Over 2.5 Goals
Aarhus v Viborg
Reason for tip

This Superliga clash promises an open contest given the attacking profiles and recent form of both sides. Viborg, sitting third, bring a potent offense averaging 1.6 goals per game and exert more attacking pressure with higher shot and corner counts. Aarhus, despite a lower league position, have shown a willingness to engage offensively and their matches with Viborg have historically been high-scoring, averaging 3.5 goals over their last 10 meetings. With both teams capable of scoring and conceding, the Over 2.5 Goals market appeals as the fixture should open up, reflecting the attacking intent and defensive vulnerabilities on display.

Sunday’s football stretches from Scandinavia to South America, taking in a Liga Portugal relegation battle and an Argentine top-flight fixture where one club’s divisional status could be settled by the final whistle. It is a varied card, and not every fixture arrives with clear form to point the way. New managers are overseeing their first or second matches in charge. A club with just two wins from 29 league fixtures this season faces a side well placed to take advantage. Across these four games, the evidence has pointed consistently enough in one direction to build four selections worth examining in detail. The reasoning behind each differs, which partly explains why the accumulator feels like four independent arguments rather than one instinct applied four times.

Sunday’s Four-Fold Accumulator Selections

AGF vs Viborg

AGF’s record across their last 10 league matches points firmly towards goals. The Whites have averaged 1.4 goals scored per game while conceding 1.7, a combined rate of 3.1 per fixture. Viborg’s last 10 Superliga games show 1.7 goals scored and 1.0 conceded on average. Put those two sets of numbers alongside each other in a single match and the case for clearing the 2.5-goal line becomes straightforward to understand.

The season-wide league figures add context. AGF have scored 15 and conceded 18 in 11 Superliga games — 33 combined, or three per match on average — while Viborg have 18 scored and 10 conceded, averaging 2.5 per fixture. The gap in league position is considerable: Viborg sit third with 20 points, AGF tenth with nine. But the relevant question for this market is how many goals the two sides tend to be involved in, and both records point in a similar direction. AGF have averaged 15.2 attempts per game in their last ten, and Viborg have faced 13.3 attempts against them per game across the same period. The opportunities should be there.

The honest counterpoint is that both clubs’ most recent results were contained. AGF drew 1-1 with FC Copenhagen, then 1-1 at home to Egnatia in the Conference League. Viborg lost 2-1 to FC Midtjylland. None of those ends at three goals. Single results can mislead, though, and the pattern across a larger sample gives no strong reason to expect a tightly managed Sunday afternoon. AGF have conceded 1.7 goals per game this season while Viborg average 1.7 scored. Neither defence has been especially difficult to break down, and the combined averages leave plenty of room for the over to land.

Best bet: Over 2.5 Goals

Aldosivi vs Belgrano Cordoba

Aldosivi’s season record tells a straightforward story. Across 29 Liga Profesional de Fútbol games, they have failed to win 27. Their full campaign stands at two wins, ten draws and seventeen defeats, averaging 0.7 goals scored and 1.4 conceded. In their last five matches alone, the picture is no better: one win and four defeats, with 1.2 goals scored and 2.0 conceded per game. Sunday’s fixture carries additional weight beyond those numbers — a defeat here, combined with Deportivo Riestra collecting five points, would confirm Aldosivi’s relegation from the top flight.

Belgrano arrive in noticeably different condition. Third in the table with 16 wins, ten draws and seven defeats, they average 1.2 goals scored and 0.8 conceded across the season. The 3-0 loss to River Plate last weekend was a setback, but their five-match run still reads three wins, one draw and one defeat. The head-to-head record adds further encouragement: Aldosivi have managed just one win and two draws in their last five meetings with this opponent, with an average of 0.4 goals scored and 0.6 conceded per game in those fixtures. Their most recent encounter on April 11 finished 1-0.

The obvious counterpoint is motivation. Relegated clubs can occasionally produce results that their form would not suggest, and Aldosivi will understand precisely what is at stake. Five of their last 14 home league games have also ended without either side scoring, which raises at least the possibility of a defensive affair. But the selection here is simply Belgrano to win, not a high-scoring match. On the strength of their season record, their recent sequence and their historically slight edge in this particular fixture, Belgrano are clearly the more convincing side on the available evidence.

Best bet: Belgrano Cordoba to win

Nacional vs SC Braga

The scale of Nacional’s defensive difficulties is hard to overstate. Eighteen goals conceded in eight Liga Portugal games represents the worst record in the division, and they have shipped multiple goals in each of their last five top-flight outings. Six consecutive league defeats followed an opening two fixtures that produced four points, and their Taca de Portugal exit — a 1-0 home defeat to a third-tier club — led directly to the dismissal of Alexandre Santos less than six weeks into his tenure. Caretaker Bruno Abreu is expected to take charge on Sunday while the club await Joao Henriques’s arrival as permanent manager.

Braga also changed manager last week, parting with Carlos Vicens after a four-match winless run that included three successive defeats. Franclim Carvalho’s first match in charge — a 2-0 home win over Gent in the Conference League on Thursday — provided an immediate return to winning form. Victor Gomez opened the scoring inside three minutes and Gabri Martinez added a second-half goal. Carvalho now makes his first league appearance with the club, and Braga’s record at the Estadio da Madeira provides relevant backdrop: they have won five of their last six Liga Portugal visits to Nacional.

The risk with two newly installed managers in the same fixture is that unpredictability runs in both directions. Braga were unconvincing during their winless run, and one Conference League result against Gent is a limited sample. That said, the structural evidence is not balanced. Nacional have the division’s worst defence, a caretaker preparing for his first match in charge and six straight league defeats behind them. Braga arrive with a strong travelling record at this specific ground and a new manager who opened with an encouraging win. The evidence points clearly enough in one direction.

Best bet: SC Braga to win

Molde vs Fredrikstad

Molde’s attacking output in recent weeks makes them the most straightforward over-goals argument in the accumulator. Their 6-1 win over Start in their last home game — Sander Hestetun Kilen scoring a hat-trick, the hosts managing 12 shots on target with 68% possession — capped a ten-game Eliteserien run in which Molde have averaged 3.1 goals scored and 1.8 conceded per fixture. A combined rate approaching five goals per match places the 2.5 line in a comfortable position when Molde are at Aker Stadion.

Fredrikstad’s contribution is less dramatic but still relevant. Their most recent match ended 3-2 in defeat to Viking, and across their last ten Eliteserien games they have averaged 1.3 goals scored and 1.3 conceded per fixture. They have also conceded from 4.0 shots on goal per game during that period, which means Molde’s 8.4 shots on target per game in the same stretch represents a notable mismatch. The visiting side are not a team that shuts games down.

The counterpoint worth acknowledging is the head-to-head record. Fredrikstad have won the last two meetings against Molde, including a 2-1 away victory at Aker Stadion and a 4-2 home win previously. They are clearly capable of competing in this fixture regardless of the form gap. That historical record speaks to competitive outcomes rather than low scoring, though — a 2-1 away win and a 4-2 home win both clear the 2.5-goal line with ease. Molde have won six, drawn two and lost two of their last ten league games, and their attacking output in that period gives little reason to expect a quiet afternoon from the hosts.

Best bet: Over 2.5 Goals
