Research Scottish Premiership matches

The Old Firm fixtures attract plenty of attention, but match odds across the Premiership also depend on how clubs perform against different styles of opposition. Look at recent opponents, home and away form, team news, defensive availability and travel before judging a price. No team deserves a bet purely because of its reputation.

What to compare

  • Upcoming Premiership fixtures and UK kick-off times
  • Official 12-club standings and recent results
  • Home and away records, goals, BTTS and Over 2.5 trends
  • Available scorers, assists and indicative market odds
  • Fixture-linked BT4Y previews where available
  • Top-six race, European contention and relegation pressure

How the Scottish Premiership split works

The twelve clubs face each other three times over the first 33 rounds. The table then divides into a Championship Group and Bottom Six, with six clubs in each. Every team plays a further five matches against the other clubs in its group, finishing with 38 games each. Points carry over: there is no points halving. The groups stay separate after the split, even if teams finish on overlapping points totals.

The title, Europe and survival

The top six contest the title and European places in the final five rounds. Exact European qualifications can depend on UEFA allocation and the Scottish Cup. The side finishing 12th is relegated to the Championship, while 11th enters a two-legged promotion/relegation play-off against the Championship play-off winner.

Scottish Premiership betting angles

Goals and both-teams-to-score markets can be worth researching alongside the match result, double chance and handicap markets. Review the quality of chances, recent defensive performances, possible team rotation and head-to-head context rather than simply following a goals average. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibernian and Aberdeen each face different expectations and schedules, so a price should be assessed match by match.

Why fixture context matters

With an uneven number of home and away meetings before the split, venue records deserve particular attention. Injuries, late squad changes and midweek cup or European fixtures may also influence a manager's approach. The top-six race can shape tactical choices as Round 33 approaches, while the bottom six may prioritise points over risk-taking later in the season.

Scottish Premiership predictions FAQ

Where can I find Scottish Premiership predictions?

BT4Y links published Scottish Premiership previews beside the correct fixture. You can also explore our daily football predictions for other Scottish and European matches.

How does the Scottish Premiership split work?

After 33 matches per club, the table divides into a Championship Group (top six) and a Bottom Six. Teams carry their points into five more games against clubs in their own group, giving each team 38 league games.

Can a bottom-six club finish above a top-six club?

No. Once the league splits, clubs remain in their respective groups for the final five rounds, even if their overall points totals overlap.

Who gets relegated from the Scottish Premiership?

The club finishing 12th is automatically relegated. The club in 11th contests a two-legged play-off against the Championship play-off winner.

What betting markets are relevant in Scottish football?

Depending on the fixture, common markets include match result, double chance, both teams to score, goal totals, handicaps and selected player bets. Recent opponents and current prices matter.

How should I compare Scottish Premiership team form?

Check home and away form, the standard of recent opponents, team availability and fixture congestion. A short winning streak does not guarantee a similar result against a stronger side.

Are Scottish Premiership tips guaranteed?

No. Every football selection carries risk. Odds can change, and even well-supported predictions can lose. Set a budget and bet responsibly.
