Jagiellonia v Legia Warszawa
Despite both Jagiellonia and Legia Warszawa showing attacking intent, this Ekstraklasa clash leans towards a tighter defensive outcome. Legia's solid backline, conceding just one goal per game, contrasts with Jagiellonia's more porous defence, but their attack may struggle to break through here. Recent form and head-to-heads suggest open games, yet the market undervalues the chance of a clean sheet, especially from Legia. Given Legia's quality and defensive discipline, there's a strong case that one side could be kept out, making Both Teams To Score No an appealing angle at decent odds.

Four Sunday evening fixtures stretch across the continent and beyond tonight — from the Ekstraklasa in Poland to Portugal’s most charged domestic fixture, with a Serie C match in Gubbio and a late Brazilian kick-off completing the card. Building an accumulator from such varied territory requires each leg to stand on its own evidence, and the evidence across these four fixtures points in notably consistent directions. Two selections rest on whether tight defensive contests emerge despite the attacking numbers around them. Another turns on the gap between a home side with real goalscoring output and a visitor struggling for consistency on the road. The fourth asks whether the most prolific attack in Portuguese football can breach the division’s most watertight defence. Here is the reasoning behind all four.

Sunday’s Four-Fold Accumulator Selections
Jagiellonia v Legia Warszawa
The head-to-head register between these two clubs offers the clearest starting point for this selection. Since October 2023, Jagiellonia and Legia Warszawa have contested six Ekstraklasa meetings, producing just 11 goals across them — an average of 1.83 per game. Four of those six fixtures ended in draws, and Legia have contributed only four goals across those six encounters. That last figure is worth pausing on: across six league meetings against Jagiellonia, Legia have been markedly less productive than their broader form might suggest.
Their current run reinforces that sense of caution without dominance. Legia’s recent Ekstraklasa results read DWDDWD — they are a difficult side to beat but not consistently clinical. Their most recent match, a 1-1 draw with Widzew Łódź, saw them register 15 attempts and put three on target. The volume is there; the conversion has not followed. In the last H2H meeting, a 2-2 draw at Jagiellonia’s ground in March, Legia produced 17 attempts with only one on target. It is difficult to reconcile that kind of efficiency with the prospect of scoring freely, and Legia have not beaten Jagiellonia in any of their last three away league meetings.
The counter-argument has real substance, and it deserves honest treatment. Jagiellonia’s last six fixtures across competitions have generated 22 goals, with 14 scored by the home side — an average that points more towards an open match than a defensive one. They come in, however, off a 2-1 Europa League defeat to Olympiacos in which they managed only four attempts on goal. Legia, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in their last six away Ekstraklasa fixtures. This is not a case of backing against a struggling visitor. What the H2H record provides is something more specific: when these clubs meet, the scorelines consistently tighten well below the averages both sides produce against other opponents.

Gubbio v Ostia Mare Lidocalcio
Tenth in Group B against seventeenth. Seven points from five games against three. The league positions alone make the direction of this Serie C fixture clear, and the underlying numbers only reinforce the gap.
Gubbio have scored 16 goals in seven matches this season — 2.29 per game — and their home form reflects that output. Two Serie C wins from three on their own ground include a 3-1 victory over Latina Calcio, and their first goal of the match typically arrives around the 29th minute, suggesting they get into the contest early. Over seven matches in total, Gubbio have cleared the 2.5 goals line in six of them. Ostia Mare, by contrast, have scored six times in six games at an average of exactly one per match. Of their fixtures, only three have produced more than 2.5 goals combined. The model’s win probability of 42% for Gubbio reflects the competitive nature of the Série C, but the gap in output is substantial.
Away from home, Ostia Mare have won once in four fixtures across Serie C and the Coppa Italia Serie C. They have conceded eight times on the road and kept no clean sheets. Their most recent away trip, a 3-2 loss at Sassari Torres, extended that run. Gubbio’s zero clean sheets in seven matches means this is not a case built on defensive solidity — but to win here, they do not need to shut Ostia Mare out. They need to outscore a visiting side averaging one goal per game against a home record that consistently produces multiple.
The risk is a narrow contest that could tip either way, and Ostia Mare have found the net in four of their six matches regardless of the result. Against that, the league position, the home-ground advantage and the clear disparity in recent scoring output make Gubbio the selection with the most consistent factual support.
Best bet: Gubbio to win
FC Porto v Benfica
The framing of this O Clássico is unusually precise. Porto have won all six Primeira Liga matches this season and conceded just twice. In their last ten league fixtures, they have allowed 0.6 goals per match, with Diogo Costa recording six clean sheets across that sequence. The rate at which Porto suppress opposition chances — 9.9 attempts and 2.8 shots on target per game over those ten matches — represents the strongest defensive record in the division.
Benfica are the test that record has not yet faced. They have scored 21 times in six Primeira Liga matches, averaging 3.5 per game, and in their last ten league fixtures have produced 7.5 shots on target and 19.1 attempts per match. Vangelis Pavlidis leads the Golden Boot race with seven league goals and nine across that ten-game sample, while Gianluca Prestianni has added five goals and three assists over the same period. The attacking output is spread across multiple contributors, which makes Benfica considerably harder to contain than any single forward threat. Yet Benfica themselves restrict opponents to 7.6 attempts per match across their last ten league games — both sides, in other words, have shown they can defend when required. When these two met at the Estádio do Dragão last season, the fixture ended goalless, halting Porto’s seven-game winning run at the time. Benfica have not lost in 55 consecutive Primeira Liga matches and remain unbeaten in their last two league visits to this ground.
The concern on Porto’s side is defensive. Nehuen Perez is absent, Joao Costa and Zaidu Sanusi remain unavailable, and Kiwior and Bednarek are expected to form the central partnership. Porto are missing defensive cover against the highest-scoring attack in the country. Pavlidis, despite having played only the second half of Benfica’s midweek 2-0 win over AC Milan due to rotation, remains a genuine individual threat. His output this season has not been built on fortunate finishing.
The case for BTTS No does not require either side to be poor. It requires the defensive structure on at least one side to hold for 90 minutes — something Porto have done consistently, and something the last encounter at this specific ground also produced. Porto’s 0.6 goals conceded per match over ten league games is the most important single number here, and big-match football at this level has a well-established tendency to compress rather than expand scoring opportunities.
Best bet: BTTS No @ 6/5
Atletico Paranaense v Bahia
History carries weight in this fixture, and the head-to-head record tilts unmistakably toward the hosts. From 23 meetings, Atletico Paranaense hold 11 wins against Bahia’s seven, with five draws — a pattern that provides a substantial historical base. At Arena de Baixada specifically, Atletico’s home PPG of 2.15 sits a long way above their road average of 1.29, and across 27 Serie A matches this season they have scored 41 times while conceding 31, at 1.52 and 1.15 per game respectively. Kevin Stiven Viveros Rodallega has contributed 18 goals across all competitions, providing a consistent focal point in attack.
Bahia have not arrived in poor form. Their 1.56 goals per game across 27 Serie A matches reflects genuine output, and their 1.69 points per game away from home suggests they travel with real confidence. Luciano Batista da Silva Junior has reached nine league goals, while Éverton Ribeiro’s four assists add creativity to Bahia’s build-up. Their record on the road is not the record of a side who will be overawed at Arena de Baixada.
The most significant counter-evidence here, and one that would be wrong to understate, is recent form. Atletico’s last five Serie A results include two 3-3 draws, and Bahia have scored in each of their most recent five league fixtures. Both sides have been scoring freely, and the recent pattern for both points more readily towards goals in both nets than to a clean sheet at either end. The case for BTTS No leans on head-to-head dominance and home strength rather than on recent defensive form, which has not been especially watertight for either side. Those are the available foundations — and while the analytical case here is tighter than elsewhere in the accumulator, Atletico’s established advantage over Bahia across 23 meetings, combined with their considerably stronger home than away record, provides a reasoned basis for the selection.
