Dutching Calculator
Calculate the stakes required to guarantee an equal profit across multiple selections.
What is Dutching?
Dutching is a betting strategy where you split your stake across several selections in a single event so that no matter which selection wins, you make the exact same profit. It is essentially a way of creating your own “Double Chance” or “Triple Chance” bet.
This calculator does the math for you. You simply enter the total amount you are willing to stake and the odds for the horses or teams you want to back. The tool will calculate exactly how much to bet on each one.
When to use Dutching
- Horse Racing: When you can narrow a race down to 2 or 3 horses but can’t pick a clear winner.
- Football Correct Score: Backing likely scores like 1-0, 2-0, and 2-1 to cover the most probable outcomes.
- Tennis: In tournament outright markets, backing the “Big 3” favorites to guarantee a win if one of them takes the title.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Dutching only balances your profit if one of your chosen selections wins. If none of your selections win (e.g., an outsider wins the race), you lose your total stake.
This is the percentage chance of winning suggested by the odds. If the combined implied probability of your selections is greater than 100%, you cannot make a profit (this is known as an “overround”). Our calculator will alert you if your selections do not offer a profitable opportunity.
This calculator currently accepts Decimal Odds (e.g., 2.50, 4.00) as they are more precise for Dutching calculations. If you use fractional odds, simply convert them first (e.g., 2/1 = 3.00).
