Following a couple of disappointments yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Thursday 28th September. Sept P&L +12.36pts
4:30 Perth- Ballyandy 5/4 (4pt) *price when tipped on twitter
Ballyandy was a top class bumper performer who won the Cheltenham Champion Bumper in 2016. Despite only winning once over hurdles last season his form is very good, with his last run ending in a fourth place finish in the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival in March. He makes his chasing debut against a couple of winners who have to give him weight as a result but that have worse form over hurdles. He ran in his first novice hurdle at this meeting last year, narrowly coming second to Moon Racer and if he transfers his ability to fences should prove very difficult to beat.
6:20 Pontefract- Mirimar 13/8 (1pt)
Mirimar has shown big improvement since being switched to handicaps with a win and a second last time out. He won over 1m2f on soft ground off a mark of 59 and then finished second over 1m4f at Chepstow next time. He finished 6 lengths clear of the third that day on good to soft ground and has been raised 4lb as a result. The winner of that race has flopped since but obviously didn’t run to form and Mirimar looks to have a big chance here back on softer ground (currently heavy). There have been a couple of non runners this morning as is currently a 13/8 shot having been as big as 3/1 last night.
