Following 3/1 and 6/4 (2pt) winners yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Thursday 22nd February. P&L +22.40pts.
3:55 Sedgefield- Delegate 5/4 (1pt)
Delegate is rated 141 over fences after a victory at Musselburgh 8 days ago but can run off a hurdles mark of 127 here. He last ran over hurdles in October 2016 but should have a huge chance off 14lb lower. His victory last time was after a wind operation so he should have a few pounds to play with even off his rating. His main market rival Craig Star is now off a career high mark of 122 having been raised 6lb for his victory last time. If Delegate is in the same form as eight days ago he will prove difficult to beat.
7:00 Chelmsford- Very Honest 15/8 (1pt)
I am a big fan of Pulsating at other tracks but she has poor form at Chelmsford in comparison. Her form at the venue is 2nd (9/4), 4th (5/4) and 3rd (evens) so she has disappointed and a chance is taken on Very Honest on her first run at the venue. The pair met at Kempton two starts ago and Pulsating won by a nose receiving 1lb. Since that run, Pulsating has disappointed finishing 6th but Very Honest has won a race at Lingfield off 1lb higher. She has been raised 2lb for that but the form has been boosted since with the second and fourth both winning since. With negatives around Pulsating and Very Honest’s recent win receiving a form boost, she is a confident selection.
8:30 Chelmsford- Surrey Blaze 2/1 (1pt)
Surrey Blaze has won both races since going handicapping and should have a good chance of completing the hattrick off only 7lb higher. He won off a mark of 51 at Wolverhampton over 8.5f but then improved for the step up to 10f over C&D last time. He won that race by nearly three lengths so he deserves his 7lb rise and should prove difficult to beat.
