Smyth-Osbourne. Breeding suggests ability, but Georgia Dobie’s mount is likely to need experience before becoming fully competitive.
14. Sea Robbo Run – Best Odds: 10/1 – Unibet
Nicely bred and from a shrewd yard. This colt has been pleasing on the gallops and Robert Havlin is booked. Market confidence could be telling; not dismissed lightly on debut.
15. Take The A Train – Best Odds: 66/1 – bet365
Well beaten in both appearances and connections reach for blinkers. Hard to support unless showing dramatic improvement.
16. Team Player – Best Odds: 33/1 – BetVictor
Jack Channon’s runner makes his debut in what looks a competitive heat. George Bass claims 5lb, but with no form on offer, it’s tough to gauge expectations.
Verdict
Mudbir sets a strong standard following a close second last time out and looks the most likely winner if stepping forward. Explode is a major threat with an eye-catching debut run to his name, while Sea Robbo Run could offer each-way value if the vibes from the yard prove correct.

1. Shimmering Spin – Best Odds: 12/1 – Unibet
Had some creditable efforts as a three-year-old but has yet to deliver on early promise. Rossa Ryan is back on board, and Chelmsford could suit his running style. Place potential if things fall into place.
2. Armathia – Best Odds: 100/1 – BetVictor
Showed little on debut and connections now reach for the hood. Josephine Gordon retains the ride, but this looks far too competitive on paper for major involvement.
3. Aqab – Best Odds: 16/1 – bet365
Bred for middle distances and has shaped with some promise in both career starts. Sir Mark Prescott rarely leaves anything to chance, and a sharper showing wouldn’t surprise if the pace plays into his hands.
4. Arabian Story – Best Odds: 8/1 – BetMGM
Well-bred colt from a top yard, but hasn’t yet lived up to early expectations. Oisin Murphy keeps the ride, which is a major positive. If he can build on previous experience, he might go closer than the market suggests.
5. Competizione – Best Odds: 7/4 – BetVictor
A clear eye-catcher on his second start when finishing strongly. John & Thady Gosden’s colt is sure to benefit from the added distance and Robert Havlin’s booking keeps confidence high. Major contender.
6. Double Meaning – Best Odds: 33/1 – bet365
Showed modest progress as a juvenile and now returns from a break. John Berry’s runners often improve with racing, but this could be more of a prep than a winning attempt.
7. Emperor’s Logic – Best Odds: 66/1 – Unibet
Looked green and unbalanced on debut. There’s a chance of improvement, but he’s likely to be better suited to handicaps down the line. Opposable at this level.
8. Jupiter Ammon – Best Odds: 25/1 – BetMGM
Debut run was underwhelming and needs to find significant improvement. From a capable yard, so could leave that form behind with a cleaner trip, but best watched for now.
9. Kilima – Best Odds: 100/1 – bet365
Only beat one home on debut and remains a long shot. Needs more time and experience before he’s competitive in a race of this depth.
10. Mawood – Best Odds: 11/2 – Unibet
Makes his racecourse debut for the in-form Harry Eustace stable. Jim Crowley is a notable jockey booking. If the market speaks positively, this colt could make a big impression first time out.
11. River King – Best Odds: 3/1 – bet365
Has gone close twice and looks ready to strike. Richard Hannon has a strong record with this type and Sean Levey keeps faith. He’s the biggest threat to the favourite and should be in the mix again.
12. Rolling Luck – Best Odds: 66/1 – BetVictor
Nothing from two runs yet and still looks to be learning the game. Likely to do better once handicapped over further trips.
13. Sir Wootton – Best Odds: 25/1 – BetMGM
Stayed on one-paced on debut and improvement is needed. John Butler’s charge could step forward with race experience, but others are more appealing.
14. Summertime Blues – Best Odds: 13/2 – bet365
Debuts for Archie Watson with William Cox in the saddle. This colt has a useful pedigree, and if the market speaks favourably, he could run into the frame.
15. Wood Whisperer – Best Odds: 33/1 – BetMGM
From a modest yard and lacks any standout entries. Likely to find this too tough on debut unless showing surprising speed or tactical ability.
Verdict
Competizione appears ready to get off the mark after a much-improved run and gets the nod with fitness and experience on side. River King has built a solid foundation and rates a serious challenger. Mawood adds intrigue on debut and could offer value if the early signs are encouraging.

1. Smooth Silesie – Best Odds: 3/1 – BetMGM
Strong record over this trip and venue, showing consistency without quite getting her head in front lately. Rossa Ryan is a positive jockey booking, and with blinkers retained, she should go close again from a handy draw.
2. Twilight Madness – Best Odds: 7/2 – Unibet
Despite a few below-par efforts this season, this gelding boasts good form in better company and returns to a winnable mark. William Carver takes the ride, and with a decent pace to aim at, he could be finishing fastest.
3. Jojo Rabbit – Best Odds: 8/1 – BetVictor
Has shown glimpses of form in sprints, and recent efforts have been fair without being eye-catching. Ruth Carr’s 7-year-old might appreciate the drop in class and has an each-way shout if back to his best.
4. Agostino – Best Odds: 11/2 – bet365
Struggled a little since his win here last year but returns to the all-weather which suits him better. Marco Ghiani takes over in the saddle, and a revival could be on the cards from a yard that often does well with sprinters.
5. Buraback – Best Odds: 10/1 – BetMGM
Managed to get his head in front earlier this season and remains competitively treated. Derek Shaw’s runner is often underestimated and could be dangerous if getting a clear run in the final furlong.
6. Dark Side Prince – Best Odds: 4/1 – bet365
Stays consistent at this track and is usually in the thick of it late on. Lewis Edmunds knows him well, and off a workable mark, he’s expected to be in the mix again, particularly from a good starting stall.
7. Zola Power – Best Odds: 20/1 – Unibet
Form has dipped recently and hasn’t shown much sparkle since returning. Robert Cowell’s gelding will need to rediscover his best form to figure. Better watched for now unless the betting speaks positively.
8. Colors Of Freedom – Best Odds: 12/1 – BetVictor
Scored well last year but hasn’t quite recaptured that spark this campaign. William Cox hops aboard, and dropping to a light weight could help, but she needs to find more to challenge the market leaders.
Verdict
Smooth Silesie is overdue a win and has the ideal profile to finally get her reward. Dark Side Prince thrives at this venue and is likely to be close once again, while Agostino could bounce back returning to Polytrack with favourable conditions.

1. Kalik – Best Odds: 40/1 – BetMGM
Lightly raced and yet to make a real impact on the all-weather. Needs to show significant improvement to feature. Currently looks opposable in a race with several sharper rivals.
2. Temple Bruer – Best Odds: 12/1 – Unibet
Hasn’t found the same spark this year after a win last term. Marco Ghiani is back on board and a return to previous Chelmsford form could spark a revival, but the jury remains out.
3. Dark Dreamer – Best Odds: 10/1 – Bet365
Some better signs shown on his latest start, staying on steadily. Mike Murphy’s charge is now lurking on a workable mark and with Sean Levey aboard, he’s a potential sleeper in this line-up.
4. Bill Plumb – Best Odds: 11/1 – BetVictor
Flashed promise before finding little last time. Luke Morris knows how to ride this type and could bring out a bit more from the 6yo. A tricky but not impossible contender at a double-figure price.
5. Gundogan – Best Odds: 14/1 – BetMGM
Caught the eye a couple of times in deeper races. Now has Rossa Ryan in the irons and steps back into a more winnable grade. Capable of a strong showing if bouncing back to peak figures.
6. Combustion – Best Odds: 7/1 – bet365
Won four on the bounce before his streak was ended recently. Still ran with credit and remains competitively weighted. Chelsea Banham’s gelding is one of the likelier improvers and shouldn’t be dismissed.
7. Yoshimi – Best Odds: 16/1 – BetVictor
Hasn’t replicated past wins recently, and his mark is only easing slowly. New jockey booked, and while his best could threaten, he’s hard to trust based on current evidence.
8. Safari Dream – Best Odds: 10/3 – Unibet
Looked rejuvenated when scoring at Bath last time out, and that effort came with a bit in hand. Oisin Murphy takes the reins again and he’s very much the one to beat on current form and momentum.
9. Forever Noah – Best Odds: 6/1 – BetMGM
Returned from a break with a fair effort and shaped as if more would come. Represents a powerful yard in Roger Varian’s, and Ray Dawson keeps the partnership alive. One for the shortlist.
10. Nelson Rose – Best Odds: 25/1 – bet365
Was in good nick last season but has yet to fire in 2024. Has dropped a bit in the weights, and Jason Watson is an interesting booking. Outside place claims at best unless he bounces back in a big way.
11. Thomas Equinas – Best Odds: 8/1 – BetVictor
Running with credit this spring and hasn’t been far away. Robert Havlin is a notable booking, and if granted a clean trip, he could sneak into the frame. Appears ready to strike soon.
12. El Hibri – Best Odds: 10/1 – Unibet
Often competitive at this level but continues to just fall short. Josephine Gordon knows him well, and the application of cheekpieces once again could help. Outsider with a squeak.
Verdict
Safari Dream arrives in peak shape and should take a bit of beating if repeating his latest effort. Forever Noah looks like one ready to run a big race, while Combustion remains a solid each-way alternative despite the end of his winning sequence.

1. Bizarre Law – [Best Odds: 7/2 – Unibet]
Snatched a surprise win last time under a strong front-running ride. With Oisin Murphy booked again, he’ll be dangerous if allowed to dictate. Carries a penalty but is clearly in good heart.
2. Bold Suitor – [Best Odds: 4/1 – bet365]
Consistent sort who has hit the frame more often than not this year. Georgia Dobie gets a good tune from him, and another bold showing seems likely at a track he’s gone well at before.
3. Eight Mile – [Best Odds: 12/1 – BetMGM]
Has struggled to replicate the placed form shown earlier in the season. Rossa Ryan is a notable booking, but he needs to sharpen up to trouble the principals here.
4. Heerathetrack – [Best Odds: 9/1 – Unibet]
Mark Usher’s charge is holding form steadily and boasts previous Chelmsford success. From a decent draw, he could offer good value to run into the places again.
5. Kranjcar – [Best Odds: 2/1 – bet365]
Improving with racing and bidding for a hat-trick after two wins in quick succession. George Boughey’s 4-year-old has found his groove and is the clear form pick under top apprentice Jack Callan.
6. Ballybaymoonshiner – [Best Odds: 11/1 – BetMGM]
Caught the eye on reappearance and wasn’t far away last time. Has winning form over course and distance and remains competitively treated. A lively each-way play.
**7. Due Date – **NR (Non-runner)
**8. Lion Ring – **NR (Non-runner)
9. Kessaar Power – [Best Odds: 20/1 – Unibet]
Form has been patchy, and despite a sliding mark, he hasn’t convinced as a win threat. A low draw helps, but others make stronger appeal for win purposes.
10. Darlo Lady – [Best Odds: 33/1 – BetVictor]
Offered little in limited starts and returns from a break with plenty to prove. May benefit from the experience but likely best watched at this point.
11. Spirit La Adelita – [Best Odds: 40/1 – bet365]
Three poor efforts this year and hasn’t yet hinted at being up to winning from this rating. A surprise package if she turns things around tonight.
12. Doves Of Peace – [Best Odds: 50/1 – BetMGM]
Out of sorts in recent runs and would need a huge step forward. Trainer Marco Ghiani opts to persevere, but signs of revival remain absent.
13. Shades Of May – [Best Odds: 40/1 – Unibet]
Early season promise hasn’t materialised and looks set to struggle again. Others arrive with much stronger recent form and win credentials.
Verdict
Kranjcar is a horse on the up and has every chance to land the hat-trick for an in-form stable. Bold Suitor continues to knock on the door and could capitalise if the favourite falters. Ballybaymoonshiner may outrun his odds and sneak a place.
