4:10 Newcastle- Waarif- 7/1 (0.5pt ew)
Despite Waarif being 0-6 for David O’Meara, his best performances have been at Newcastle. He was second on his debut for the yard off a mark of 79 and then finished 5th and 3rd off a mark of 80 having missed the break both times. He then ran at Chelmsford but again missed the break which is a huge negative at that course. He proved slightly disappointing at Wolverhampton last time but he now returns to his favoured venue off a mark of 78. He now runs in a first time visor rather than his usual cheekpieces and should be bang there at the finish.
6:10 Newcastle- Economic Crisis- 12/1 (0.5pt ew)
Economic Crisis had been in good recent form on the turf and with form figures of 1212 her handicap mark went from 65 up to 73. She then ran on the AW for the first time since 2013 at Newcastle over 6f last time when finishing a close 3rd at 40/1. She drops back to her optimum distance of 5f here and should go well in a race where a lot ahead of her in the market have doubts on the surface.
