Following a 5/2 (10p R4) winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races at Fairyhouse on Tuesday 23rd April. P&L +24.78pts.
4:10 Fairyhouse- Defi Bleu 10/1 (0.5pt ew)
Defi Bleu ran well last time to finish 3rd in the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle over an inadequate 2m4f. He proved he can stay this 3 mile trip in December when finishing 2nd in a Grade 2 at Limerick on soft ground when beaten less than a length.
Defi Bleu has been raised runs here off 1lb higher than at Cheltenham which is fair and connections have decided to book the talented Kevin Brogan to take off 7lb. With five places widely available, he should be involved in the finish.
4:40 Fairyhouse- Denmead 8/1 (0.5pt ew)
A few old favourites contest this race but the most interesting has to be the UK raider Denmead for the Skelton family. They have recently reached 200 winners for the season and it looks significant that they come pot hunting across the Irish Sea. He has only run four times over hurdles but was impressive 25 days ago when winning by 11 lengths on his first run after a wind operation.
Denmead makes his handicap debut off a mark of 131 and with five places available each way looks a good bet.
