Following a 6/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races away from Aintree on Thursday 4th April. P&L +16.18pts.
3:50 Taunton- Capitaine 13/8 (1pt)
Capitaine looks to have benefitted by a return to hurdles this season and won here over 2 miles in February. That came off a mark of 131 where he beat Sternrubin by 1 1/2 lengths. He was raised 6lb for that win and was sent off 12/1 for the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival where he could never get involved.
Capitaine has been dropped 2lb for that run so runs here off 135 and with Lorcan Williams taking off a further 5lb then he should be hard to beat.
6:30 Chelmsford- Samphire Coast 7/2 (1pt)
Samphire Coast loves this C&D over which he has won five times. He won at Kempton in February off a mark of 77 before running well to finish 2nd over this C&D off a mark of 81 last month.
Samphire Coast was only beaten 1 length that day and he runs in this race off the same mark. He is a hold up horse so will be suited by this smaller field of six runners and he should go well.
